Why Don't Adults Have Anxiety And The Other New Emotions In Inside Out 2?
Inside Out provided a fresh, funny, and heartwarming perspective about the emotions we feel every day when it premiered in 2015. The main characters, physical representations of joy, sadness, anger, fear, and disgust, helped the eleven-year-old Riley navigate her life after a big move from her childhood home. The film emphasizes the importance of accepting and feeling one’s emotions, even the negative ones, including sadness. However, despite this message, the film focuses solely on these five emotions, as the other people, such as Riley’s parents, also have these same core emotions calling the shots.
Recently, a trailer for Inside Out 2 and a promotional poster promised the arrival of new emotions to assist Riley in navigating her teenage years. These new emotions are anxiety, ennui, embarrassment, and envy. As people leave their childhood behind and grow up, they change emotionally, mentally, and physically. These changes likely contribute to Riley’s new emotions because they’re typical of the average teenager. However, it does raise some prominent questions, like why none of the adults or other people featured in the film have the new emotions? In today’s video, we’re trying to determine some possible explanations.
