Great video! I'm 36 years old and I'm still working on improving my skills, so I really appreciate the tips here. Seeing as I can't run or leap like I used to, I need all the skill I can generate haha
Hi, Great video! I don't actually play basketball, but after seeing this went out and bought one so that I can do your drills the way you do them. The reason is that I think it will help with my overall mobility and help in my martial arts training! Love that relaxed and coordinated way of moving. Keep up the good work!
thank you this actually helped a lot because i would make basically all of these mistakes and not realize why when i would watch myself play that was the reason i looked stiff
Coach,I'm one of your subscribers and I always watching your basketball videos . You're coaching techniques is so very effective when I'm using it in the b'court. Thanks coach (Get handles basketball).
Hi! I'm writing because I have a problem with crossovers. I know them very well, but during the game I am afraid to use them. can I ask for any advice?
Same. Just get a good crossover and when you do cross, have your other arm in front moving back and forth so it looks like your moving it like your going left or right. Like Iverson crossover
@@GetHandles Bro i dont know why, when i am alone i play good do nice move with plastic barriers, But when i play real match i get scared when someone is running towards me. Do you have any solution?
i cant handle anywhere but on the court because if i do handle in my house ill get whooped 💀 but even if i play out side on the streets my neighbor would be mad smh
The tip about getting your fingers as wide on the ball as you can and making sure your flicking your wrist just elevated me. I've been playing for years but I always played post so there was no need for me to dribble. Now I'm playing guard and I need this skill. Thanks coach!
1. Bend the Wrists, increase ball in hand time 2. Keep hands close on crossovers (again, maximizing ball in hand time) 3. Hip Mobility, allows you to get lower, can practice with touching the ground on crossovers 4. Getting a good grip, palm ok, finger ends touching ball (from other vid, incorporating dribbling and passing to suicide drills)
Sandi Richard I think that’s a mistake you have to try what u been learning in games but practice more than u play and keep adding things to your game but u will choke and won’t know how to implement it and most likly u won’t be successful on learning how to implement what u learned in a game so in a way that’s practice too you do what you want but I’m tryna help and if your super serious play against good competition good luck to you
I’m left handed so it’s backwards for me. Going to my right is an absolute no go and that’s a deal breaker. Having the patience to practice it is the hard part.

Hey im a kid my age is 9 When i grow up i wanna be a basketball player! I know how to play but im not that good You are really helping me out! Thank you sir.
Lmao i was a check to all of this 3 years ago, i used to play like klay thompson, just defending and spot up shots, but when i watched your kyrie irving crossover vids, i looked foolish on the court and the bigger kids kept on picking on me and say that im like a pickle, so i trained day and night, i asked my dad to play with me every morning before school, now im 13 and i found my old videos when my dad filmed our games, goddddddd! I was really stiff like a potato
Swinging the basketball with both hands together makes it harder for the defender to steal the ball. It's either they try, foul you, or make the steal.
The way you're dribbling was considered carrying for a very long time. According to the NBA rulebook, it's still a carry. They just don't call it most of the time.
why dribbling is hard for someone? because the have short arms, small hands or the havent practice. thats the real reason and he didnt tell it on anywhere in his video. you are welcome no need to watch the video
3:00 my Biggest problem for years and I could never figure out why all my dribbling training never paid off. I had weak hips the whole time and the worst part about it is I’m a runner too. Good thing though. That means I have a LOT of room for improvement 🥳 Easy dribbling to wherever I want on the court has my name on it. I guarantee that.
For years I wasn't really into basketball, I was just a catch-and-shoot 3 and D type of player because I was a shitty ball handler and the only reason I was in teams in the first place was because I was a good shooter and defender, but now that I'm more into the game, I've been working on my dribbling skills and even play making.
Dude i was total zero at dribbling and crossover moves. After 5 days of practicing i can make combo of cross, behind the back at least 3-4 times on mediocre speed. I hope ill do those tricks when i have an opponent in front of me :D. Thanks a lot mate!
Those who are telling that what he said is carry ,but the refs just do not call it ,I just want to tell u that if u think these are carry than a lot of nba players are carrying .Steph curry , kyrie irving are one of the best players now ,and they are famous for these dribbles which u call carry.A person who is trying to help u ,pls do not be rude to them just don't follow it or don't watch it . Maybe U do not enjoy watching it or it is not helpful for u ,but it might help others .And if his head is brighter than your future ,than your future is dark not dark really dark
coach of 30+ years here with a quick fundamentals question... I've always emphasized with feeder program kids to avoid dribbling the ball between their feet on crossovers but to instead pull the ball back hip-to-hip for greater ball protection. Does your "keep your hands close enough to almost clap on a crossover" teaching point contradict that? Thanks in advance!
A chiropractor can help with wrist flexibility, hip mobility and a sore back for all athletes. The focus can be on rehab and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization.
I never understood how players can dribble outside on the streets, asphalt etc with the uneven ground and not be phased by the ball bouncing off in a slightly different angle... I could never master that ...
Been doing it for years, still haven’t figured out the answer to this.. I honestly just adjust my game and try to keep it simpler, there’s not much else you can do about it.
wesley aurelus the overall technique is the same for big men, a few minor things they'll want to focus on more though, like getting the body low. I have a post moves video coming in a few months though!
For some reason this video isn’t helping at all I need help with everything but you need to be more specific with hip and wrist mobility we need drills and learning points
true but i dont care Basketball is my Passion ill keep pushing and pushing till i become better ill apply this to my practice every day cant go play every time yet because covid-19 is still here where not finish yet so for me its better to just train at home frist while this pandemic is still here hmm get handles basketball what advice for me has a 24year old wanting to become pro and even i have recent injury i broke my left wrist i had a bad fall when i was playing but i still love the game truth is i should have start playing when i was 17 years old well not every person has a good story in their life and not every Player is Perfect and when i was younger i allways get sicks and me and mom allways go the hospital but buttom line i love to learn how to play the game the right way and in a safest way to avoid injury's *late mention* im left handed and im 5"9 n a half almost 5"10
Anyone got any tips because I haven’t played in like 4 or 5 days and my dribbling and shooting is all the way off and it’s frustrating like I’m air balling
I’d say get better at stationary dribbling first. Then those learned skills should transfer over. After you’re decent while standing still then start doing some back and forth or up and down the court drills. That’s what I’m about to start doing.
Because the brain. Neurogically, some of us are really geared toward the right side (of the brain), bring those bad habits to (for instance) a right-handed person. Muscle memory and practice should help.
huh? what did you just say? sorry i was busy looking at the rim in the background imagining people dunking on that for 11 minutes. great video though , this teaches a lot
