Welcome to EU4 Navarra, a nation that few think about and fewer still play. Today, we can function as an EU4 Guide for navarra as we take on EU4 castile, eu4 aragon and EU4 france... not necesarily in that order. Europa Universalis 4 is now my enemy as it throws a wrench in the works for what some consider to be EU4 hardest nation. Either way, via personal union, conquest or simply surrendering; we'll see how we get on.

"Historically, we were not long for this world." Navarra actually survived pretty well until after the French Wars of Religion! The PU in-game didn't last, and Navarra wound up inheriting Foix and Albret through dynastic ploys after they lost their holdings south of the Pyrennes, leaving Navarra as a French appanage, even ending up as one of the three Henries in the French Wars of Religion, ultimately winning with Henry II de Bourbon!

@@viniciusyugulis7278not necessarily Cultures spread due to many reasons, and an example would be the process of Polonisation in the polish Lithuanian commonwealth The poles didn't practice genocide, the culture just spread because it appeared to be that of prestige

@@tuluppampam Poles didn't exactly let other cultures be either. They were suppressed and treated lesser than poles. If one wanted to make anything of ones self, he had to adopt polish culture. So it was a kind of linguistic genocide. The irony is that a lithuanian created the commonwealth, and then lituanians spent the rest of the time being screwed by poles.

Fun History Fact: the Basque were some of the greatest sailors of Europe during the middle ages, and likely discovered Nova Scotia before Columbus sailed to the Indes. It's thought that they kept the discovery to themselves, so as to keep the plentiful shoals of fish in the Gulf of Maine a secret, so great was their lust for salt cod. Laith also shares a powerful lust for salt cod, which gave him the nickname Baccala in secondary school.

For today's story, a couple days ago I participated in a discord event on the Social Streamers discord. It was just an EU4 game, but there were challenges you had to do every 5 years. On the second challenge, I ended up offering myself as a sacrifice because even this was my first discord challenge, someone had to do it, and I was raised to always be helpful. I didn't come up with any cool last words, though everyone on my team did rename a province after me. I probably should have asked someone to tell Laith to play a Fire Emblem Game on my Behalf. But hey, it gave me a cool story for day 101!

Haven't really had any trainwrecks, but I did a couple runs as Punjab and Rajputana that both ran into Vij, Juanpur and Bengal allying each other to block me out from further Indian expansion.

I did a game as Ardabil not that long ago and I was absolutely tearing my hair out because I was constantly death warring someone or another who should have been far stronger than I (whether that was Ajam until I destroyed them, Timurids and their 97 Indian major allies, the Ottoman/Mamluk alliance after I formed Persia, or an absolutely gigantic Muscovy/Russia) and somehow managing to scrape by with full money and a tiny bit of land before moving on to the next death war. Defeating the Ottomans and the Mamluks while down 4 mil techs is by far my greatest accomplishment in EU4 and there is no way I will ever do any better than that. I have resigned myself to mediocrity as a one-war wonder.

hi Laith, i don’t know if you’ll see this or consider it, but i know that i and a bunch of other people struggle quite a bit to see a lot of the details going on when you play. so if it’s possible, could you maybe make the UI a bit bigger to make it easier for us? if it isn’t too weird because i know it can be very derailing to change UI size sometimes. just a request! thank you so much :D

Maybe a weird question, but how do you have the time to have a social life, play EU4 for (seemingly) a few hours a day almost everyday, and do your masters? Or do you mass record a few campaigns every weekend or something?
