Why everyone is addicted to ELF BARs. | Disposable Vapes

People of all ages are smoking disposable vapes, and ELF BARs are the ones that I see the most. Why the sudden rise, and why can't people stop? Why are they seem to be even more addictive than cigarettes, how will they affect our health, and what about the environmental impact? Let's dive into this topic and find out.

Trying not to constantly look at comments but I've just been through these and I have to say thank you to everyone that left a comment, whether it be a compliment on the video, a story about or own experience with e-cigarettes, or to disagree and present another argument. I put a lot of effort into researching and editing this so it's really nice to see people enjoy the production and to engage with the content! A couple of things keep coming up so I'll try and respond here: A few people have pointed out that this is actually separate from big tobacco and big tobacco are actually completely against vaping as they are losing out on this. From what I've read and based on some other comments there isn't completely true to completely false. Of course big tobacco would rather people continue smoking cigarettes and spend a lot of money to try and keep people doing that, I don't disagree. I also haven't read anything that links a specific BT company to ELFBAR. However, they know that vaping is coming to replace smoking eventually and they still want a part. Many people have pointed out in the comments that companies such as Phillip Morris, Japan Tobacco, and Marlboro all have their own ventures into disposable vapes, such as Juul. But, it does seem like right now the battle is being won by ELFBAR. Some people seem to think I'm completely against vaping. Of course in an ideal world nobody would smoke anything, drink alcohol or consume sugar. But, that isn't the case, and I do two of those things myself on a regular basis. Vaping is clearly very helpful for a huge number of people in quitting cigarettes and compared to cigarettes is much less harmful to your body, thanks to everyone that shared their own stories about this. My issue is with this new emerging market of disposable vapes and the seemingly sinister way they target certain groups. Undoubtedly, there are health implications from vaping and an addiction is an addiction and can affect your physical and mental well-being. I do think that people who don't smoke already shouldn't touch vapes. But, banning them outright would of course just leave a lot of people going back to cigarettes. "Prop 65 warning is on loads of stuff." - Yes, it is. My bad on that one. Some people pointed out that they can do whatever they want. Well, yeah, I'm not your mother... I did make sure everything I could back up everything I said here with research but this is ultimately an opinion piece and the way that sources are interpreted is always going to be skewed by personal bias. Anyway, thanks for the responses to this video. And thank you again to everyone who complimented the production quality on this video, it means a lot and I hope to keep improving!

You're doing a great job. I made an extended comment but you're right about most of the things. Elf bars and geekbars are indeed not from big tobacco. They're from geekvape. Normally à trustworthy vape brand making great mods and tanks in the past. That is making it even worse. They act like big tobacco. And making the disposables very attractive for minors. Disposables are to easy to use. As a long term vaper I'm refusing to buy any disposables. Grtz

I vaped for a bit over 2 years. Was a chain vaper, and recently quit for the 7,000th time. So far 27 days no nicotine. I have urges, and oddly enough they've gotten stronger with passing time, but I've learned to accept them as they are and think in the long-term. After doing it for 2+ years, I finally realized one of the worst decisions someone can make nowadays is to start using nicotine, especially vapes. You get such a nice buzz which is reinforced in your mind as a reward system. No wonder so many people do it. However, it is extremely possible regardless of your circumstance to quit nicotine for good. We were all born non-smokers, and that's the greatest line that helps me get my head straight. You gotta always tell yourself you're only getting 2-3 seconds of pleasure, and tolerance can add up quick. It just begins to be more of a physical addiction than a mental addiction. If you're having trouble just know you can and will quit if you really put your mind to it. I know it's not an extreme hard drug like the other illegal substances, but it's a very freeing feeling knowing you're able to control yourself, and quit being a slave to a plastic device filled with a cock-tail of chemicals. Good luck everyone :)

As someone who transitioned from normal cigs to a good quality vape I can definitely say the addiction is way harder to break than traditional cigs. Way easier to hide, more socially acceptable and the ability to just puff indoors without commiting to a whole ciggarette by going outside possibly in rain or at night is a massive problem. On the other hand a vape can be a great tool to actually stop if one is commited enough. You can start buying liquid with decreasing nicotine content extremely gradually so that you do not even notice the withdrawal, at the end start mixing 0 nic liquid with a low % one and transition to 0 entirely. Once the physical addiction is dealt with the psychological need to pick up a cig/vape can be dealth with on its own without the nasty withdrawal symptoms.

After “social smoking/vaping” at a wedding and ending up with one in my pocket the following morning, I was astounded to find out there’s nothing recyclable about them and the whole thing goes to landfill. So I thought I’d at least use it for its purpose before having to get rid of it. Shocking how fond of vaping I became and how quickly. Found the appetite suppression quite alurring and the taste very craving crushing. When binning it I considered buying another. And that’s from someone who’s never smoked. Mental.

It's honestly terrifying and I'm about to be hypocritical of myself for a moment. I've been vaping for i would say 5-6 years. I'm only 21 and I started when I was about 14-15 when a friend of my older brothers had a vape. I was amazed by it hearing it was better for you and nicer than cigarettes. I had never even touched a cigarette not once in my life, nobody in my household had ever either. Within weeks I had gotten my own from this friend and I thought I was so cool walking around with my own. I would be in school vaping in the toilets with all the lads passing it around having a laugh. It was awful to use back when nicotine salts weren't common and all you had was the harsh regular nicotine that would burn your throat. At that point we all knew it couldn't be great for you, but we did it anyways. Fast forward to now and I'm almost done my engineering degree while spending nearly every second of the day with the vape in my hand. It's not a disposable but it has the same nicotine and chemicals in it. Thankfully it's too obvious with the massive clouds that I couldn't get away with using it inside unlike my classmates who use disposables inside. I always say that if I wanted to quit I could easily do it, all I have to do it throw it away and I won't waste my money on one again. But I know deep down it can't be that easy. Constantly using it everyday, making sure it's filled and charged, it's like a child I care for that's destroying me. I realised how addicted I was when, after five years of using the same vape, the button doesn't even click anymore. I sit there jamming down the button a fraction of an inch to get a hit. I plan to quit once I'm out of college and to never use after that. I've noticed the increase and impact of using the vapes, especially disposables, around me and how literally everyone is hooked. I know I'm in no place to say it but they are terrible and will control your life. If I could go back 5-10 years I would tell myself to never touch them in the first place. The one person I admire is my old best friend who never took it up. The rest of us in the group all got into it heavily and are still all using them. He tried it once or twice but just never liked it and I don't get how. He is the only person my age that I know who doesn't vape or smoke and I applaud him for it. It is the worst addiction out there as its so common and socially accepted that nobody would tell you that it's wrong. It sounds bad but I would honestly rather be an alcoholic where people would tell you that you need help and that there actually is help for the addiction. There is no help and nobody out there who actually tells you to stop vaping. It's completely down to the individual at this point. I hope that I can quit when I do, hopefully sooner than I plan, and that other people around me can do the same. Maybe this will help someone realise that it's not worth getting into it or keeping it up as it will inevitably control you. Good luck lads.

there's no way to tell how much you're having - I've never tried tobacco, yet I'm a nicotine user. Personally, I have no problem feeling the effect (heart rate, agitation, better performance). If you feel nothing then the Elfbars do not contain as much nicotine as the cigarettes. The thing provides less nicotine, and 2 orders of magnitude less harmful chemicals. It is inconceivable to me why would anyone consider banning e-cigarettes before banning all tobacco products first.

I've been on and off with them. Started vaping because I tried it at a nightclub, and combined with alcohol it was fun. Even had one in my bag for months without using it other than when I went out. One day I decided to vape a bit while watching RU-vid. Huffing on it like a chimney. Next day I watch RU-vid again but now it feels wrong because Im not getting that head spin. And that started the vicious cycle. Its not just the substance itself that can addict you, but linking them to an activity you like to do say like driving to work or watching a movie that can be just as addicting, because of the action of using it whilst doing that activity is gone, it feels like somethings missing increasing the craving physchologically. I will never buy one of these myself so I dont even get the opportunity to get addicted. But I never got into the situation of me asking for a 9th puff after telling them to not give it to me anymore anyway - so I still have it well under control, I guess. I also dont do it nearly every night. I do it like every 2 or 3 months max. Probably even less frequent. As long as you pay attention to when you do it and then actively avoiding doing it when in these situations should keep you away from getting addicted. After all stopping is not nearly as difficult as long as you are actually really commited to stop doing it. Its not like a serious cocaine or heroine addiction. Its just nicotine.

One thing to note, that thing about containing chemicals that may cause cancer in California is something that’s written on almost every product sold. Even on chairs. Idk if it’s to prevent random people trying to sue the company or if it’s a genuine thing that has a 1% chance of causing cancer and Californian laws makes it compulsory to write this
@alexstrauss5264

its a law that basically makes anything that could possibly cause cancer to have a warning, there is a lot of stuff that can cause cancer so its very common to see, idk the full history or when the law was passed but its quite hard to change and the warning is everywhere, doesn't really matter though cause cigarettes have a warning tied to different legislature so its not gonna make people skeptical of nicotine addiction since a parking garage can also give them cancer.

Those things are terrifying. I'm a young adult, and I'm currently witnessing the effect they have on a friend first-hand. He was a non-smoker, never even considered smoking a cig in his life when I first met him. But, because of things like social pressure and the 'trendy' advertisement, he got into vaping. At first he'd only do it every now and again on parties, taken from others. Then, he began buying some himself and would go for a puff every now and again. Now, he does it every 15 minutes if not more often. In fact, vapes have gotten him into cigarettes as I've recently seen him buy a pack. Ik he's an adult and can make his own decisions, but I just wish there was something I could go. He's already at the point where quitting seems impossible to him (which he'll ONLY admit when he's tipsy, when he's sober he'll deny that ofc)

It’s strange though that nicotine is only seen as a bad and addictive drug…it’s seen as pointless. Why isn’t alcohol viewed the same way? I don’t like alcohol but I love nicotine…are people allowed to like nicotine? Genuinely asking, and trying to get you to question your thinking. Wouldn’t you rather someone get into nicotine through vaping as opposed to smoking? Why is it logical to only use vaping to quit smoking but you can’t just pick up vaping one day? People had to randomly pick up smoking knowing how bad it is so isn’t that way more embarrassing?
@grubbygeorge2117
@grubbygeorge2117 Год назад
@@tbvolcomskater Sure, I'd prefer if a person around me vaped rather than smoked. It's far less intrusive and the smell doesn't make me want to throw up. However, it'd be preferable if the person was not on nicotine altogether. The entire 'threat' of vapes is how they expose a generation that is largely disinterested in smoking to nicotine. And no, the substance is not just 'seen' as an addictive drug. It very much IS one. The way it affects one's brain makes it incredibly difficult to leave behind once you get into it. It doesn't change the way you behave or perceive the word like alcohol or various illegal drugs, but that doesn't make it harmless. Almost everything can become an addiction, but nicotine is faster and more difficult to leave behind than most things. You don't simply 'like' it; you just become dependent on it. While I've not done it myself (and don't ever intend to do so), I've seen how strong the addiction was for both of my parents who never managed to quit and with my friend who's VEEEEEERY quickly lost control and cannot imagine himself quitting after just a couple months.

Nicotine addiction from vaping was so easy to get ahold of in high school, where every bathroom had a teenager in it hauling on a vape who was friendly enough to encourage you to try it. It took a lot of determination but after about 5 years of vaping I made the decision to quit. There was no better way to do that than to surround myself with people who encouraged me to do better for myself. Slowly, I cut the nicotine out, from .5mg, to .2mg, to .12mg, to .06mg, and eventually 0 nicotine in my vape. I did 0 nic for a couple weeks before realizing my addiction was gone, and I barely got any cravings using this method. I recommend you quit, I too used to think that it was “impossible”.

I was in middle and high school just when vapes were starting to get big. I distinctly remember box mods being really popular for a while and people I knew would kinda geek out about the components of their mods and the wattage they could put into a pull. This was a bit more niche though and was mainly being used by people who had already smoked cigs and I didn’t notice the “normal” kids really using them much (I hung around really sketchy people in high school). I think it was just that those box mods were relatively expensive, parts broke all the time, they would leak out juice all over people’s pockets, and there was really no way to be discreet about it. You could hear that air flow and the popping of the coils from around the room. But when juuls started to get big around my junior and senior years, it was shocking how many people I was seeing vape. People who would have never smoked a cigarette and were unlikely to get something as bulky as a mod, and the disposable cigarettes (blus) were really shitty and harsh. Within one year, vaping was present in essentially all social circles and people would either get vapes themselves or be annoying and bum off others. Many of my friends regret it after a few years out of high school and wish they didn’t start. I have chronic health issues that make any kind of vaping/smoking extremely uncomfortable for me when done for more than a day (extreme sinus inflammation that moves from my nose to my inner sinuses around my face and coughing fits that would start within a week or two of smoking or vaping once or more a day). Even though that sucks, i am glad that it kept me from overindulging as I would likely also be struggling with nicotine addiction now too if it wasn’t so immediately uncomfortable for me.

I’ve noticed a couple things when observing my friend who vapes (she uses an vuse alto). On top of flavour and amount of nicotine an addiction factor for vaping is how easily you can hit it at any point, it creates a compulsion that can be acted on immediately. Even further is that I think (I do not know completely if this is true) the disposable elfbars are not bought where you have to fill them with juice or replace coils, which makes it even easier for anyone to use them. Source for this is just completely what I’ve seen. While this only slightly aligns with the point of your video lol I thought it’s worth mentioning. You should try getting e-juice less potent in nicotine over time. And also try to schedule your hits. This is so you can ween yourself off as a alcoholic might, or really any addict. Scheduling your “hits” or smoke breaks or whatever, is the key though. Many will lower the nicotine percentage and think that is all they have to do, but don’t realize they makeup for the lower concentration by simply vaping more. Not only ruining the entire point of weening yourself off but taking even more money out of your pockets that vaping normally already does.

Well I hope they don't ban flavoured vape fluids as I really enjoy them and I'm 41 years old. Also my similarly aged friends who got into Vaping years before me, they all make their own liquids anyway (so people will end up buying them on the black market, or making their own... which for the most part might be even worse because if you are making your own, you can make them way stronger) Having these small disposables are great because it gets more people onto vaping instead of tobacco, as they're so user friendly. I do totally understand your point about young people getting into them, but young people get into stuff anyway. I started smoking at 12 years old (as a regular smoker. I'd smoked from as early as 7 or 8 years old) and it certainly didn't slow down much after this. I think at least with Vapes they are more healthy than cigarettes... kids are going to smoke whatever is available to them/is cool etc. So at least with vaping it is supposedly more healthy. That being said, if children can be diverted away from smoking this would be ideal, but kids are going to smoke. They always have done and always will do.

Once hooked i couldn’t stop i tried many times and it took a tremendous amount of will power to. a lot of old friends are still addicted and have smoked for longer then me. vaping is a huge concern for our generation and the health of children as our body’s are still developing. if you read so far please for the love of the green earth never pick up smoking you will regret it and it is disgusting.

You do realize there is zero evidence vaping is even bad for you, no one has ever died or been hospitalized from vaping regulated nicotine vape products. The only people who have ever been hospitalized were people who were vaping an unregulated butter popcorn flavor which was quickly taken off the market. There's also no evidence nicotine is bad for the development of the brain. Nicotine isn't even bad for you in itself, it's seen as bad because it's what makes you addicted to cigarettes, and cigarettes are very bad for you. There's evidence nicotine actually reduces the chances of getting Alzheimer's, so it's actually beneficial. Maybe there could be some long term health problems from vaping we haven't seen yet as it's still quite new, but so far there's zero evidence vaping is bad for you.

A tale as old as time. People enjoy doing things that aren't exactly good for them, that's how it's always been and because of human nature, it's the way things always WILL be in a free society. Every generation of children will see something they shouldn't be doing, and a large portion of them will decide to go and do it, you can't stop that. What you can do is make the alternatives a LOT less deadly. For every teenager vaping a bit of nicotine, there's 2 or 3 more downing bottles of cheap cider on a weekend and sniffing whatever Ol' Jimmy down the street gives them for £40, and with that being said I'd much rather my nieces/nephews/little cousins etc picked up a Nicotine Vape than a bottle of Frosty Jacks and an 8-ball.

The problem with vaping is that it's so much easier for kids to start up as, the flavours are obviously more attractive to them, and less chance of them to get caught vaping due to the lack of smell of them when they go home if doing it behind their parents back, and it's a social thing and they seem to think it's cool and want to fit in with the crowd. Literally everyone is doing it and the statistics that smoking is going down may be true but it just means a lot are shifting over to vaping now rather then smoking. And the disposable ones are a nightmare for the environment as you would have people just tossing them to the street when they are done, or even if disposed in a bin, going to landfill with that battery still inside it, these things are gonna cause major issues in years to come.

i’m in america and elf bars are just the newest big brand. i’m about to turn 22, when i was 17 vaping only got big because people started using juuls. the big box vapes were seen as kind of nerdy, but juuls were cool. personally i got hooked the summer after 11th grade on a cruise ship when this hot girl i was trying to flirt with offered to let me hit it, apparently they were popular in her part of the country already. i was already smoking weed, often in backwood blunts (large piece of tobacco used to roll weed) so the nicotine in the juul didn’t seem like a concern. senior year juuls went from being mostly unheard of to everyone having one. soon they changed the age to buy them from 18 to 21. this just resulted in small smokeshops getting insane business from underage kids, smoke and vape shops in my area literally started franchising in the area based on the success. also people would order them online and then sell them to other minors for jacked up prices. then they banned flavored juuls and other vape pods, that’s when the disposables blew up. within a month it went from never seeing any to everyone having one, and they were a way more appealing product than juuls ever were. they came in way more flavors, smoke shops have entire walls covered in different flavors. these disposables have been really popular for about 3 years now in america, every 3-4 months a new brand will come out that most people hail as “the best.” it seems elf bars are just the first ones to gain worldwide traction, but they’re pretty much identical to the other brands. funny to me that every step the government took to cut back on teen vaping backfired horribly. now not only are more kids vaping than ever before, they’re using the disposables which are sooo much more wasteful than just replacing individual vape pods. not to mention that the disposables are worse for you, i don’t have any statistics to back that up but everyone i’ve talked to about it agrees that the disposables make you cough more and also leave a sweet taste in your mouth as well as the phlem you cough up

What I did to quit was find a week where you’re pretty free (no/little work, events, etc) and just quit cold turkey. You will have urges, it’s how you deal with the urges that matter. For me stoicism, waking up early (read a book called the 5am club!), meditating (calm and waking up are really good apps!) and working out was what kept me motivated. So pretty much replace your urges with habits that give you natural endorphins and give yourself a similar buzz! Maybe find someone to quit with you and hold each other accountable! I picked up vaping with elf bars about a year ago to get myself off cigarettes, of which i was smoking maybe 2-3 a day since 16, so about 6 years. Nothing crazy, and could quite easily go a day or two without, but I decided it was time after a friend was hospitalised with a collapsed lung at just 21. It worked, but I quickly found myself so incredibly addicted. It's been an elf bar a day since, I've tried to switch to reusable devices multiple times as I feel so guilty about the environmental aspect, but the financial hit was actually greater than disposables, and the toll of disposables alone on my money has been pretty devastating. meeting rent and bills is tricky enough, and every day there is the choice between a vape or saving the funds for the things in life that actually mean something to me. A few hours of withdrawal shakes/horrific anxiety later, guess which one wins, every time. I think vaping has a legitimate place in reducing smoking rates, but honestly, if you've never picked up a pack of cigs, do not fuckin think about taking up vaping. Its full of shite

In my lungs and health even mentally I feel almost docile from them and not as fast thinking, not to mention my physical health like running or swimming has been heavily effected my oxygen retention sucks and it makes me more anxious and nervous than it helps. At least I change coils and still do rba builds even for the smaller devices because who knows what kind of qc is done on those aio throw away disposables and the coil wire type used for sure. @@yobro683 Well hey in that case I withdraw that part of my statement, I was not aware you were actually related, lacking that information it seemed more like a vague attempt at guilting someone. Given you claim to know this person I'll say this, if your cousin feels he has a problem and wishes to stop then I hope he can, and it would be commendable for you all to be supportive of that decision. However despite the strong armed attempts to induce fear in people about vaping, besides being addictive the chances of having any serious health complications is unlikely and unproven, and long term effects will certainly be miles less severe than cigarettes and even other things people consume all the time without a second thought. If you're worried about your cousin suddenly dropping dead, unless he's vaping some dirty black market substances you have nothing to worry about. I can understand where you are coming from, you want the best for those you know and I cannot blame you for that... but also I think you need to understand some people will choose things in life you may not, and that isn't instantly a bad thing. Great video well researched and edited! I got a sub ohm mod after nearly 10 years of smoking (heavily towards the end) and it helped me quit cigs while also craving less. After a while I decided to try an elf bar as a step down from the box mod, I started using them for about 3 months which ended with me getting hooked again on nicotine so much worse than what I was when I was smoking ciggies. It got the point of me finishing one in a single day I knew I had to stop with the elf bars. Not to mention they gave me an awful cough and my chest/lungs would hurt. Switched back to using my box mod which made the cough and pain stop. Between the health issues and the high levels of addictivness it really is quite worrying how prominent they are in our current society especially the youth.

I started vaping when it was still a niche thing, people were "cloud-chasing", people were making all of these complicated rigs - it was alot of DIY. I used four mg, normal nicotine juice, to quit my moderate smoking habit at the time (picked it up again after vaping, quit for good earlier this year). these bars contain TWENTY mg of the far more potent nicotine salts. 12mg normal nicotine was advised for pack-a-day or over smokers. Only a very small subsection of people did that much, to catch a palpable buzz. And then these bars exploded onto the market. People didnt know what 20mg nic salt meant.

I vaped just after i turned 16, and I realised that its very easy to vape in rooms because they dont smell as bad. After 2 months of vaping a lot i could very easily feel the damage when i did intense exercise which led me to stop vaping. So a puff of a cigarette may be more harmful than a puff from a vape, but vapes can be used sneakily anywhere which makes them genuinely worse than smoking for someone that doesn't use a vape to quit smoking because you will find yourself spending all day using a vape, while if you smoked you could only smoke a few cigarettes a day.

Been a smoker for nearly 10 years. My ‘heaviness’ has varied massively over that time, ranging from around 8 a day, a pack a day to a short period of time where it was two packs a day. Jumped on the elfbars for the past 18 months or so and only smoked cigarettes while on holiday. As a smoker the elf bars are 100% less harmful, at least that’s how I feel. When I was smoking I couldn’t go to the gym as effectively and my cough in the mornings was horrendous. None of that with the elfbars, I feel healthier generally too. HOWEVER, and this is a big HOWEVER, I’m more addicted to these things than I have ever been in the past. Seriously, seriously hooked. When I came back from a 5 day break in September where I was smoking, I feel like I was probably in the best position then to quit. I hate how hooked I am. With a cigarette I almost feel like it’s easier. I’ve quit for a couple of months at one point, can’t imagine that at elfbars. I want to stop because of how much I’m spending and how addicted I am. With a cigarette you just smoke it and it’s done. There’s genuinely a part of me thinking about stopping elf bars, buying a pack of smokes and trying to stop that way as there is less nicotine being pumped into me

I’m exactly the same as you mate. I used to smoke 10-15 roll ups a day. I started smoking elf bars to get off tobacco/cigarettes. I did originally feel better after making this transition, but after 18 months of vaping, I became seriously addicted and could sometimes get through one 600 puff elf bar on a Friday night down the pub. On average I was getting through 7-8 elf bars a week. Certain research says that one single disposable vape is the equivalent to 50 cigarettes… Because of this, I started smoking normal tobacco again, and I’m currently down to about 5-10 roll ups a day. I’m planning to quit nicotine altogether by slowly cutting down bit by bit. I’m just happy I don’t have a sea of disposable vapes in my car anymore.

Vaping was originally created and advertised for people to quit smoking. Remember the old Blu E-cigarette commercials? Younger people started getting them the same way they would cigarettes because it was easier to hide. It became more well known that kids were using vapes to these companies, so they evolved with the times. They started, non-explicitly due to laws, advertising to kids. Yes, punish the companies. PUNISH THE KIDS THAT ARE VAPING! But don't punish those that are using them for their intended purpose.
@echowhosthis
@echowhosthis Год назад
Don’t punish the kids, that won’t get anyone anywhere - what we really need is better and more informed education instead of just “don’t do it it’s bad for you”. Punish the people who enable kids to have access to vapes in the first place. They’re far more responsible for the problem than those addicted and brought to it through peer pressure, advertisement, etc
@lunaraynwolf7036
@lunaraynwolf7036 Год назад
Punishing kids only teaches them to hide things better so they don't get caught. I can't believe you even put that in your comment much less in ALL CAPS. You must not understand how advertising works on people and how it's even worse on those who are under age. Please educate yourself. And even with people using them to quit smoking, they're made to be even more addictive then cigarettes. Which is why very few end up quitting successfully with vapes. Just stay away from vapes period. There's better ways.

Wholeheartedly agree with this video. I vape because I was stupid enough to try cigs in my teens, but I use a refillable mod with a very low nicotine concentration. I haven't smoked once in over 4 years now. It really bothers me that there's so much waste from these disposables. And it bothers me even more hearing from young people 'I only vape when I drink' or 'I only vape when x' or 'I can stop anytime I like', as if to imply that they're above it's addictive potential. No point trying to tell them that's how pretty much every nicotine addiction starts.. But hey ho they will find out the hard way I guess. At the end of the day though, it's still better to be addicted to vapes than cigs, and if the new generations can use vaping culture to completely oust tobacco from society, then I see that as a win to be honest. But yeah, elf bar and brands alike are absolutely up to some sinister shit that needs to be controlled before unnecessarily harsh restrictions are imposed on responsible vapers such as myself.

I always told myself, that if I ever smoke, it's going to be cigarettes or nothing at all. Cigarettes are dirty and one knows it, but with these things you don't know what you get. It might as well be more chemicals than cigarettes as far as I'm concerned. To get into smoking is also a lot harder than vaping, as vaping "tastes good" and doesn't give you the same nicotineoverdose as cigarettes does. I also know what cigarettes can do as they've been around for more than 100 years and I for one much rather know what I get into when I smoke than be some kind of test object for newer technology.

I’m 18 and just over a year ago vapes struck pretty much my entire friend group. I had been offered it occasionally but never accepted the offer, even before I knew quite how bad they were for your health and the planet. Nicotine heated up so hot that it’s vaporised - that smelt like a sweet shop coming out of what literally looks like a highlighter? Yeah I’m good thanks. I’d voice my concerns from time to time, especially the more I knew about the dangers, trying not to be too pushy as to have the opposite effect but it never seemed to sink in to anyone, even though they often admitted I had a point. Part of the reason I tried to get my friend to quit was for my own sake because we know next to nothing about the effects of second hand vape yet, but the main driver was how much it genuinely saddens me. It breaks my heart to think of the stresses it must be putting on their bodies and the repercussions this may have in the future. I already know one recently got gum disease (yet still vapes regardless) and another with symptoms. These are people I love, blinded by a nicotine addiction to potentially numerous diseases, even such as cancer. I want to share this video with them, maybe it’d make them think more if they heard what I’ve been saying from someone else - and read the sobering comments along with it - but how? I can definitely understand that it’d be so much easier in the short term to just laugh it off and refuse to watch the video, but that’s such a waste of potential. Does anyone here have any ideas how to get someone who vapes to watch this please?? Thank you 🙏

thought id put my bit down here, I started smoking when i was 9, im 18 now and currently a non smoker. been that way for a while. A big thing with these are the nic salts used in them. Its a extremely satisfying smoke and very potent compared to the classic nic freebase in normal vape liquid. If you use free base at the same nic percentages thats in these dispos, youll find that its extremely harsh and unpleasant. If you want to reduce the amount of non smokers and children smoking these (without outright banning the vapes) the companies would have to put freebase nicotine in rather than the benzoic acid nic salts. It would make them less appealing and satiating all while being able too keep the fruity flavours. I believe without legislation, these fuckers are here to stay.
