From causing a collision under the safety car, to assaulting his personal trainer, Lance Stroll isn’t exactly a fan favourite driver. He’s been at the centre of some of the biggest and stupidest crashes the sport has ever seen…… When you combine his incompetence on track, with his spoilt, rich kid personality, then you have a driver that F1 fans just love to hate… But what has Lance done to gain such a reputation and is there any way he can ever win over Formula 1 fans???

I am québécois and I live near Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and I am a f1 fan since 1992. I am 36 yo. And maybe some kids like him....but I can say that there was a bigger vibe about Patrick Carpentier in NASCAR then Lance Stroll. No one love Stroll.

I can confirm too. He races under a Canadian license but it is embarrassing. Strulovich should race with a Russian license...but, then, he wouldn't be able to race. Maybe that's the answer?

In F3 his dad bought him time in the simulator, something other F3 drivers can't do. His teammate was payed to not overtake and defend from anyone behind and they found illegal parts on the car (all cars are supposed to be equal spec in F3) He bought his way through F3 which makes his comments about people buying their way through the junior series even worse!

In his autobiography Nicki Lauda wrote about how the super license was created to stop people buying an F1 drive. Stroll cheated in F3 to qualify for a super license and then bought a seat. If his Dad didn't own the team I don't think anyone would have them on their team.

I lost all respect for Stroll when he gave an interview and stated that he had what is generally viewed as the best rookie season ever. Really? On the podium his 1st 9 races, won his 6th race, lost the WDC by 1 pt. Oh, right, that was Hamilton.

What I'll always remember, is that he caused a collision on the first three race weekends of one year (2022 I think), and two times the other driver got penalized by the FIA... One of them was the Collision with Latifi.

He's a legit F1 driver, below-average relative to the grid but not ridiculously out of place like Mazepin, and never was the worst or even second worse on the grid on any given year. Drivers of his level usually last for 3 or 4 seasons (think somewhere in between Paul DiResta and Esteban Gutierrez, but probably a bit closer to DiResta) and then loses their job to someone with more potential.

As a Canadian I am embarassed by this spoiled child. Stroll knows nothing about accountability or emotional maturity. He distorts every crash incident by claiming others are at fault. Only an immature and insecure liar would to that. Stroll's behaviour is not in keeping with the average Canadian. I don't think he spends any time in Canada anymore anyways. No loss to Canada.

Stroll ( the driver) is destroying the team and it's image. Alonso must be absolutely fuming with the way he has been shafted. I reckon all the development work and new ideas are down to Alonso. The FIA needs to step in rather quickly. As others have mentioned on other threads here there are far better drivers out there who could make a difference to the teams fortunes.

Not to defend Stroll but the only inputs to this video are what’s shown on TV. Which is like 0.01% of the guys time in a day. I’d rather see inputs from crews, drivers, etc. That may never happen but it’d be more worthy info than a series of well-worn snippets.

Tbf the first point for f1 drivers is way to harsh. Yuki literally did arguble something worst in Bahrain, Kmag did something similar in Maimi and the hole china incident can be boiled down to 1 person breaking to early and catching 5 cars off. And if we wanna go the years back how lewis reacted to Silverstone in 2021 was just arrogant, Sainz against Piastri 2023 in Belgium was arrogant, Goerge in Baku 2023 against Max was arrogant and so on.

Lance probably deserved a shot in F1 - he's not the first pay driver to buy a seat, and he won the lower series. Not hard to say he wouldn't still be in F1 if daddy wasn't the team boss though. There's a lot of young talent who can't get a seat who I think would be better for AM's hopes of vying for championships.
