@talkingAfrica the problem with Tinubu is bigger. Nigerians are mostly clueless of what is ar stakes. The setting up of the euro currency have made Germany the top economic power of Europe. The setting up of ecowas eco currency will do the same to Nigeria and even with the impact of African Free Trade Zone, Nigeria could be projected in the top 10 of the World biggest economies, xhich could make Nigeria a suoerpower reoresenting Africa and Africa voice internationally. But remember with economic power in the ecowas region will come political influence, in a region when france is trying to mainting neocolonial domination in most of the ecowas countries. So the truth is that france is competing direclty in ecowas with Nigeria. Thats why Macron and Ouattara halted the launching of eco in 2019 by hijacking unannouncly the name eco for the cfa at a press confrerence by Ouattara and Macron alone in 2019. And this is also why france is trying to control Nigeria politics, remember Macron visit to Nigeria. They looked and they found a puppet they can control and put in power in Nigeria, that is Tinubu. They certainly have financed his presidential campaign. Remember, which country Tinubu visited first once elected ? france
Thank you for this wonderful and insightful commentary! This needs to be shown to people around the world. Far too many of them have no solutions other than criticizing the coup, and continuing the status quo, which is a dead end for the people.
Indeed! Hoping this video reaches many more people. The people have been misled and deceived for too long. There cannot be democracy when there is mass poverty in a rich land.
Great video on the regional context, kudos! You must publish a video discussing the ideological leanings of the groups making these coups / revolutions. The only thing that transpires to the world is the anti-imperialism, this commendable and a necessary starting point but not a clear indicative of an ideological framework.
You’re right. There are already a few positive signs but not enough to draw conclusions. And it is still early days. Hopefully, these coup leaders turn out to be true anti-imperialists and pro-people. When I find enough concrete acts and policies from them, I am definitely going to make that video. Appreciate the solidarity!✊🏿
Indeed, indeed...💯 Hopefully these leaders of the coup are about collectively helping build their people out of poverty and also develop and fortify the nation of Niger for a new, positive better future. Otherwise this military coup doesn't amount to anything "well-meaning" in the end other than a "new oppressive regime"... Let's definitely hope that doesn't become the case here...
@@jedmask9484 true brother. What is most important is the improvement of the peoples lives. Looking to make a video soon on the encouraging signs I am seeing. Let’s remain hopeful whiles being on our guard
If democracy was only to ensure people can vote freely and their vote being counted, then it’s nothing. If it’s not to ensure the people that voted achieve decent jobs that can cover good living conditions, freedom, and so forth...
Are we still that tupid to not see that DEMOCRACY IS A SHAM? I support a one person ruled country like we were before you know who came. And I do not need to pamper their feeling or seek their validation by « showing Africans prefer demoncracy ». Demoncracy is the one thing keeping us where we are right now in 2023
Real democracy(government for the people) is not a scam. What is actually a scam is the western-style democracy of two major parties who do not care about the people and take turns to deceive and oppress them.
Democracy is not just the selection of leaders thru elections or the existence of a constitution. Democracy is the distribution of political power and the distribution of the wealth of the nation so that the opportunities of every citizen to live a decent life is attainable. If and when the military coup leaders are able to deliver these then we can honestly say that the military coups are part of the democratic processes in the life of that nation.
Coup or revolution African style , take the SA ANC and Mugabe's Zimbabwe , fast foreword , now look at how that worked at the time and finally today turned out for a select body/group of people , as for the rest ? that's how Africa works and nothing will change it
Whatever system which does not guarantee the Well-being of the people or the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people must be jettisoned. No system is good in itself but of the greatest happiness it guarantees.
How can Africa be the Richest Continent on Earth and the People are STILL POOR. Education learn the children at school about their Resources and Minerals and what they can do with it. Teach the children about the Mining Industry. You learn and use your God Given Brain when you do something, so you get Insight. Insight are like hammer nails the more you do it the better you become in it.
Those who rob Africa also control the education system and media. As a result, they have miseducated and brainwashed Africans but the people cannot be fooled forever. Their time is up. Africa will rise
I never supported the coup But it's time to move on Time to develop Regardless of who is in charge Niger needs Metal ore smelters Oil refineries Electric power plants White collar jobs Vocational Education Not Arm sales Military intervention Child slavery to mine Cheap exports
