I'm not from Pakistan, but I see some tourists are quick to accept free service from poor vendors. I have also seen some who really insist on paying with real intention and they will accept. After all if they are rich it's ok. Else, please insist and pay the poor vendors.
Yeah. It really annoys me now that a lot of tourists going there expect to not be asked to pay from these street food vendors. They're poor people and the funny thing is the youtubers don't even insist lo. Even drew Bensky or whatever his name is, some of those clips made me laugh because he didn't even wanna actually pay and then bragged about how everything is free in Pakistan.
Top of that, they haggle with poor vendors and rickshaw walay . I mean should a self respecting person bargain for a 10 minute 200 rupee (1$) rickshaw ride, while you pay $50 for the same in the US
maybe they hate it because of what happened last year in winters when 100s of cars got stuck in the snowstorm and many died trapped inside their vehicles.
8 months ago it snowed 🌨 like never before so that day the hotels took advantage by putting there prices up to 5 times more then what it was n alot of people couldn't afford it so they had to go home but unfortunately they got trapped in the snow n froze ❄ to death n many bodies wer found days after
Bhai most of business in murree is run from other cities people and i know peole who went to those deserted area just to rescue them so stop this nonsense
you should go up north to Gilbit Baltistan if you fancy hiking, you should hike to Fairy Meadows. that' s piece of heaven and top notch thing is that people of GB respect and love their guests.
I dont hate it but I use to live in Pakistan and like 15-17 year ago Murree use to be more natural and less concrete and there was no planning for the architecture they used, it just became a mess unfortunately but still a nice place to visit. Another reason is it gets super crowded in winters
Hi Brent, I am glad you got to enjoy Murree. Although, as a Pakistani myself, it is understandable why Murree is so hated online for a few reasons: 1. Packed like crazy in the tourism season. The town's small and the influx of people from across the country makes it harder to even walk around your personal radius; bumping into other people at each step is simply annoying. 2. Local businesses and their insatiable greed. Prices of any item you buy get insanely jacked in the season. 3. Overrated place in general. It's beautiful, indeed; and the only reason to be overrated is because how easy it is to access relatively. Compare that to mountains in GB, AJK and KPK which are just as spectacular, but much harder to reach.
3:35 those weren't leaders they were very gallant soldiers who fought bravely for pakistan in the 1971 and 1999 wars respectively and were awarded the NISHAN E HAIDER (the highest military gallantry award) for it, they are very well respected in the nation for there valiance
I am from Pakistan but I live in London. I like your videos but when you were eating the burger and the children were behind you, you should have bought them one as well. I felt so bad for the children. The burgers were not expensive either. 😓
Why should we encourage people sending their kids to beg. Literally the beggars make more money than middle class workers in Pakistan. The real needy ones don't like to beg. Just an example, my friend who is a Masters worked in a bank he got paid 26K rupees a month. He would work at the bank for 13 hours a day. An old beggar women used to come to bank at 12pm daily to get her change converted back into bigger bills. Everyday after five hours of begging from 7am-12pm she would come with around 3k rupees. Her monthly average earning was around 90k. She didn't spend time in university nor paid fees but was earning more than him and her whole family was doing the same thing. Seeing this my friend, resigned for a better paying job. He earns 60k now. These beggars are not needy, they are habitual. A needy person can never find the courage to beg.
Brent, Murry and Murry People are good in general basically once some tourist were charged too much in season time and misbehaved by some shopkeepers and hotels, so it was highlighted on social media but we all know that all people are not bad in everywhere. In general you will find Pakistanis are good but bad fishes are everywhere in the world.

It actually gets hate because of how crowded it gets in season days and how expensive things are, in comparison to other places in pakistan,like that burger you ate was actually more expensive than most of other places

Try gol gappey. It's a famous street food. It was just next to that anday wala burger. And that anday wala burger is an awesome thing. Try daal kachoori as well
People do quite the opposite of what they tell others. They hate it but visit murree whenever get the chance. Whether it be sunny day or rainy the roads of murree are full of tourists.
This place deserves the negativity it gets bcz of hell lot of reasons, especially the way the local hotel honors, management etc treated people who got stuck in the snow storm last year rather than helping they kept finding the way to take an advantage of their situation monetarily, that costed the lives of many (RIP), and the things like insane price increment in services every season without any check.
I would never travel to murree if given an option will go some place else bcz: The business people there like hotel managers, restaurant owners are generally way too rude and disrespectful and the incident happened last year where almost two dozen people froze to death, these business owners profited off the tragedy to the point that they can even be credited partially for those deaths. I would never want to give my lil money, no matter how small, to those people especially when there are other better options available.
While you accept all that free food and souvenirs from pakistani shop owners wish you had bought a burger for that little boy begger too whose eyes never left the guy cooking your burger🥺 would have costed you like 20/30 pence only😬
Place is beautiful but it becames night mare in snow time when rates go up to sky last time people died on road it self in snow time and people there are agreasive and over charging my local perespective.
Don't try your luck too hard Brent especially in Murree, the locals are assholes in that area and it's full with creepy hustlers and all. Your just lucky you didn't come across one lol
When business owners starts over charging n take advantage of the people visiting what would you do would you allow them to exploit you or see others being exploited
Murree is a beautiful hill station but its locals have a bad reputation for being rude and materialistic. Pakistan is more about hospitality so people from other cities don't have a good opinion about Murree.
Its the people not the place people hate about murree, not all but many are greedy and disrespectful like no culture or values, hope they try to change
All the Abbassi have ruined Murree, greedy Pahariyay, who allowed concrete to take over this beautiful city and the Afghani namakharam chopped down all the trees.

Because of them innocent people died, got stuck in the snow... So yeah Murree is the worst Pakistan has to offer.. Murree needs to change. Locals there need to change and they will change when we will highlight their bad practices, they will change when we will raise our voice against their arrogance and greediness..
Place is beautiful but the owners of the businesses here r like butcher. Very notorious in Pakistan. Boycott this place let them run their business without any tourist
Its a lovely place but poorly managed by the municipality thats why people are hating it, its every pakistanis travel destination, especially honeymoons 😂

Incase offended that he was "amazed" at the number of dollar stores. He didn't understand that its because that's what people on vacation can afford. Well most of the average people of Pakistan.
