Why Dreamworks Should Make the Zelda Movie 

Ever Played twilight princess? Botw is in no way cinematic/cinematic looking... its a meditative Experience, Not a bombastic one. Making it Not as viable for a movie as the older games

Actually, I personally believe that for a BotW & TotK movie, they should go to the source of their inspiration: Ghibli Studio, they are perfect for animating a Zelda movie, specially if it's based on those two games.

@@felixputz5190 I was speaking more about the art style. And adding to that, Tears of the Kingdom has more action in the cutscenes (same art style), so it can be cinematic. Zelda isn't just about action, the adventure and exploring the world are huge parts of the series.

Or Illumination could simply make a faithful version of the Breath Of The Wild games, and show the world that they are more than just a children's animation company.

I agree. FSA is my personal choice, but WW has just as much potential.

At the same time, they’ve adapted books, old cartoons, and even toys to their success, so we already know they're more capable of adaptation than Pixar.

Studio Ghibli was the inspiration for it, they are the perfect guys for the job!!!

Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom all have voice acting, and people generally enjoyed that. It's Link who's a big point of contention on that though.

My casting. Link... Nobody. Zelda: Jodie Comer (she can do accents, which could help if they do Sheik). Ganondorf: Michael Wincott (dude's underrated, needs a win, and his voice is amazing)

Honestly, it's really not that bad. Zelda is the biggest problem in my opinion because her BOTW voice kinda sucks. Ganondorf has a TON of great voices to cast, and Link just needs a solid voice actor for a very few amount of lines and he will be golden. Remember, Link can and does talk, the games just don't make it intentionally obvious so this would be a good segway into more character depth for Link

@@biggiecheese2004 i literally do not get the hate for BOTW zelda's voice, she has a high british accent and it sounds like royalty for me. The VA did a good job imo.

I think for Illumination, Donkey Kong is definitely confirmed especially since it’s in the same universe as the Mario movie, and for Legend of Zelda I think Dreamworks is still a possibility, Metroid may even happen after the Legend of Zelda movies and also be released by Dreamworks maybe even Star Fox and Kid Icarus as well. Things like Kirby and Animal Crossing, seem like things more up Illuminations alley. Heck, I wouldn’t mind if we just got the Mario movie trilogy with the Donkey Kong movie spinoff and possible other Mario spin-offs from Illumination, although I’d be happy with just the DK movie, as well as a Legend of Zelda trilogy from Dreamworks and just left it at that because they’re probably the most iconic out of all the Nintendo series. Outside Nintendo I hope Disney ends up making a Kingdom Hearts trilogy and works with Square Enix for the films as well. Since Paramount is gonna have the Sonic trilogy, Illumination is gonna have the Mario trilogy with spinoffs, either Illumination or Dreamworks is probably gonna have a Legend of Zelda trilogy (hoping for Dreamworks and a trilogy) that just leaves Disney to make a Kingdom Hearts trilogy, and everything will feel complete in my opinion, like I wouldn’t add more or less, it would just feel complete in a sense, but maybe with a couple exceptions below. After all of those have been made I probably wouldn’t mind if Illumination made a Kirby movie and Dreamworks made a Metroid movie if they wanted to make those, but if they didn’t make these I wouldn’t mind either.

It would be the most marketable but not the best. Four Swords Adventures has easy to establish characters, it wouldn't be as strange to see Four different Links talking as it would be for one, the art style for the game and manga would make good adaptations on the big screen, the simplicity and color of this game could give the movie alot of personality, the light heartedness would work well. I honestly don't see the problem with Illumination making a Zelda movie as long as they choose the right game to take inspiration from.

@coryfreake9070 The problem with Illumination is they don't have the maturity to make a zelda game, no offense to them. They have too much comedy and all that going on for the seriousness in zelda. It's already speculated that DreamWorks would be ybe best option. Also, I do think that Wind Waker is now the better option. Four Swords Adventures may sound like a good idea, but it wasn't that popular of a zelda game so it wouldn't really catch people's eyes.

Here what evreybody overlooking it needs to follow the narrative of the original Nes games it short and simple for 1hr 30 Min movie and a way to establish the world and characters for first time viewers. Your forgetting "Zelda" is popular among gamers not casual audiences unlike mario.

Henry Cavill seems like a decent choice, or how about Chris Evans?

Link talks, he just doesn't get voice acting or dialogue. You can see him conversing in earlier games before BOTW with him explaining things in between dialogue, and in BOTW in literally states that he talks to Zelda sometimes after they bond

The movie to TV series idea ain't half bad. As far as Prince of Egypt, with 2D animation at the movies basically being extinct, the Puss in Boots style idea mentioned earlier would be a more likely scenario.

Most likely it would be a mash up of all the games, that way they can create a story that stands out from the games, but of course shouldn’t deviate from the games too much, after all it wouldn’t feel like Legend of Zelda if that was the case, kinda similar to what happened with the Mario movie, I think the ideal situation would be a Legend of Zelda trilogy with at least 2 hours run time for each movie, that way no scenes feel too rushed, but also not too long and so the most memorable aspects of the series as a whole can be represented, and I think Dreamworks should definitely be the studio to release them and with Nintendo’s assistance too.

@@unstableturtleduck It would be a step up for the franchise if they gave him a voice.... One that fits his personality from the games anyway (unlike the cartoon or CD-I games).

@@CMWaters910 it's murky waters though, as you mentioned in the vid the Zelda fandom is a lot more sensitive and they'd have to do it perfectly Knowing how they did with the Mario movie, they might play it extremely safe

With the episodic structure of a series having similarities to the level-based structure of a video game, any game can become a series. Both would rock for Zelda, but I feel like making a cohesive, well-paced, and satisfying movie would be the bigger achievement.

@@CMWaters910A movie for Legend of Zelda and better yet a trilogy would also have a more memorable impact on audiences as a whole as well and it’ll be more likely to reach more people, and thereby only making the Legend of Zelda series more popular than it already is, especially if the movies are at least as good as the Mario movie, and if they end up being better from both a critics and audiences point of view it’ll only help these movies even more. So yeah making a cohesive, well-paced and satisfying movie would be a way bigger achievement like you said.

Imagine if Dreamworks made a Legend of Zelda trilogy that had the first movie mostly inspired by Ocarina of Time, but also included things from Skyward Sword and other classic Zelda games for NES/SNES, the second movie being mostly based on Majora’s Mask, but also included things from Wind Waker as well as other Zelda games that were released for the Gameboy/Advance/DS/3DS, and finally the 3rd movie being mostly based on Twilight Princess, but also included things from BOTW and TOTK. With the 3 movies being mostly based on the child timeline, this could arguably be the best way to make a Legend of Zelda trilogy while also representing the other games from the series at the same time, even if it’s only brief references.

ALttP, FSA, WW, HW, and MM would work better.
