It's not compulsory. If in the marriage contract, it's written that the man will not marry another wife then the man can not marry another woman unless they divorce.
To explain this he went back to the days of prophet SAW and explained the primary reasons of polygamy. To protect and support the widows, who lost their family members at war. But he didn't do it in his polygamy videos. He said there are excess females than males, to protect them from being 'public property' men needs to have multiple wives.
I do not agree with your first Women go to war too nowadays. And for the second on, I think the reason is not about protection because women nowadays can protect themselves. It is more about proportionality. For example if in the world there is 1 man and 3 women, in order for the other two to have a descendence, they have to marry the one man.

Titus 1:6 in the New Testament says that any man who is leading in a church should be the husband of one wife. Paul then goes on to list other qualities a leader in a church should have, indicating that he is to set an example for the rest of the church--forcing us to conclude that yes, Paul believes that monogamy is God's ideal. He talks similarly in I Corinthians 5-7. And of course, Jesus identified Adam and Eve (a monogamous marriage) as God's ideal for marriage in Matthew 19. Well.. First of all, marraige is an institution.. A religious and legal bond in which each individual is obligated to provide for the other both spiritually and materialistically. Is prohibited to have more than one wife in Islam the reason being is because the man can't be just and equal so it becomes injustice!. You take about sunnah, start with your fard also Muslim brothers ignore the sunnah of fasting on mondays and Thursdays, they ignore the sunnah of praying 2 Rakats before fair, they forget that Tahajjud is a sunnah. The only sunnah they remember is to marry 4 wives... as Muslims we must fear Allah swt and not change the deen to suit our needs, unless we want Allah punishment to come upon us, two or three or four. Surat Al-Ma’idah 5:8 “A man who has two wives and who is completely inclined to one and who ignores the other emerges with one side of his body paralysed in the Day of Judgment.” (Hadith; Ibn Majah, Nikah, 47; Mishkat al-masabih, 2/196) A woman does not consent to share her husband with another woman under normal circumstances, and no woman would like to marry a married man unless she has to. It is a necessity of belief that polygamy is right. However, to believe it does not necessarily mean for a woman to consent to the second wife and approve it. No believer father would like his son-in-law to marry a second, third or fourth woman along with his daughter. The jealous nature of the woman and the affection of the father for his daughter disapproves this. As a matter of fact, the daughter of our beloved Prophet, Sayyidah Fatima, objected to her husband, Ali’s marrying of a second woman. If it weren’t permissible to object, Sayyidah Fatima, who was brought up by our Prophet, would not have objected. The Messenger of Allah would have warned her and ordered her to consent to her husband’s wish. However, it did not take place like that. On the contrary, the Messenger of Allah, who saw that his daughter was worried, asked Ali to give up his wish and told him that if he did not give it up, he could marry another woman after divorcing Sayyidah Fatima. He did not consent to Ali’s second marriage to depress his daughter. By considering that act of the Messenger of Allah, it can be stated that Muslim daughters and fathers may object to the second marriage of their husband or son-in-law.

I have a question. We know that In Islam free mixing between male and female is Haram. And any physical touch between 2 Gayeri Mahram is considered as fornication and serious sin in Islam. Many women are also converting to Islam. And saying someone isn’t good enough doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing. If she can’t give babies for example, then she isn’t good enough sexually. That’s a fact. How is it bad to say that?

I have seen so many videos of this guy. He is right about some things and COMPLETELY WRONG about others. Just because he says "scientifically proven" after everything it doesn't mean that he knows what he is talking about, certainly not about the menstrual cycle of women. If you look at the logic given by him, it has some basis to it. What he is saying is that if a man marries more than 1 woman, the child will know the mother and father. On the other hand, if a woman will marry more than 1 man then the child will know the mother but will not be sure who the father is. It is an irrefutable logic. Ok here we go, the only reason men can marry up to four times is because it is mandatory for the man to provude for his family and by marrying another women he can give her emotional support and her rights. Thats why men can marry multiple times. Now as to why can't women marry multiple times that is because the child born won't know his father, now as to why that is important is because the child will be mehram to one and non me hr am to the other. It will cause issues in distribution of property when the father dies and the fact that the daughters born will be non mehram to the other husband of the women. And, one man marrys 4 women then they will live in houses provided by him. One women marrys four men then who will she live with? If all her husbands calls her for sex then to whom will she go? And plus its haram to marry a woman who is already in wedlock of another man as said in Surah Nisa. I hope this answers your question

Another point which Dr. Zakir didn’t mention is that if both genders were able to marry more then 1 then it would be a bit chaotic , let’s say a man has 3 wives and 1 of the wives is married to 2 men and 1 of those 2 men is married to 4 wives . Please don’t get this whole thing wrong.. This was something intended for the society during the olden times, a time when battles were common. These battles were fought by mostly men, which resulted in a lot of women being widowed, and children orphaned. In such a society, polygamy was introduced in islam as a way to care for the women and children. But, polygamy is NOT a necessity. It is not something that is so commonly practised today. Since it was prescribed during the time of the Prophet (PBUH), there isn’t any provision to change it. But this is not a neccesity upon any muslim to marry 4 women. In todays society, such a practice has no significance, because women are fully capable of living independently.

It will cause issues in distribution of property when the father dies and the fact that the daughters born will be non mehram to the other husband of the women. Can't believe he is talking rubbish and people are eating it up. Quran was written in a time of when the world was lot more of a savage place. The only reason why I see that the it was allowed in those times is because unfortunately women were helpless in those days, so marriage allowed the women to have more security in the sense of character and physical safety. We are not in those times anymore and if a women can provide the same in today's day and age the same thing a man was able to provide a women in those times then a women also had rights to marry how many husband's she wants. If the wife says she doesn't want her husband marrying another wife, she can write it in the martial contract and the husband is then not allowed to marry another wife

If science tells us that a man is more polygamous in nature compared to woman it does not tell us that a woman is NOT polygamous at all. So, it should have been dependant over the woman. And Allah has made different roles for different genders for their proper functioning and interlocking in society . If you had to apply "equality" to every single aspect of your life, you wouldn't be able to because of the contradictions. For eg, in Islam, a man is responsible for the functioning of the family. His wife CAN work, but not necessarily (if she doesn't want to). This all makes no sense. If a man has more than 1 wife how can he emotionally support them all fully? And secondly, if a man is so interested in supporting women financially in order to be good he can do that even without marrying. And also let's say a man has 4 wives and each has 5 children how can he emotionally be available for 20 children???
Lool I'm muslim and I personally will be content with one woman. But lets be real which guy wants to be a second husband haha also no one forcing the woman to marry the man who already has a wife that's a conscious decision that shes made. The most important form of equality is that regardless of gender we are all judged the same when it comes to our deeds.
There is a practical issue here too. When the wife is pregnant, she cannot provide her multiple husbands with their sexual needs. Yes the baby is of a particular husband, but what about others. If three husbands each goes for kid with the same wife in a row, that's almost three years of no sexual activity among the husbands and wife. Husbands will just run after prostitutes being dry for three years, which makes this whole thing really impractical.

zr. sahb, the logic that a father can't be identified is an old myth. so kindly use more apprehendable argument that makes sense in today's world. Perhaps an easy answer is that God wished it to be so, as He wished to create the world and create all humans without asking for our justoficafions. He is the Boss and can make any rules as He wishes. We humans can only respond to queries based on our limited understandings. And our logic in answering such questions may not be the absolute correct one either. So let the people chose whatever suits them best, as long as they are not harming others with their decisions. If a women doesnt allow a man to marry more women, she can simply break their marriage contract and ask for a legal divorce. Why to complicate things for other human beings. Some women may chose not to get married at all and some may chose to have multiple boyfriends instead of a husband. That is their choice as well. First of all to be logical. You need to know that there are more women in this world then men. Just look at the gender ratio in America. So the only solution for this problem is to marry more than once otherwise millions of womens will remain unmarried. Now in Islam it is not compulsory to marry more then once. @@voldemortgaming9393 while the female to male at infant birth ratio may be true (haven’t checked the stats for that) that still doesn’t apply to non war contexts because during war men of marriageable age would die. Currently different societies have roughly the same ratio of men to women. And if you are arguing that population-wide there is more men than women than that wouldn’t make sense because only people of a certain age, economic status (providing for family) sound mind, etc are allowed to get married and have a family. So that means the amount of marriageable men is less than the total number of men. Same goes for women but they do not have the added financial responsibility. You need to consider these factors when looking at marriage. It cannot be based on numbers alone because there are a lot of factors that contribute to a successful and Islamic marriage than numbers and ratios. When you add in all these other factors, the ideal way is for 1:1 monogamy. . The only purpose for more than wife was to help the widows and orphan girls in a societal culture where women have male guardianship, and needed this during time’s of war when Muslims were very low in number. Now it is the fastest growing religion in the world. Globally, men and women eligible for marriage are roughly equal but depends on society. There are some where there are more men than women-doesn’t mean women can have more than one husband even in the age of DNA testing, reproductive health etc. If a man marries for selfish reasons or reason of lust then God swt will judge him. It has been proven that polygamy psychologically affects women and children negatively (there’s been a lot of scientific evidence for this) and so it can only be done in certain extreme situations (with the primary purpose of helping widows and orphans!)
