Why ETS2 is better than ATS 

A quick FYI: some roads in the Nordic countries, the UK, Poland and Hungary are still carried over from the old Euro Truck Simulator 2 into ProMods.

I think the cities in ats are much better than in ets2, but ets2 is still better because it has much more support (more mods) and a bigger player base

I love both. Sometimes i just a need a lonely long drive through the desert of Nevada. US just has the more interesting nature. But yes the roads and cities are more interesting in europe. Greetings from boring Germany ;-)

A dream someday could travel from ETS2 to ATS and vice versa, buying the 2 games, for example going from California to Berlin with a job, or from Russia to New York.

It's all perspective, in my opinion. If we're looking at the development side, then yes ETS has been out longer than ATS. But ATS has unique maps and it's a different environment. Personally I prefer ETS, I'm not exactly a big fan of the same monotonous roads. But there are ATS Map Combos that help combat this issue. So it's down to personal taste.

1. ETS2 is the older game and had already the road network prior release from ETS and its things. 2. Vanilla+map DLCs ETS2 has imbesile difficuty level, with some tiny exceptions, where ATS has a better network and all manner of challenging content for what has been put out so far. 3. ETS2 gets ahead only under hvy modding state and even then can be called inferior as you loose about 50% of your fps. 4. TruckersMP is a mod-server platform.The real multiplayer is in Convoy mode. Also, TMP has lag infested environment from local mods re-writing the game files and save edits doing the same thing, but worse. You lose about 80 to 90% of your fps been in the vicinity of such players. 50%~90% of those that use the client mod. 5. The main reason why the ATS servers are empty is the fact that SCS Software made the base ATS bland, unlike ETS2. Also you need to get some DLCs before you can have access to the fun content. 6. I agree that the modding in ETS2 is better made. You even have a well made BUS system. 7. Divercity is a given in ETS2 as it is in Europe. Europe is a continent, not a country. Simple fact. 8. 4:42 it seens you have not explored the modded content in ATS just yet... 9. Even with a map combo you have about 5 to 10 % challenging content in ETS2. 10. ETS2 has larger community. Why is that? Simple, most of the world uses the EU stile of trucks = higher exposure and accessibility. 11. The viewed content is due to the series of "Idiots on C-D road". If that is out of the way, both games are even. 12. 6:52, why not show you main profile map exploration...? 13. Again, ATS has a smaller map, but better made, unlike most of ETS2. In summary, no matter what we think, TMP made ETS2 a shit show that everybody loves.

I disagree with the more roads in ets i think that are has more country roads and dirt roads while ets has more highways. Personally I love both games with them both having pros and cons. ETs is more adventurous and ats is more relaxing.

In ATS when it first came out in truckersMP there was about 2500 people playing back then (someone said in the chat that they were all immigrants from calais)

Ats is better run ultra with 400 over 90 fps ,ETs2 bas map low fps and dlc below 30 fps Ats is more fun has real sound for all trucks over 60 pcs and real trailers the entire usa map and more

having played ets since 2014 I can comfortably agree ats is better trucking game than ets.ats best trucking game ever!!!

Ive just started playing ETS2 after playing ATS since its launch in 2016. I woukd have thought the performance would be the same but I get serious lagging/rubberbanding on ETS2 that I dont on ATS. GPU is sitting between 40-50% and CPU 10-15% FPS doesnt drop, it just lags. Any idea why? Ive tried everything even running it at 720p low same issue. Doesnt happen with ATS for me which I play at 1440p max setting with a solid 60fps.

I have both games since around 2017. I played ATS almost for 2000 hours and ETS2 around 500 hours and I have every map DLCs on both games, also tried Promods. I don't think that ETS2 have more varied environnements than ATS as both have deserts, mountains, plains, forests and ocean or seaside roads. I found more interesting and challenging dirt roads in ATS ( Washington and Montana states) than in ETS2. Big cities seems more well done in ATS in my opinion too. Don't forget that ATS is only in ONE country as opposed to ETS2. ETS2 is certainly more played because a majority of the world uses Euro-type trucks as opposed to american trucks that are mostly used un USA, Canada, some countries of central America and Australia. I'm part of the 100% that watch this video and prefer ATS over ETS2 probably because I'm Canadian and mostly because of the american trucks wich I like more and and are really more easy for me to differenciate one from another. If one day SCS makes maps in Canada, in Quebec province and down in Mexico, we will have at least, three different languages in ATS ;) For me, two games should only really be compared raw, vanilla, without mods, anything else is a plus as not everyone uses mods in their games.

I will admit, despite me loving ATS and living on the east coast of America exploring the west coast and pretending I'm a truck driver is really fun to me, but it can get boring and I do have the urge to play ETS2 because of the more challenging roadways lol

I prefer US trucks now , especially classic ones, cause they are not so boring as modern cabovers from Europe.

i find highway very boring. I always end up speeding to make it slightly interesting. On the normal roads i imerse in the world and take care of the load and drive carefullly

ETS2 is also more optimized than ATS, I have an old PC that runs ETS2 without problems but with ATS, it ends up turning off depending on how long I spend in the game! I wish SCS would optimize ATS, it would be good for people like me who don't have a powerful PC!

The way I see it, ETS2 is best for those who like an adventure, while ATS is best for those who like high speeds. It can also be as simple as ETS2 being best for us Europeans, while ATS is best for the Americans, but nonetheless, both have their ups and downs. I prefer ETS2, just because I love how there are so many roads to explore.
