I don't find it that surprising, they're all friends with WIlbur(or were friends) and Shelby IRL and quite likely seen the biting first hand, considering Shelby stated he'd do it in front of friends, so it's quite likely with the context she's given they had a realization of what really was happening. As for the internet side, anyone on the dreamSMP are easily ganged up on anytime accusations come out, so that's also not too surprising.

I had a best friend in 9th grade, from middle school, that was very violent, towards himself & others. He, too, bit himself and others till blood ran. I told him I couldn’t be friends bc of that. I never was really into Wilbur Soot's Minecraft videos. I mostly knew of him from his old SootHouse videos back in the day. They were really funny, and sometimes I would go back and rewatch them if I needed a good laugh. Such a shame he (allegedly) turned out to be a creep.

Ah yes, Nibbler Soot. I know not all of the Minecraft community is like this, but when Minecrafters go bad… they go really really fucking bad. OOF. The worst part is I was a fan of Wilbur’s (emphasis on WAS), now that I know what he did- I feel some shame for supporting him and watching his content (though I know I have no blame). Just comes to show no one knows what goes on behind closed doors.

Damn bro, you KNOW things are bad when Shubble dated KYRSP33DY and said nothing but good things about him after the breakup - the same guy who literally makes inappropriate jokes and acts childish (I watch his content and love it cause I'm a 34 year old man who still enjoys the classics), meanwhile you have this dude named Wilbur who straight up hurt her and is straight up a weird ass kid who kept biting her. She's such a kind soul too, she isn't the type to talk shit about people and for her to come out with this shows just how awful this kid is - his posts are straight up gaslighting her and he admits to abusing her while saying he thought it was consensual. I bite, but when I bite the ones I love, it's more like a nibble. The only person I bite properly is myself and it fucking hurts, especially since I sharp teeth. i knew before that there were some allegations against wilbur but i didn't take it that seriously at first as i didn't actually look into them (i didn't know at all what he had done) and though it was something small. but one of my friends recently told me about what happened... I was shook; i didn't realise what type of person he has become. I was a good follower of wilburs youtube, twitch and music but now i am just apualled. I cant believe i have been living under a rock for this whole time. i was too intrested in watching his old content as i thought he was just working on new music while all this has been going on. honestly, the amount of things one person can hide.

Feel like every game has had a couple bad eggs, but people think Minecraft creators are the worst because they are bigger than other gaming influencers most of the time. I mean, Minecraft started off big on RU-vid. Minecraft creators are the only ones who have collaborated with big channels like Mr Beast most of the time. Has there ever been a Hollow Knight, Fortnite or Halo influencer that has gotten as big as Dream SMP or collaborated with Mr Beast? At least two of the four most popular gaming RU-vidrs started with Minecraft like DanTDM and Pewdiepie. I can't think of any other game's influencer community being as big or popular as Minecraft's.

I came across this video and I don't now who all these people are (and this guy's right, I really don't care) but I have been watching it and this paints a very bad picture of that Wilbur person, I mean, it's eaither he's an abusive person knowing what he was doing and acting in the stupidest way to disguise his abuse or if his side of the story is true he's a complete idiot who has less impulse control to bite people than a dog or a cat and/or the mentality of a toddler, this makes him look pretty bad no matter what the reality of it was.

It's extremely common for victims of abuse to not have photographic or video evidence of their abuse. It can take months and years to come to terms with the fact you were a victim of abuse, especially if it was undermined like Shelby's was. Shelby herself said it took her 10 months and multiple forms of therapy to realise the abuse she faced. Even if she did have photo evidence, it would not be a good idea of post them, knowing how the Internet is towards women and especially female streamers.

Shelby made it VERY clear in her vod that she didn't even realize this was physical abuse until she spoke to many people and a therapist many months after the break up (MANY abuse victims do not, that's how abusers often get away with their crimes). So yeah, there realistically should be no photographic evidence. I do not often take pictures of my injuries, so like idk what you are expecting.

Adults are allowed to enjoy kid friendly games, and are also allowed to make kid-friendly content. This statement lacks all nuance to this extremely fucked up situation. The entertainment industry as a whole has housed and abetted abusers throughout all of history and now we are finally getting some much needed cleansing here on RU-vid. Trust me the kids content space and the gaming space is probably the tip of the iceberg. However, "Now every Minecraft content creator is bad" is deranged and deeply misses the broader problem here. Those REAL issues being parasocial relationships, domestic abuse, and the absurd power that celebrities can have over their victims. We need to clean house and spread awareness across all of the online communities on this issue, not just Minecraft RU-vid.

go to the police? I doubt biting people after being told to stop would be bad enough for police intervention , the assumption that for an act to be bad it needs to be at the level of police envolment is silly
