The humanity, most of the times go for the easiest way. Sex is one of them. Its important, but not the most. First come Love but its very demanding... so its easier to do sex and not put your heart, its so much work . Sex fulfills several different basic human needs and can be healthy but like anything else we can develop an unnatural attachment to it and it can become unhealthy in the same way food is natural but can become unhealthy. If we use either food or sex as an escape to avoid dealing with our emotions or problems in life we can get caught up in a destructive cycle of addiction and what was meant to be healthy and beneficial becomes perverted and destructive. This is not only true for food and sex but everything that is normal and healthy can become an unhealthy attachment if we do not deal with our emotions correctly. To ask the question why does sex play an important part in our life is the same as asking why does food or work play such an important part in our life. without sex none of us or anything else for that matter would be here.

I respect Krishanmurti but I'm a critic right now. His answer doesn't get to the root, but only explores the aspects connected to it, like creativity, freedom, easy reward and pleasurable. There are only 2 reasons why sex is at the center of most of our lives, especially men's. It is: #1 Exploitation of the masculine #2 Creating extreme lust around sex Men have been exploited as never before in time. It is natural for a man to feel attracted towards the feminine, today's marketing revolve around that. Soaps, alcohol, beds, juice, you name it and there will be a commercial with an almost naked woman. Most buying decisions were made by men, so this has been designed as the current culture. That's changing with online shopping though. In my speculation, it is time for the marketers to do what they do best, turn their exploitation towards women. This culture promoted sex in movies, ads, songs and every media channel in a way, that young boys were introduced to it as if it is the most masculine thing to do. They were told you're a loser if you're a virgin, and don't lie, even you believe that until you really question it, that's how deep the hypnosis is. Even me. Right now I don't, but tomorrow I might be when my conciousness gets a little duller than the level it is at right now. #2 Most cultures of the world treated sex as something children should not even talk about. They forbade them and made it such a secret, that it became the hottest secret. Shrouding sex like that for us made it so attractive, that the perception cannot be changed now. Sure when we had sex we believed it's not as interesting as people made it, but by then the seed is in the soil. We know it's not that interesting the day we had it. The next week when the consciousness gears back to the lower gear, we're lusting for sex again. The solution is to help the next generation, we're doomed so all we can do is keep reminding us consciously. For the next ones, to present sex to them as nothing interesting, and just an activity like eating food. To give it to them instead of shrouding it and chaining them a kilometre away from it, by helping them find a life partner when they become sexually matured. To do this, we have to create media laws with a good conscience and a review of how it has wrecked previous generations. And by creating new parenting standards individually. By walking this long and tough journey, can we only reverse the damage and bring sex down the pedestal. Again, all the respect to Krishanmurti. It's totally different to speak in front of a public, you have to keep firing. When I'm writing, I have a lot of time and convenience to think.

I’m talking about the beasts who have become so distorted that instead of looking at women as honorable beings (neutral manner) they look at them as sexual objects to satisfy them (distorted manner). People who only think of sex sex sex are weak willed and stuck at the bottom of Maslow's pyramid. Upgrade yourselves, ascend. Dont stay at the bottom in constant need and weakness. Have some self control. When you're in control, you honor your being. When your desires control you, you are no different from an animal. When the feeling of sex arises inside the body, I feel helpless. It seems that semen has an impulse with super great energy constantly pushing me to let it out. If I try to suppress it then it will become more and more powerful and if I observe it then I am getting more and more involved with it that it don't let me focused on any other thing. I studied meditation 3 years ago, and It wasn't until I read Krishnamurti that I realized that my practice and many related books were all wrong. I really appreciate it.

Peaceful heart. It takes a lot to remain calm in a world that is in turmoil. India is home to silent victorious people. Sex has become corrupt. It is not what it is in humble and isolated worlds. In such worlds sex has minor importance. Sex has two aspects to it, the subjective and objevtive/universal. To understand sex in a monastic perspective, you have to ask a better and grand question, why do we have male and female? Is sex necessary at all? At the objective state of sex, it is a duty. It is meant to be. At the subjective state sex is supposed to lead to a non animal transaction, It is personality, it is not animal. Many of us never had sufficient personality to make it non animal. We are lesser than animal due to investing it in a corruption or crudeness that it becomes violence or commercial. Nature creates male and female to achieve certain goals, if your female is not strong you will create abandoned male, if your male is not honorable you will exploit your physical strength. Sophistication in human sex leads to confirmation of wise personalities, we are individual too, as a species we need fine individuals.

Sex can be an addiction, it's a drug. And it's an easy one, perhaps the easiest. If for a person it is not so, then it is not even given such big importance.

"Sex is like air; it's not important unless you aren't getting any" I would say that there are healthy ways to give it importance, and unhealthy ways to do so. JK did not distinguish in this video, and I feel like he generalizes importance as a bad thing. People also generalize the ego as a bad thing whereas I feel there are unhealthy egos and healthy egos. Healing our ego is not about getting rid of it, and same goes for the meaning we ascribe to sex (in other words, the importance we place on it).

Sounds like expressing creativity through sex is somehow base. This is alluded to in the beginning when referring to tantra. Actually sex IS THE MOST CREATIVE ACT. Not to be brushed aside by making babies and procreating. The act itself creates inside and out. Sex requires creative expression where a man and woman expresses the relationship to one another. It is the act which sustains all things. If other creative acts are seen as better displacements that is completely pathetic

The whole question and assumtions are wrong for at least half of the population plus children. As he himself says exactly those words and answering them at the same time : "Why has sex been so deeply embedded in man?`" Man! - Not women! As we are still living in a macho world, where science, history, society and the rules were set and invented by men for a man`s world, they also ask such questions. Men ask such questions to other men. The same wrong assumption as everywhere: Start with religions, wikipedia, TV-programs (sometimes I think they have to show during peace times how to kill each other, that they don't forget how to do it in case and preparation for the next war; so much is killing going on all day long on the screens everywhere.....), movies, go further to the economy which is fostered in macho hierarchy education system leading to work life and politicians - all men`s stuff and pleasure and measure. Women trying to fit in. If just women wouldn`t participate anymore in men`s world, thinking about men`s questions and answers have sth. to do with them, they would have the time, energy and smarts to create and live a life not just fitting the other half of the population - but for the good of all.
