Why don’t the Avengers help the X-Men? It’s a glaring issue if the supposed good guys wouldn’t intervene to save a social group that’s constantly attacked. Especially considering that two mutants, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch, have been on the team since Avengers #16.
The two teams have had friction in the past, and especially on a personal level between Rogue and Captain Marvel. Rogue and Captain America. And Rogue and basically everyone else. But one reason by Tony Stark in Avengers Vol. 9 #11 is that the mutants actually have more numbers than the Avengers. They have hundreds of mutants to the seven Avengers. Even still, The Avengers actually DO help the X-Men when the threat is too big.
They first teamed up in Uncanny X-Men #9. They fought against Magneto in Avengers #53 and again in The Children’s Crusade. They helped when New York was turned into a RenFaire in Uncanny Xmen #191, Thor has constantly fought Apocalypse for hundreds of years. But the Avengers have also been there against Onslaught, they fell beside them in Days of Future Past and Age of Apocalypse, and Tony still decided to help the X-Men after the Fall of Krakoa with their own dwindled numbers.
