I believe your sarcasm is genuine. So I'll say these genuinely. It's a good thing you made a comparison of both at the beginning. But every time I see those comparisons (from left or right), it's usually cherry picked statements and events that suit preexisting narratives. In reality, both have said and done nasty things... things that give me both Buhari and Tinubu vibes. Giving examples will turn this into an essay but I'll give 1. You are learned enough to find out others if you want. During fundraisings, whenever Trump raises money from 'bad events', you'll see extensive smearing of his character on lefty networks. When Biden does the exact same thing, these networks go silent but you see it on conservative networks. The problem now is that most of their audiences are mutually exclusive. So each side's biases are continually fed without any relationship to actual reality. It's why during street interviews, Trump protesters rarely can make a non-fallacious defense. That doesn't change their minds though, because the matter has become more sentimental than logical. As an 'outsider', I think I see why the Trump movement exists: a desperate reaction to decadence in US political establishment. It's the same thing happening across Europe today. But you keep seeing 'far-right' this or that yet they don't ask why this is happening. Take Obama for example: a man that talks, walks and acts the part. Yet, he was a chronic liar (surpassed probably only by Biden). The things he did across Africa and the Middle East make one wonder whether these guys aren't just Nazi sociopaths in disguise. Yet, people rarely remember his negatives. Why? The media doesn't spin them. It's the same privilege Macron enjoys. Fortunately, reality doesn't lie. That's why people are revolting. When things get this bad, what matters is whether a candidate can do what he is supposed to do, not whether he uses swear words or sleeps around. Trump has demonstrated that ability. He's not going away anytime soon. PS: it's utterly preposterous to praise the socialists. It's as if you never read history.
