I loved it. Bought every Dvd as they dropped. People’s hate on it is terrible n makes no sense. And with Dragon Ball Heroes, now everyone loves Supper Saiyan 4’s design
@@MrShawnsda1 Yo, I had a hero's legacy on DVD. That movie was sick. Honestly, I liked GT growing up. It felt really different and had a cool vibe to me when I was a kid but then comparing it after all this time to DBZ and DB and a little bit of DBS...It's just a really lackluster story except for Baby Vegeta and super Saiyan 4. But you're right, the amount of hate it gets is wild!
@@MrShawnsda1I don’t know a single person who hated ss4 transformation even back then! The show is straight up trash with forced story telling with bad animation. The only reason it was created to sell toys and get the show back to younger audience!
I heard the reason DBGT was such a mess is because they had to pivot what the show was after the first release of episodes. The reaction to the early DBGT eps done in the original DB type adventure style was poor so they panicked and went DBZ of steroids for the rest of the series to appease fans. It ended up doing the opposite as it missed the serialised build up of the DBZ series where characters are developed and plot expanded, and instead was closer to the DBZ movies where a villain shows up and then there's fighting. Funny thing is the music videos on RU-vid which DBGT clips are amazing, but sitting and watching the show is anything but. Reminds me of the Netflix Transformers series where even though it is the same characters in the same setting in the same type of stories as previous iterations of the show, but done so poorly I stopped watching quickly.
Wow they really should have taken their time with this series and built it up. It could have been something special with super Saiyan 4 which is so iconic but it makes sense why they pivoted then. Sadly It's very "villain of the week" just like you mentioned with the movies. Say word there's a new transformers show on Netflix. I think I've seen the thumbnail before but I never watched it. I used to love Transformers. I still do so please don't tell me Netflix ruined this for me 🤣
GT imo wasn't that bad, but it lacked the feeling of DBZ mainly because Faulconer's score wasn't in the series. His music really amplified moments in the show. GT music was very lackluster, and it didn't feel epic, even during the fight scenes, because the music was generic metal or crap all together. It really just shows how much music can make an anime great. Same thing with Super. I know a youtuber who literally redid every Dragon Ball Super episode and replaced falconer music with the crap they had, and it was literally much better just with that change.
I totally agree. Music plays such an important role in scoring of all these shows, especially in anime. The music pulls the heart strings or amps you up. That's a great point that I actually never thought about in regards to GT! Thanks for watching bro
I honestly think that Dragonball GT was NOT a bad Dragonball series. It had its flaws, but it had its pros as well (Super Saiyan 4, great Japanese music, and arguably the best ending of any Dragonball series to this day). Dragonball GT isn't as bad as people say it is. I honestly like Dragonball GT.
I only noticed the hatred of DBGT on the internet when DBS came out, and it's mainly DBS fanboys who try to badmouth DBGT. Dragon Ball has no canon, the canon was put together by western fans themselves and since then fanboys have always tried to justify DBGT being non-canon or not part of the series. When fanboys talk about Akira Toriyama they're making up things that Akira Toriyama never said. Akira Toriyama has never described DBGT as non-canon and DBS has never been canon either. In Japan the word "canon" doesn't even exist, in Japan DBGT is and always was the official sequel to DBZ, there is also a timeline wall in Japan where DBGT is shown directly after DBS, even in the teaser trailer for Dragon Ball Daima DBGT was shown when all the Dragon Ball series were shown again. Akira Toriayama described DBGT as a side story, but he was referring to his manga and not to Dragon Ball in general. Side story and not canon are not the same thing, side story simply means that it happened outside of the main story. Akira Toriyama said when he finished his manga "Dragon Ball" that the story was complete, meaning that everything that takes place after the Boo Saga or the tournament with Oob are basically side stories. Many people think that Akira Toriyama was responsible for DBS, but no, he helped with the story in DBS and was more in the background. The last time Akira Toriyama really wrote the story himself was Dragon Ball Manga (1984). When I read something negative about DBGT, it's always the canon topic that fans have put together themselves, with which the fanboys try to make DBGT unofficial.
I feel like anytime I see someone say gt is bad I lose another braincell, I've heard so many terrible arguments but the worst one was, "only goku gets the most screentime, thats why it's called goku time instead of grand tour" like bro... he gets average screentime along with trunks and pan, I'd even say he gets less, And sure gt got plot holes but what anime doesn't? If an anime never had plot holes, it would be perfect, and we know there's not a perfect anime out there, otherwise we'd all love it. The one thing I'd agree with haters is some characters are annoying, pan? For sure, but she also has good moments that can outweigh the bad, bulma? Definitly, but also has good moments. The only character that has the least quality is vegeta with his personality changed completely, but he still does have his pride, And the worst argument I see is " the quality of the anime is bad so I'm not watching it" like dude..it was made...pretty 2000's most animes before that didn't have the "best and highest quality" stuff there looking for. And it just goes on and on, with dumber stuff.. Sorry for the rant, but sometimes excessive hate for no reason can just really get someone ...annoyed. P.s. your arguments are good, nice job 👍
No worries bro. Personally I love GT growing up getting older and looking back I could see there were many flaws in it but it gave us some of the most iconic characters and designs. Baby was amazing super Saiyan 4 is peak but I can definitely see why a lot of people hated this anime. I think it's just a generational thing. If you grew up during this era. When Dragon Ball z ended we were ready to accept anything even if the story was a little bit subpar and Dragon Ball GT fed that desire Dragon Ball. Super wow not for me cuz I didn't really like it that much. Definitely all around has much better story and transformations than GT. But something about the vibe of GT is just unmatched when comparing the two
Finally someone says it.... I'm honestly tired of people saying gt wasn't actually that bad, cuz guess what IT TOTALLY WAS!!!! An absolute pile heap of garbage... Which ONLY has Super Saiyan 4 to it's name and NOTHING else. And I'm even tired of that age old trope of it being the "bEsT" transformation...?? Cuz it's not, Both the OG super saiyan and Ultra Instinct are much better 🤦♂
It’s not even bad. It’s just very boring and paint by the numbers. The concept would work way better if it were maybe goten in place of goku. Because goku always wins. We know this, so don’t put him as the main character
Yo having a series with goten as the main character would have been sick. Honestly, I feel like it would have been dope if after Dragon Ball z they passed the torch on to Gohan and then after whatever series that was they passed the torch on to goten. Keep the legacy going and actually give us characters that need to grow over time you know? Opposed to a character that is just so OP you know in the back of your mind that he's always going to win
i just started gt and its annoying how they dont even think abou the fact that they can fly and well Pan is something else shes one of the most annyoing characters i ever saw tbh im only watching gt for baby as he seems really cool
In my opinion gt and super both have a lot of good ideas but there were poorly execution i can't choose one over the other they both have there highs and lows for me there even when it comes to how i enjoyed them i feel the same way about the manga
Okay few things- 1.Never decided for any fan if they liked or not. I am not saying it was perfect but I am a GT fan. I rather watch GT over DBS any day (the part of the franchise I mostly did not enjoy excluding Goku Black). 2.The Japanese anime is always superior to the English one. When you watch in Japanese you find out the lie of the dub, GT is 5 years after the end of Z not 10. 3.What are you talking about when saying "filler episodes" when it's an anime only? I didn't get it. 4.If Bejita and Piccoro Jr. are fan favorites, how should I feel about my favorites? Tenshinhan and Chaozu poor bastard thrown away. 5.Can you honestly tell me Baby or the Shadow Dragons were no fun? Especially the impressive in strength boring villain Omega Shenlong.
I like GT actually but its notoriously hated online. Some people like it sum dont to each thier own. Filler episodes as in random episodes not really advancing the plot (not as in not adapted from manga). Feel anyway you want about your favs dude haha. Baby and shadow dragons were both lit but still get hated on. Thanks for watching!
@@KingKasperNow everything is clear. Thank you for answering. I agree about some episodes leads to nowhere, which why I say it isn't perfect. I would leave from the first part only Ledgic and G. Rildo. At least we agree SSJ4 is the best thing in GT.
