I would like point out my own theory for upper rank 4( the emotion demon) he could have some form of split personality disorder ( which explains the different clones) one side innocent and the other not or he could have the rare condition where his limbs on their own ( I forgot the term for it), there many things you could theorize that he has especially since he blame his own hands for doing it on their own, also upper rank 2 did have 1 regret, he only felt emotions twice and the first time was towards inoske’s mom and he was actually sad after ending her

Ive only read the 1st book and the series so far but I know all the characters pretty much so when I was watching that one episode I was like "that looks like kaigaku" It really was kaigaku sitting there?!

Actually, I view Douma like a version of the MC in No longer human (Dazai Osamu) in that he feels alienated from the society. It's like Douma was born without the neuron of empathy towards others and therefore having to mask himself with 'emotions'. At a young age he is exploited to be a god for a cult (I blame this mostly on his parents). I'm not trying to defend him or anything because he is truly a horrible person and killed a lot of people. I'm just stating some of the reasons that contribute to his characteristics. That's why I'm really impressed that when he died and went to hell, only to meet Shinobu... the color of his face then CHANGE, his cheeks are blushing, like REALLY BLUSHING. So at least he went to hell but got to finally feel the emotions that he was void of for his entire life for the first time.

If Koko, Douma and Akaza locked in for 20 minutes the Infinity castle arc would have ended. The upper moons sold badly.

That fact that kokoshibo could have been someone to leave something behind…the last descendant of his blood was the youngest hashira ever who could have continued their bloodline but he brutally murdered his last chance at leaving something in the world other than the pain he’s caused or allowed. And he could have been proud finding out that it only took him 2 months to become a hashira and at his sword skills in general but instead killed him. Plus in my opinion if you’re growing swords from your body and using blood demon art mixed with a breathing technique then you can’t keep calling it ‘perfecting your swordsmanship’ anymore it’s perfecting your blood demon art enhanced breathing style, which shouldn’t be hard considering breathing techniques barely allow a human to stay on par with demons so of course it’s going to be easier for a trained swordsman who now has immortality and a BDA to become the best all he really had to do was outlive all the others then by default he’d be the best anyways 😂

Douma's past is messed up it just doesn't seem like it causes it coming from his POV. Blame the parents because imagine giving birth to a good-looking child and you decide to make a cult to exploit the child.
