I call this the "continuum". I do it every day through scales and arpeggios over songs or random chord changes i make up. You are great Adam! and this is a great lesson!

Wow Juan, good for you. That’s great. Where did you learn it from? Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

I read a Guitar Player interview/lesson with Larry Carlton years ago and he mentioned Joe Pass giving him a similar exercise “the 8th note test” at their first lesson, where he made Larry play constant 8th notes over a blues form to see where he was at harmonically

Great tune to practice this on. Tritones abound.. this seems to give the player the forward vision of landing on the chord tones at will. It sounds adlib, but you give up the secret when you say,"when you practice this". People actually think Parker and Dizzy were just that talented. Truth is, they practiced, a lot.

Thanks Liron! Sometimes it seems frustrating when some channels get hundreds of thousands of views teaching a simple D chord. But I’m trying to fill a niche not a lot are doing. Hopefully one day people will start noticing more. Hope to see you around here more often. Cheers!

@@JazzRockswithAdamyes. There is a lot of people just learning to play music and too many deceptive people telling them they can teach them in an hour. And THEY make all the money while the student wasted their money and time and put the instrument down forever. It’s sad.

When did you order? I don’t see anything listed with the name you’re using here. I don’t have any lessons that come with a CD.

Great video and really like your hat btw. Lol I've been wondering do you know the model, brand, etc... it appears to be straw but perhaps it's the color that makes it look like it could work year round. Mine on the other hand is definitely not meant for the warmer months. Not your typical question on here but I've been dying to know!! Lol

Thanks Dan! It’s a Bailey hat. Believe it or not, it’s 55% paper, 45% polyester! I have many hats. Some wool, some straw. I have another one that’s exactly the same as the one you’re inquiring about. It’s held up for at least 10+ years that I wear all the time. Oh, and thanks about the video too. ;^)

@@JazzRockswithAdam thanks for the info and you're welcome! Gotta throw at least some video content commentary in there with our hat talk right! 😆 seriously though I've been enjoyed all your videos I've seen so far. You're become my favorite on RU-vid! Thanks again and hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend.
