To fear God means that we need to take God seriously and believe that He will perform what He said He will in His Word. Fearing God is also associated with obeying God and keeping His Ten Commandments.
How good do we have to be? The law demands perfection, but not one of us is sinless. We all fall short and need the grace that Christ gives! By FAITH and not of yourselves!
I don’t think you should fear your parents as a 10 year old sure you don’t always understand why they aren’t allowing you to do whatever you want but when you’re a teenager you begin to understand why your parents don’t allow you to do whatever you want. If you’re a teenager and you fear your parents like you fear police then you got to ask yourself and your parents why they are content with your fear. I don’t fear god and if he wants to have a relationship with me he shouldn’t expect me to fear him. I am not afraid of what he can do. Love and fear are opposing thing’s fear comes from chaos and disorder while love comes from peace and harmony. You fear god cause he can create your chaos and destruction and coursing chaos and destruction isn’t becoming of a god he is described as love. Love has nothing to do with fear.
Yet humanity gained knowledge from the original sin. It even says in your Bible that humanity gained knowledge after Eve ate from the evil tree. So God wants us to fear him, but according to that statement, we couldn't because of the lack of knowledge without sin.
We are not just to love God. You are to fear God like you would fear a judge or a ruler. You are accountable to God, and he will judge you. Knowing this you have every reason to fear him and do your deeds in holiness.

If you don't love God you will not fear and you will be disobedient to His way and path for your life. If you love God you will be obedient. We must love what God loves and hate what God hates. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. 💞❤🙏🙏

The Lord is the friend of those who obey him and he affirms his covenant with them. Psalms 25:14 GNT The Lord shares his plans with those who have respect for him. I recently came back to faith and since that time the spirit of darkness has been in full force to try and discourage me to say the least. Everyone who is a true Christian need to claim the promises of God daily and seek him through prayer and reading the Bible. God is all holy, powerful, just, righteous , and love. It’s not easy to be a true Christian! A daily battle! We must remember that God does love us and will carry us through life’s ups and downs if we believe him wholeheartedly and trust his promises! I would say both are polar opposites. Fear and hate are negative emotions. Love is a positive emotion. Fear and hate typically go hand in hand. When you fear something, you tend to hate that thing as well.

@@BrentLeVasseur yes very good points, but do you love your mum and dad hopefully the answer is yes obviously depending on circumstances, and they love you but if you disobeyed them or was very naughty you would fear there punishment, but even as they would punnish you that does not change the fact that they still love you. It's like being a parent here on Earth as a child you fear your parent as well as loving them at the same time.you know if you do wrong they will spank you or put you in time out but at the same time you still love them.

So we desire to worship Him, love Him, obey Him and give all Glory to Him as our Lord God. Those who fear the Lord God, He calls them His Jewels and not only He remembers them, He will write them down in His book of Remembrance. I would never fear God he is the light that shines in me he gives me strength he helps me get through a lot of stuff that I go through and I think my Jehovah God for the blessings he gives my family there is just so much things that we need to not fear God we need to love him more than ever and Jesus Christ is the son of God he is there with us all the time

Hello everyone I was born catholic but something was missing now I have so many doubts for some reason I am here now i don’t know all or a lot yet still learning about god which is beautiful I know it will be a long journey but here is where I am happy and I feel it in my hearth I just will like to get help on how to start teaching my kids the right way yes I was born catholic but also I didn’t follow my religion haven’t been in church in so long so please any help will be appreciated it’s never to late right?iam a 30years old mother of 4 kids under 8 I lost my dad do to COVID 3 months ago and I feel lost un happy I feel like my world has ended iam not me anymore a piece of me is gone and fisically in pain feel like doing nothing not joy but I have to for my kids please pray for me to find my way to god thank you all

the old generation had and had not respect for God actually. Speaking from experience. They didnt seem to feel bad about sin of lying, gossip, judgement... often partaking in this behavior as if it was normal. At least here in Catholic Belgium.

The fear of the Lord (YHWH) in Scripture is usually associated with an imperative to do the right thing, or to refrain from doing wrong or evil. And the reason for this is, "so it may go well with you and so you may enjoy long life". See: Deuteronomy, chapters six through seven.

I love God but fear him. I want to follow his commands, and I seek his conviction. I seek to do better so I can live holy, I don’t want to live in sin. I have faith and believe in our Lord Jesus, I want to to be saved and bring others to heaven. My relationship with God matters to me and I want to keep growing and strengthening my bond with our Lord Almighty.
If you met him you’d understand. His presence alone radiates a force of such magnitude that it feels like the gravity of your own body is making you collapse infinitely, an anxious feeling, while also being filled with euphoric excitement that makes you want to shout praises at him. Glorious is the only way to describe him You won’t be able to look directly at him, and instinctually you will avert your gaze as his radiance is too much to bear. He doesn’t use words, he’s telepathic. He isn’t limited by language, he can project the information he wants to convey directly into your mind. Having god push something from his mind into mine, I felt like I understood things that were impossible to understand. Solutions to Paradoxes seemed simple. All of existence made sense. The mechanism that makes Consciousness was trivial. But having that in my head was destroying me. I didn’t want him to exit my mind. I feared and loved him. It was euphoric and frightening. I think my mind was going to break under the stress. We’re fragile. He can’t talk to you directly without pushing your soul to its limit, without nearly shattering an unprepared soul. He will subtly make suggestions from afar. He will make unlikely events happen just to let you know he’s there. He will put you in positions (like making you sad and listen to a song) that will give you a solution to the question you asked him. It’s a light touch. A heavy hand and direct contact may destroy you forever.

I loved this video so so much. The Scriptures are so powerful. Thank you. We need to fear God as He is Holy. That is so so true that not many churches preached that anymore as they soft serve the Word and bring God down to their level of entertainment… He loves us so much as to die on the cross so we need to love, fear and respect Him as our Heavenly Father. When we realise the power of the cross and what it took for Christ to die for our sins we would have an even more longing to live a life that is pleasing unto Him.
