Yeah, I feel similarly. In the time I've been watching ISAB, I've been through a horrendous abuse cycle and have almost reached full recovery. It feels crazy because ISAB has been doing the same thing this whole time and it's helped me through. In this time, my dad went from driving a honda accord, a ford f350, an accura, and a honda civic type R. He retired too. My mom went back through graduate school and is a rad-chemist now, though hilariously, she drives the same car. Shit is crazy, we've all been through so much and ISAB has it all figured out. He's even been around as long as tyler, has seen him quit, has seen bryanchess quit, has seen Simba quit, has seen Boltrix and Zigzag grow from nothing, and has been here for Brianchess's return. The only two others who've stuck around this long have been Asian Sensation and SJB, who I still forget is Tyler's brother until he brings it up.
underrated tower for me gotta be biggest one; especially after its buff. its insanely strong now with burny stuff. I dont know many towers that can almost solo round 98 on their own. Its actually how I got my black boarder on glacial trail and enchanted portals. the only thing it really doesnt answer well is the bad which mean like, first strike exists. It honestly just hits so hard now for a tower thats only like 50k gold
Honestly, the boomerang kind of falls into the same general class as the rest of the primary towers. It's very cheap, moderately effective, easy to buff, but isn't as efficient or scalable as most of the 'meta' towers. Getting it to work is really no trouble, and it'll serve you well for probably 95% of the content in the game. Just not for the 5% that's usually considered to be the flashiest and most worth doing, like boss runs, races, CHIMPS, etc.
Other than races, you don't use super maelstrom (and even then is it usually blade maelstrom). With the buff they gave to 0-5-2 that makes the ability last longer, when you get a Primary Expertise and an Energizer you can get pretty much 100% uptime (.4s if not chimps and .8s if it is chimps). Its a really fun strat that I used when they first made the change and I still had a couple maps to BB that it would be good on. Ancient Portal's alternative path would actually be a good place to try use it if your looking for a fun strat to use that bottom left section. I only mention all this because you asked us to let you know if there are any under used towers worth show casing.
4:55 they actually buffed laser cannon this update, giving it +2 moab damage. Idk how much better that makes the tower but it's nice that it finally got some attention.
I feel like this tower is underpowered compared to the other two. It doesn't really come into it's own until it's a tier 5, because the tier 4 ability has poor uptime, especially without cool down boosts. Trying to use it can lead to really difficult midgames because it's not really pulling weight as a T4 damage tower
@@CoconutOrNot_ Not really. It doesn't have the Wave clear of a 4-0-2 or the Cheap Moab damage/stall of the 0-2-4. With power up it is effective but it isn't enough to justify it especially with the increased price over the other 2 paths
Can't see camo, can only pop leads with bottom path, has limited range, etc. Imo its not bad but there's a reason its not super common in say advanced/extreme chimps
@@davidburke4101 @davidburke4101 "cheap moab damage" sure buddy Exactly, most heroes and turbo is enough to take on most of the easier rounds, and it's incredibly easy to ration your abilities for harder rounds like 49, 55 etc.

I just did a 2 TC on this map with spirit of the forest and dark champion. The interesting thing is that it can't be done on any other map (maybe scrapyard) because there is no way to pop the camo on 24. I really tried with glaive lord and dark champion but boomerang couldn't get through the first save up before super without tier 3, but tier 3 means you don't have enough money on round 33 for camo super.
the best spot is on the first turn on the impact mark next to the paper, set to last targeting. only viable with top path since you'll never use the whole loop with low pierce
imo Perma Charge has to always be crosspathed as a 0-5-2, because it makes it deal 8 damage instead of 4, and ability boosts damage by 10 instead of 8. Basically a 0-5-2 is MUCH better at single target damage.
My first thought when a support tower was to be added, would have been an embrittlement where the mortarshells hit the ground. Wouldn't that be a good spot/support for so many attacks?
It dont hit cammo with exception of the T4 that has the ability up. It's just easier to get lead popping than camos is usually my problem. Like you either have to get a sub, and unreliable source or village. Village is expensive sub is potentially unreliable and the other sources suck. Though its primary so this applies a lot less considering primary training very worth it. Buuuut im lazy.
True. Wizard Lord Pheonix and Pirate Lord are all I can think of for my go-to strats when doing chimps, but I haven’t upgraded my walls of fires in a very long time unless it’s for shimmer and pirate lord only started getting seriously used in harder maps for me recently due to the ungodly buff
Another less used tower is ironically the kylie boomerang. There's also blade shooter, big one, flash bomb, transforming tonic, druid of wrath, druid of the storm, ball lightning, deadly spikes, double gun engineer, sprockets, and condor. Ok, ignore condor and druid of the storm apparently I'm wrong
Condor is literally the best tower in the game right now for trexpert chimps. It's just not utilized very much by casual players because they seem to think that in order for a tower to synergize it has to give an explicit buff
Really I don't see condor very often. For the record my list was based on what I use and see other people use, not how good a tower is. I rarely see beast handler used in general unless it's middle path.
Obviously the better the tower is the more it's going to be used. It doesn't really count to say that you never see people using a tower if those people have never beaten a map harder than hedge lol
i do think the bio boomer/turbo charge could use the summon phoenix treatment where upgrading to the ability also buffs the tower of like extra passive attack speed
in btd6 its just not better than anything, you cant give it plus 1 from a village anymore, but you still need the village for camo, and superchage doesnt give camo dection anymore
Middle path Boomer feels a bit bland, it doesn't really excels at any kind of situation, it's as generic as you can get for a DPS even if it's perfectly ok.
because you have to choose between dealing 2 dmg and lead popping but have no pierce or have pierce but no lead popping and only 1 dmg. its just not good against anything.
The whole path is kind of awkward because turbo charge has like 20% uptime by default and its base stats are exactly the same as bio boomer and it's a 38k save for permacharge. Requires a lot of round specific knowledge to use it safely and having that knowledge doesn't really make it a dominant midgame choice either. I would only really consider using it with geraldo so that you can pull out glue etc if you mess up (and also the fire spirit gets the ability buff bonuses).
I love the bionic boomer it just has a problem a lot of the mid paths have in feeling like a tier 3 at tier 4 because the only thing that changes is the ability, like the pheonix prebuff, ground zero, and tack maelstrom. It could use a little buff.
