Why Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is Tenkaichi 4 & Not Raging Blast 3. what's going on you guys this is your boy RBG bringing you another video on Dragon Ball sparking zero and I wanted to make a topic regarding something that the DBZ phandom has been talking about since the trailer launched for this game and that's if it's a true successor SL sequel to Dragon Ball Z Budokai tin kaii 3 or Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 because although both of these games from each of their respective series shares the same basic idea many phant have made it a point to Showcase why they are so different and why sparking zero should expand on one of these titles formula if you notice many people have agreed that this feels more like a sequel to Tin kaii 3 based off of the footage we've gotten showcasing that they are using onetoone combos exactly from that game not to mention that it Bears the subtitle name sparking like the original Japanese titles did for the tin kaii games you got tin kaii 1 which is originally called Dragon Ball Z sparking tin kaii 2 which is originally called Dragon Ball Z sparking Neo and ten kaii 3 which was originally called Dragon Ball Ball Z sparking Meer and now we have Dragon Ball sparking zero which let's call it spade a spade here if it was translated to a western name it would most likely be called Dragon Ball Z Budokai.

I also like how in raging blast they did the team supers so like if you had krillin on your team Goku and I think like kid Gohan you could do that spirit bomb where they bounce it back from the Saiyan saga

Plus, the Family Kamehameha that Goku, Gohan, and Goten all used against Broly in Broly: Second Coming. Although, in RB2 it is only Gohan and Goten that use it if I remember correctly.

I hope they do use some of the aspects from raging blast. like if you get hit with a ultimate beam attack then a cutscene will play and it shows that you are getting vaporized. just one of the cool things i like about rb2.

I personally feel like xenoverse is a good example of character models that look like plastic action figures, at least compared to raging blast. However sparking zero, kakarot, and fighterz look like a masterpiece

The lighting is what makes them look so dated. The lighting and shading in Xenoverse sucks and it really does a disservice to the models that they use because they aren't that bad

After this game releases, they should use the engine to remake the original 3 as a collection (like crash trilogy did) and rerelease them under their japanese names for ps5, xbox, steam and whatever new switch they're going to announce will be (if it can run it). A perfect reason to get new fans to be reintroduced to the original games and also cementing the japanese naming styles. That and they can also use this as a reason to add stuff exclusive to certain versions or regions to make a complete package!

i remember after finding out that the character roster for raging blast was lacking compared to tenkaichi i felt disappointed. it felt like a big backtrack. i still prefer the budokai games but the tenkaichi budokai games were cold. my favorite part was the what if scenarios.

One thing I’ll say. Is that as much as I LOVE the look of Sparking Zero. It carries over one of my biggest gripes with Kakarot. The character models. Something about them…feels off. I think it’s how skinny they seem. I specifically notice it with Goku. Like, I didn’t really feel a big difference between base Goku’s build vs God Goku. When there SHOULD be. Like as sleek as the models are, and they are great. Something about them feels weird. I’ve always raised an eyebrow when people say it looks JUST like the anime. When it doesn’t to me. OG Budokai Tenkaichi and Raging Blast look a LOT like the characters. And the models in FighterZ look just like the characters. But, something about sparking Zero seems off. I’ll wait until closer to release to really judge it though.

I've seen some point this out but I think it boils down to the eras showcased in the trailer. People had an issue with how Saiyan Saga Goku and Vegeta looked less muscular. But I would argue that they're actually accurate because they weren't that big in the first season.

Yeah, that Vegeta (End) Super Saiyan face didn't look good at all, but Super Vegeta's face looked great. They'll probably fix all that including the muscles and proportions like you said.

I mean the fact that they are using the _Sparking_ name in the title, it's pretty much a guarantee that this is a continuation of the _Sparking_ (i.e. Tenkaichi) series. I never actually got the _Raging Blast_ games nor did I get _Burst Limit_ , but I did get the Budokai games and Budokai Tenkaichi games on the PS2 (and of course Infinite World). That circular meter of the _Raging Blast_ series seems like a step backwards. I also agree that the _Raging Blast_ games do look a bit off in terms of the in-game character models even though graphically it looks better than the _Budokai Tenkaichi_ games. It definitely does have that more plastic-look. I feel like in general the _Raging Blast_ series was just trying to be something new and differentiate itself from previous series; kind of like what we got with the _Xenoverse_ games.

The worst glitch in Raging Blast 2 was the Super Rising glitch which completely paralysed/stunned the other character online, giving you a free attack

For me what confirms it is a sequel and a true successor is that the characters are the same as bt3, having 3 z goku ( early,mid,late) and 4 z vegeta ( scouter,normal, second form, majin) adding a fourth and a fifth "super"version each with their unique respective transformations.

I got into raging blast late and I was playing budokai my whole life my older brothers had all the games and thats how I got into DBZ in general when I got the ps3 and got raging blast I was kinda disappointed and didnt like raging blast more than BT3 or even B2 or original budokai at times so me personally Im glad its BT4/Sparking Zero

They are the same with very minimal differences, it's like comparing NBA 2k11 to NBA 2k23, different gameplay controls, etc but core fundamentals is still the same. I don't mind either, same developers and animations too, we don't need raging blast if we got Tenkaichi

“Sparking Zero” is the Japanese name for the “Tenkaichi” series it’s really not that complicated. They even say it’s the next installment in the “Tenkaichi” series on the website & in the trailer.

@@Gfromda23 Not really. RB’s combat is just better and more in depth than BT3’s ever was, the skill ceiling is also much higher. BT3 is essentially just a DB simulator game while RB/RB2 are genuine fighting games that can be played competitively.

@@thelettucebarrel7784 bt3 can be played competitively too just look at battle hour and look at the competitive games on youtube and see how fluid and distinct and how especially fast it is compared to rb2. Rb was way slower and just not as fluid, reason why prefer tenkachi movement over RB. Only thing that was was really good was combo cancels. I respect ur opinion tho but ngl I hope sparking gameplays plays exactly like a more improved bt3 i hope. I don’t want slower, clunkier gameplay. And also I hated the impacts in raging blast did not feel the same in tenkachi and the beams were way smaller and had no impact

I assume the only reason why FighterZ doesn't have transformations is because of balance reasons as animation has nothing to do with it. FighterZ is a traditional fighting game and that's what Arc Sys built the game around. Transforming wouldn't really do much plus a transformation has already been shown off in some of the Dramatic Finishes like with Gogeta vs Janemba. It's not really too much additional work as you just swap out the hair model for a different one or the entire character with some in between animations. FighterZ does have the best models in my eyes and Kakarot is right behind it for released games. Raging Blast still has the superior models to my eyes when comparing against Tenkaichi. Sparking Zero has really gone into some nice effects work though, kind of like an evolution of what Kakarot is doing

Because Tenkaichi 4 is what everybody better be hoping for over raging blast 3. Tenkaichi had everything. Raging blast dumbed everything down even the roster but had better graphics. Tenkaichi 4 on next gen will have qualities from both Tenkaichi and raging blast. They're both basically the same.

Even though Sparking Zero is a BT sequel, There are some elements that I want them to still use from Raging Blast series: -beam deflecting -clash ties -beam ultimates -ground teching (the cool slide animation when recovering just before landing) -customizable Supers (I hated waiting for blast stocks to use and ultimate)

Compared to rb2, DBZ BT3 had better speed of movement and combat, better exploits to combos and dragon dash manipulation and flanking, can't use walls to or own character to bounce enemies, ki poking, etc.. (just look at pro gameplay for tenkaichi, huge differences, search Grand Master Hawk he played bt3 on dbzbattlehour). Not limited or held back for simplicity, just so casuals can play for a month and leave it on shelf to collect dust!

It's not. Could not be further from Budokai Tenkaichi, I felt epileptic watching the trailer and just wait for all the DLC that should be included as normal content from the beginning 😆
