To me, AP sounds harder and a waste of time. I’m in a high school program where I’ll be able to graduate with 2 associate degrees as well as a certificate and nurse aid certification on top of my diploma. To me, college classes are more worth it to me. I’ll be able to work throughout my time at a 4 year college while others will struggle to find a good job and have to get adjusted to college classes. I’m almost done with the program and I don’t regret doing it. Best decision ever. Good video!

Dual enrollment also can save you thousands of dollars you would usually spend in college. Plus it’s nice the credits are guaranteed as long as you pass, just like high school classes.

Great video! Agree entirely, although in terms of the “psychological” aspect some might feel uncomfortable or even more intimidated by an environment of an much older group of people. Although, I can say, personally, that’s not an issue and if you’re capable of taking DE (dual enrollment) it probably won’t be.

Çürłÿ Vëë yea I get what you mean because going into it I was a bit intimidated myself but I know it was the best choice for myself after breaking everything down pros and cons like I did in this video so I went forward with it and realized it’s not as bad as I thought and actually felt better about it

I totally agree with your opinion on which is better for sure, you made a great point about it boosting your confidence being in college classes and the resources also at your disposal, I didn’t really think of that but it’s TRUE!! Ty

I go to a dual credit high school where we can do dual enrollment in our second semester of Freshmen year. I love it there and I have saved tons of time and money. At the rate I'm going, I can to end up with an Associates of Science in my senior year!

Dual has a real professor while AP has a regular high school teacher

Ngl this is little biased. Not all colleges accept dual enrollment and AP is applicable everywhere. On top of that by taking AP you are showing that you are willing to take more rigor.

which classes did you take in dual enrollment? Do you have advice on which classes to take? Im a junior and I want to start dual enrollment but idk what I should take.

I would highly recommend taking the general college classes before you go to in depth, let’s say if you take like 3 biology classes and you decide to be a business major then they will go to waste. Start out taking, college algebra, English, humanities, classes that everyone has to take at first

The DE credits may get you college credit at SOME colleges but you are missing a vital piece of information. The AP and IB courses are MUCH more intensive and the education you get with them is on a much higher level. Do you want to skip through easily, or do you want a real education? College professors rue DE students in college because they are not all are truly prepared and their quality of work is sophomoric compared to AP and IB students. You can get DE in 7 weeks in Some places compared to 35-37 weeks for AP and IB classes. How is that equal? If a DE student sat for an AP of IB exam and passed with at least a 3-4 them ok….but otherwise you are cheating yourself. While it’s good for some, it’s not good for others, especially the academically gifted.
