A former Apple tech explains 14 iPhone battery life saving tips and dispels common myths about what causes iPhone batteries to die too fast. I used to work in an Apple Store, and this is the most common problem we saw at the Genius Bar.

Thank you both so much for your step-by-step visual demonstration, it makes it soooo much easier to follow along when you are pointing out the exact location of the app while not rushing through the visual demonstration, you made it a heck of a lot less stressful! @Mohammed Camara Of course they didn't. It's an iPhone we're talking about here. The battery capacity is so low that changing these settings will give you a minimal increase in battery life at best.

A good way to tell if you need a new battery is if your battery performs normally until about 75% and then takes a dive. I replaced my own battery with a kit. Not technically difficult but you do need good eyes and a steady hand (tiny screws). With a new battery and these helpful tips my phone is now performing skillfully. Thanks!

I hope I’m not the only one who’s on 1% for hours but when I’m at 100 it dies really quick to 20... EDIT: I replaced my iPhone SE with a Huawei P Smart Pro. Also, don't waste so much money on just an Apple product it's NOT worth it. My 400$ phone is better with battery and could beat some of the iPhones.

Anyone know why everyone tolerates so many iPhone issues on such an expensive phone which are so bad you need a "genius" to fix them. Androids cost $60 a month or less for fully unlimited plan, unlimited free apps, 50 more functions than any iPhone, including taking a picture with your voice when you have sunscreen on your hands or wearing mittens or snow skiing, 100% accurate maps & searches . Nothing ever goes wrong with Androids that's why there is no "Android store" where only a genius can fix your phone because Apple refuses to pay for beta testing before launching any new phone so there will always be major glitches that's why they had to set up a Genius Bar. I'm not being critical I'm just wondering if someone can explain why they would buy an iPhone when a less expensive far Superior smartphone is available that doesn't require you to implement tons of hacks just to get minimum functionality.

I guess the fact that you still have to pause means these guys value quality over quantity. My I-Phone SE was the same, and the only solution our service provider could offer was me buying a new phone for a ridiculous price. I took my phone to Batteries Plus and they installed a new battery in about 15 minutes for about $70.00. This was way cheaper than a new phone, especially when considering my phone was in excellent condition except for the rapid battery drain. Even if this battery only lasts one year I could buy a new battery every year for 10 more years and still not pay as much as a new phone.

1. Unistall Facebook 2. Get the Lite version of Messenger 3. Keep location OFF 4. Do not leave the phone to charge overnight 5. Set screen brightness to as low as you can still see it 6. Do not buy the Apple Watch or wireless headphones which will constantly try to remain connected and drain the battery That's it! Have fun!

Thank you for this video. I just went from an iPhone 6 to an 11, and frankly, I miss the 6. Seemed easier to understand and use. I've noticed that my 11 doesn't hold a charge for as long as I was hoping. I use it for work and after about 4 hours I need to charge it again. Maybe I'm expecting to much. I'm trying your tips. Thanks again

Don't bother, leave it on, tiny tiny difference in battery life. You won't even notice any gains, especially on newer iphones.

I used iPhone5 for 7 years without any battery dead problem. By doing these: 1- do not use computer to charge or any other battery suppliers. Use Only orginal adapter. 2- discharge less than %10 once everyweek 3- dont put your iPhone at charge adapter whole night. As you see %100, wait 1 hour more but not more than 1 hour. You have to disconnect the cable than. 4-dont charge more than once a day ever. 5!-repeating rule1. Never use to use charging it with a computer.

No when it reaches 100% the phone will stop the charge, the software recognizes that the phone is fully charged and does not charge it any further.

Current generation of mobile phones (ALL brands) were not designed with the ever increasing amount many people use their phones. Biggest battery saving tip - try using your phone less. For example if your out for a meal with friends.... talk to them!

This helped so much. Before I watched this video my phone was so hot and was losing about 5% battery every few minutes and not it’s losing 1% battery about once every five minutes and isn’t burning up anymore. Thank youu
