I get where Eric is coming from. Remember when you used to look forward to an album's release for months? Or even have things like album listening parties? I feel like nowadays they can drop it, but you'll either be streaming or downloading it.
Eric is pretty much correct. As an avid music lover myself I play the album or CD and while listening to the album I am reading the liner notes to know who wrote the song, the musicians names, the producers of the songs etc. When CD albums started coming out in the late 80s-early 90s the album would be almost an hour long (sometimes with interludes) having songs that are 4-5 minutes long. In the last 10 years songs have become shorter in time (3 minutes long with no instrumentation) albums lasting barely 40-44 minutes long. Alot of people do not value music anymore as Eric says (getting it for free) and there is alot of garbage music out there. I have all of Eric Benet's albums on CD including the one he did with his sister Lisa.
It's like we're going back to the 60s with songs that are 2-2 1/2 minutes long....BORING.....I need to hear a full length song.....even a 12" version or what we used to say (The Long Version).😂
