It took me forever to jump on the Apple watch train, but now that I have one I don't know how I lived without it. It's a big purchase though -- one that you shouldn't take lightly. So, I thought today I would tell you why I think every mom needs an Apple watch and what apps and accessories I think really maximize the watch for us moms.

Also you can just ask Siri what’s this song and it will tell you and take you to Apple Music. No need for Shazam and can add to playlist. 😁

I’m trying to keep my son off my phone he was watching RU-vid a lot more then I liked some screen time is ok but it was getting bad so I stopped it I want an Apple Watch to get my notifications instead of going on my phone then I can put my phone away then my son won’t go on it either I want less phone time even for myself I also want it for my health to get fit etc...

The fall detection is the main reason I got this. I have so much anxiety about randomly dying while my husband is at work and no one knowing until he gets home at midnight and then I just picture my babies crying and hungry. This will let me not worry about one more thing lol

Do you still have this watch or have you upgraded to the newer series? Going to purchase an Apple Watch and the “older” series are so much cheaper. Wondering if I can get away with getting a 4.

This sold me. I had a scare also one weekend while I was busy cleaning the house and my son was using my phone. My sister and mom couldn’t contact me they got so worried they sent my dad over. As a single mom this is gonna be amazing! ❤️

Apple Pay! I use it from my watch at the gas station all the time because I’m paranoid about swiping my card after all those horror stories of people using credit card skimmers to steal your info. I use Apple Pay whenever and wherever I can. It’s just so much more convenient instead of pulling out my phone or wallet. :) ~Maria~

kizoNsake I have an Apple Watch - series 4 but that is actually one feature I have not used yet. Is it linked to your regular checking/debit card ?

Natalia Guzman I have my two credit cards and my Target debit card linked to Apple Pay on my phone. It’s automatically synced to my watch. I love it. I use Apple Pay at the gas station, Ulta, my local grocery store, McDonalds. Basically wherever it’s accepted, I will use it. 🙂 ~Maria~

Cardiogram will show u heart rate Cellular does not kill the battery like they say I got it due to my health problems if I fall and my phones not with me I no that it will call for help that was my only reason but rather way I charge my watch about a hour a day and even use it for my sleep tracking every night so as far as draining battery I don’t see it my series 1 with out sleep tracking still uses the same amount of battery as my series 4 I guess charge it a hour a day and it’s always got plenty of battery to the next day even doing sleep tracking I only up graded for the fall protection with cellular it’s all ready saved my life twice in the past 6 months

I often use my watch to answer the phone.. then I talk to the person while I’m searching around to find the phone. It’s a single tap to switch from the watch to the phone. One tip: when you talk to someone on the watch, you don’t have to talk at it like you are Dick Tracy. Even if you just put your arm at your side, you can hear and talk to someone.

Definitely getting one now. Had doubts about spending the money. I’m a mom of a 3 year old and almost one year old. Some of these features would be extremely helpful throughout the day with two children.

Wonderful and very helpful video.. even for us already owning an iWatch, I still learned some new things! Unfortunately, as I live in Europe, and the beaded watch band doesn't ship here, I am hoping that you also make a collab or carry iWatch bands on the sensiblemama as well!! It does, but you have to download an app for that. I use an app called SleepWatch. It’s pretty good, but to be honest I preferred the sleep tracker on my Fitbit. I usually charge my Apple watxh at night anyway, so I’m considering wearing my Fitbit at night to track my sleep. The sleepwatch app on the Apple Watch isn’t bad - it’s just not as good as the Fitbit in my opinion

Does the Apple Watch really detect steps or does it detect arm movement? I had to stop wearing my Fitbit on my arm and carry it in my pocket. It wouldn’t pick up any steps when I was walking pushing a shopping cart or stroller as my arm wasn’t moving. Just wondering if it would be the same situation with the Apple Watch?

Crystal Baker hmm, that’s hard for me to say. It has done a remarkably good job being accurate when I’m pushing my stroller. But I have noticed that when I run on the treadmill it’s about .02 miles off from what the treadmilll tells me. I did some testing and found the steps counter to be on par with my Fitbit, but given what you just told me I’m not sure if you’ll find that reassuring 😆

If anyone could tempt a loyal Android user it would be you 😘 I currently have a Google Pixel 2xl and it's the best phone I've ever had. The Apple watch has a ton of great features but don't think I could ditch my Pixel for it. Thanks for the video!

Aresin have you tried the Gear 3 smart watch? My husband is an android loyalist and he LOVES his Gear. Maybe you should give that a try? He feels it’s pretty on par with the Apple Watch!

Android user here, and no way can justify the cost of the apple watch, however, i NEED TO TRACK HR AT ALL TIMES. does your Fitbit do that? My Samsung s10 plus does a good job but not when I'm moving. I have EDS and POTS so not a gimmick for me, but needed info. Tia!

estack1093 it won’t. You can set your heart rate zones but no alarm. Honestly if you need to track your heart rate closely and have it be super accurate a watch probably isn’t your best bet. I have some variance in mine at drs appointments and on my own bp machine

I have been an Android loyal since they first came out... but a few months back, I decided to try the XR, since my carrier would allow me to switch after a couple months if I hated it, and I REALLY needed the camera quality that you get with iPhone. I have absolutely fallen in love with it, and now have been debating on the Apple Watch for a few weeks. I just don’t know if I’ll get enough use out of it to justify the price. But after watching this, I think I may be convinced to try it out!

Mama Friend maybe get a refurbished one on Amazon first just to see if you like it? I know what you mean - I even felt guilty leaving the store with mine because it was SO MUCH money and I wasn’t sure if I’d get my money’s worth. But I can honestly say that I do. Just the fitness stuff alone makes it worth it for me

Great video. I love my Apple Watch. No regrets! I have the series 4 which is waterproof. I assume this is the one you have as well? If so no worries about getting it wet. You can shower and swim with it! Definitely no worries if it’s raining when you wear it 😉 Apple does advise that you put on the water drop while using in water and then when you are done turning the crown which will make a cool sound and does something on the inside to eject any water out. Discovered you recently and I’m hooked! Ordering the Newlie Margie Clutch on Thursday! Can’t wait! 😌

Thanks for this video! Didn’t know about the checklist, really helpful. I am trying out the FitBit Versa as per reviews it was better at tracking steps and like the sleep tracking as well but this is so tempting!

SexyLex04 100% honest assessment - if you’re mostly focused on tracking steps and sleep, you’re better off with the Fitbit. I obviously love my Apple Watch for all of the other amazing features it offers, but it can’t compete with the Fitbit in terms of sleep and steps. Thats why I haven’t sold my Fitbit yet - I just can’t bring myself to part with it in case I really get interested in tracking my sleep more regularly
