I'm someone who has been with Vanguard for the better part of their 10 years. I got in during late limit break. Link Joker was my first anime arc, but I didn't play the game or pay attention to reveals like I do now. I wasn't really a part of the Reverse hype back then, and now I'm on the side of OverDress having my attention. I've had my fun with V. Most of the stuff in the last Clan Collection just felt like an attempt to merge V into Premium, and I'd rather just stick with what's current rather than look backward. I see all this hype and it almost makes me worry that I'm missing something. Like I've been playing Vanguard wrong because while I identified with Aqua Force for the longest time, there wasn't a unit that made me go WOAH like Daikiaser does for you Kris. At least not until like Lambros in G, but even that wasn't like a super crazy excitment for me because I had a lot of other decks. G was my time to test everything, build whatever I wanted and sell it if I didn't like it. Then when V Series started, I wasn't as worried about Aqua Force - even though I played it - as I was about getting into DP from the ground level with D Robos or making sure I play Chronojet (assuming we were gonna get him). All that to say, thanks for this video because while I was there for Reverse, I never really bit into it. I wasn't in the meta back then, so for the people who weren't even playing, this is a really cool "This is why this is important" video. Honestly didn't expect a video like this - one that would make me feel like I'm lumped in with the fresh meat at the table - but I love this game so much just like you do, and if me feeling a little "outside looking in" helps the ones that actually are "outside looking in" appreciate V Series in my absence, that's pretty cool. Between the nostalgia of the LJ arc as well as reliving it again through Zero really is what made me so hyped for reverse units coming back. Also because break your spell was such a hype song and hearing it play out during the final moments during the fight between Kai and Aichi really solidified the LJ arc for me.
I'm definitely in the minority of being more hyped for Amon returning than the reveal of Reverse units since him and his Reverse form are what got me into playing Dark Irregulars during Limit Break Era and the clan has kinda stuck to being my main clan ever since then, now it being Dark States in OD
Amons original artist/designer is pretty famous and comes with a hefty price tag. He's behind things like Nausicaa, Porco roso, evangelion, shin Godzilla, and castle in the sky. There may have been some other drama preventing his return as well. Until now, I believed Brufas was meant to be the stand-in/replacement for Amon in V.
Here's a theory as to why we got Cecilia Reverse instead of Maiden of Venus Trap Reverse. So in season 3, Rekka got Reversed and we got Ramiel Reverse right? Well in the V-Series, Rekka plays Neo Nectar and her main boss is Cecilia. So I think that characters that got Reversed in season 3, will have their V boss unit counterpart Reversed (another example being Suiko, instead of doing a full switch to Schwartzschild Dragon, we'll get Zerachiel Reverse for V. Or a friend said that instead of Vowing Saber Reverse, we'll get Detonix Reverse for Naoki). All in all, V-Premium is looking like it'll be a lot of fun with these new units, can't wait to test out Maelstrom Reverse and see what they could possibly Reverse for Gear Chronicle.
I remember when my friend built a Glendios deck and we thought it was so op but then we figured out it takes a bit more effort to set up. Anyway I used G Era Shiranui and just didn't call rear guards and abused Dominate when I could. It was the longest cardfight I ever had
Link Joker arc means alot to me as I went into it after reuniting with my old card games friends from my childhood. Reverse units were such a cool concept, I remember watching Yugioh GX and seeing Jaden's Evil Heroes for the first time was so mind-blowingly cool to my child brain, it was awesome to see beloved Vanguard characters go through a dark chapter similar to Aichi in Season 1 as well. Also alot of fan favourite units came out during Link Joker arc, I'm so excited for Salome and Ezel Scissors! That Salome art struck my heart that day
I'm still really hoping that we'll get a reverse of Duo Temptation, Reit for Bermuda Triangles (mostly because she's my favorite card, and as a Duo unit there's a chance we could get two artworks of her). If they wanted to give her an effect similar to her original effect, they could do something like lock two rear guards with the same name to stand her, or something like that Also, looking forward to that video on the formats, I'm just now trying to get back into Vanguard and with all these new reverse reveals I'm thinking about building a V deck in the future!
Honestly with the announcement of new reverse units coming it's kind of only sad that each Clan can only have one reverse cuz I would honestly like more than one unit per clan
is it not 7 cards per clan (3 new, 4 reprints)? Also, if the clan gets a reverse in vol 3 or 4, i heard they will get another boss unit for vol 5 or 6. Vice versa also.
I’m new to Vanguard, just starting with Overdress, so I kinda still don’t know all those characters but I’m happy the old formats still get support and new stuff. I’ll probably just stay with Overdress since I don’t wanna spend more money on a format my friends and girlfriend don’t play since we got into Overdress at a similar time. Still nice to see and know all this now!
Another cool thing for the reverse era was the format that came with it for bushiroad tournaments where you either sided with the invaders(link joker and reverse units) or with the denizens of cray
It's really nice seeing reverse units make a return finally and with some new ones added for each clan too plus seeing Salome and Amon return is just so awesome
If every clan gets a reverse unit than glendios is pretty much confirmed since the link joker reverse unit is reverse cradle. And reverse cradle is a glendios support card…
The new Salome is so hype for me. I added the new Ashlei and the support cards from that last Clan Selection set into my old pure Jewel Knights deck but it was obviously still lacking without mixing in other newer cards, which I couldn't bring myself to do. With the new Salome, all I can really ask for now is new JK triggers with the current shield values and power effect.
I mean Himiko was on the 5th opening from the Original Cardfight Vanguard, so i may or may not be wrong, but we might also getting an "Reverse" Revonn for the upcoming clan Collection 3/5or6.
I started when V came around, and upon seeing reverse era, wish I was around for it. I'm not happy with D at all, and primarily play premium, so seeing this basically executed D for me and brought V back from the dead. I am a massive sucker for the aesthetic and theme of it, and it is going to be BRUTAL on my wallet, especially after having to fight with Kris for DSR Daikaisers in 2 months.
I’ve been with vanguard for as long as it’s first been around. And I’ve followed EVERYTHING from beginning to end. And seeing NEW reverse units is just ducking baller dude. Especially seeing Raging Form get a reverse.
Getting R Spectral would be really cool, this guy never had an upgraded version or something like that except for the SP stride and the reboot from V. A potential return of Glendios is really interesting, the curret deck works around the starter and the 2 g1 that can CC and add Rs from the drop zone to the hand, so Bushiroad has to choice 1 g1 and the Glendios's skills have to carry the entire deck more than before
DF dropping another banger vid I see tbh a symphogear type Reverse unit for BT would be dope. Since Riviere is supposed to be the OG top idol and the face of the clan I'd REALLY like to see her tbh (or ange, olyvia, etc), But I understand if they don't wanna touch the clan. but still I'm just glad to be a part of a new Reverse wave since I came into the fanbase pretty late towards the end of V ^-^
A detail that I think they could make a change of cost mechanics with their cards, that is, in the old format the cards made their own units cost lock as was the Star Vader mechanic, I would think that for V series, the reverse would have cost to destroy imaginary gift, maybe I'm wrong or not. but it would be interesting that this will be a mechanic for the V version of the Reverse. Example Reverse Malestrome destroys imaginary in order to activate the re-stand effect or make it difficult to defend oneself. or if reverse Daiyuusha arrives in the future, it can make if you destroy 2 force then you leave the rear with -10000 and if it reaches 0 you destroy them in general. or he was silent like the great Daiyuusha, etc ... who knows the sky is limit PS: it would be better if the reverse of Gear chronicle is the Chronofang Tiger
I’m so excited to see what tachikaze unit gets reversed along with what other units we get link joker arc was so sick I started at the beginning of G maelstrom was my first reverse unit and seeing him back is great It makes me realize how much I love Vanguard
Reverse is my favorite Arc in the anime, I love the units and Omega Glendios the super weapon of Link Joker being the sub Boss, than Dragonic Overlord The Rebirth being the final Boss and one of the best fights in vanguard
I had a theory about the way they will design the Reverse units If the unit is super popular, then they will bring them as is. Luquier R and Amon OG are hype units as everyone loves them so they come as is. Then for the clans that have Reverse units already, they will be making all new cards. Hence the reason as to why they changed the Neo Nectar and added a Genesis Reverse. Some clans tho, will be exclusively non reversed. As you said, Gold was Aichi’s main clan at the time so that’s why Ezel Scissors is the boss. Royals I feel fits more into the second category as, at least from my memory, Ashlei wasn’t as popular as the other reverses but it could also fit into this category as Royals are Royals so ye..(Before anyone asks, no I’m not new lol I’ve been watching and playing since set 1 in Japanese)
As someone who started in V, I'm happy that people are finally excited about V stuff. I've always preferred V for my format of choice, and it's good to see others actually excited for it now and wanting to play it.
Reverse is definitely one of those things most people are hyped about, I personally am not the biggest fan but I still do enjoy it and have no complants on it, I was hoping that BT would stay clear off of the reverse in contrast to everybody else's opinions because lore wise it wouldn't make any sense but I guess lore doesn't really exist in V outside of Astral Poets with Isabelle. That being this is my wishlist on hoping for what's to come: OTT - Floral Magus or any Magus support in general bc the deck hasn't been supported since 2019 BT - Coral to get reversed and Pacifica to get Eternal or Planet Idol (One of her other 2 g3 forms basically) AF - Ramiel or Zerachiel reverse would be cool but also getting Metatron's 2nd form or a reverse form would also be nice, or a potential Ergodiel reverse because they still have yet to actually introduce the ride chain she had in the OG. GP - Garmore Reverse, tbh I'm not the biggest fan of golds but a lot of my friends are and I wanted a reason to kind of explore the clan more, Garmore is my favorite unit from RP due to his playstyle with the high beast, he doesnt' work like that in GP but at least him being Garmore is close enough as I have no attachment with the rest lol
I got in on the G series like when alittle more than half over. and when i started i came in hrd by buying mountains of old stuff for my decided 3 clans. and seeing Reverse maelstrom really shocked me ad i thought it was so freakin cool. cause i already saw maelstrom befforehand and seeing the evil link joker version made me realize, I Needed to watch the show because something big happens and i wanted to know. when i got thhhho th link joker season and saw the reverse units being formed it was so exciting to know that these heroish boss units turning into these eneies with powers and thats why im excited for this upcoming clan collection. I really want to see clans with their evil counterparts like tachikaze, OTT, and Nubatama. Im excited for the effects to be revealed and see if their keeping old costs or getting different cost like binding facedown or something.
I can see a Gear Chronicle unit being reversed in lore because they can time travel. It would not be too crazy to say that one of those units got curious or needed to observe that event and when they got there they got chaosed instead. Alternatively, Link Joker themselves can be the ones doing the time travel since we know they can from the Legion season and what happened to Blaster Blade. It would be beneficial to them to have a specialist in time travel lore-wise.
I'm on the same boat with Salome! Glad she's back and that now I don't mistide if I ride her in premium and miss the Marker XD. Glad a bought my Swordmy before the live stream

Ever since they did the big reveal back in January I've been thinking "V format will die since it's getting only 2 waves of support a year, and no one in their right mind would play the same stale format for six months straight" but now I want it to succeed regardless cause I love getting more and more gift G3s for premium! I'm so exited for whatever comes next in those sets!
I understand the argument when people said V was getting out of hand skills-wise, etc. But we clearly see now, the whole stance about "I'm so sick of nostalgia pandering" is straight bullshit cause it's suddenly alright when it's units they like.
I guess people are exciting that some units used by the Vanguard Fighters who weren't Reversed, Ren and Misaki, from the Link Joker arc are finally being recognized
We don’t know the DP unit yet, it could be Daiyusha reverse, BUT it could be Enigmans…. Or Great Daikaiser. Or maybe they’ll throw a curve ball and reverse Dailiner. I hope it’s Daiyusha though
I watched the original Vanguard series and I remember when I was so hyped to see the reverse unit. I wanted to buy a Vanguard deck but I cant because I don't have enough money and I was still a small child. Now that I am old enough to buy an Overdress deck but still cant buy the old Vanguard series deck because it's hard for me to track and buy each old Vanguard card.
I think this new batch of Reverse cards will be Reversed units that exist in the V series. That's why Maiden of Venus Trap Reverse wasn't the Neo Nectar Reverse unit, because the base of the card, Maiden of Venus Trap, Muse, didn't exist in V series.
Honestly I remember the reverse units when they first came out in the TCG. The rebirth imo was busted as heck. Luquier wasn’t too big of a deal back then. Everyone freaking about Maelstrom reverse. It was chaos when they first came and Glendios just made them better and now? Glendios will not only get better but have more reverse food for himself
What happened to Amon is that, although Bushiroad is the one who hired, the artist has full copyright, both artwork and the name. But then Amon artist decided to go out doing business with his own company (he's doing well if I remember correctly) and stopped working with Bushiroad. That's why we haven't seen any Amon with the old art style after the end of Link Joker arc. Until recently, Bushiroad has bought back the copyright of the Amon name, and they have to pay for another artist to draw Amon as well. (The same goes with the G1, G2 and Reverse Amon)
Link Joker is the era that I play vanguard the most and I always love the Reverse unit aesthetic so maybe I will try to come back to V standard for them Also for Salome, god that new art is just *chef kiss* 👌
DifferentFight u got something wrong. They don't turn reverse if they fought a Link Joker user only its any reverse Clan/User Because Kourin Reverse beat Kamui using a Royal Paladin deck.
As long as reverse don't lock their own stuff the hype for me won't die. I loved reverse format. Aside from how over powered raging form and dauntless were the reverse decks made the meta so diverse! Then chaos existed and it totally killed the format. If chaos only killed what was reversed by the controller's locks it could've saved them, but instead it made all reverse decks an auto loss against it.
Wait what about Blaster joker??? He came out during Legion era as a link joke but his aesthetic and lore matches all other reverse units so if he returns will he be Lj or Rp or will he have two clans (like bb spirit)??
I am partly sad that the royals reverse unit will be a jewel knight, as I have very little attachment to that archetype, but I’m definitely excited to see what type of reverse units other clans will get.

I liked using reverse units until 75% of my locals starting using Chaos Breaker Dragon. Then it just ruined the experience for me. I even had to switch to Gold Pals because they were the first clan to have an unlocking mechanic.
Man... Link Joker was my favorite series, so they basically coming back is already make me goes wild... But, they add some more of new reverse unit like Himiko ajd Revenger
For me I absolutely love the Link Joker aesthetic on other clan’s units and as a whole (It’s my main deck and I bought Orfist for that reason too.) I really hope star Vader’s invade overdress because I’d absolutely love that especially if Chaos breaker comes back (my favorite unit in the entire game)
Gonna be hype to see the new reverses from clans that didnt before Royals getting either alfred/majesty or broken heart reverse Tachikaze reverse gauges or retire or both Amon or another Granblue better respect reverse boss
Reverse bought spice to vanguard way back when, like you had the original version of a card and you didn't fully know they'd get upgrades, way back when i really wish every single characters star card got reversed even aichis to fit the aesthetic. I also want bad end dragger, gancelot, Angelica etc to get reversed speaking of which

Reverse units are hype for my, because Season 3 was the first one I actively watched evrey week and the end of it is still my favourite Vanguard Arc, containing some of my favourite cardfights, Aichi vs Kai with Dragonic Overlord the Rebirth, Aichi vs Reverse Takuto and more). Break your spell is probably my favourite anime opening period, which is why I'm still peeved to this day that they never translated it into English and stuck with first opening for Season 3 Which didn't fit the ton of the show at all and honestly almost ruined it. Also, I'm really exited to see whicht units they are gonna reverse. Himiko was defenitly a suprise already, I would have expected Angelica or Minerva but it only shows they we can look forward to probably a lot of new reverses. Especially interested who they choose for Gold, Gancelot, Garmore or Alfred.
As an LJ arc beast deity player, i hope bushi can save ethics buster reverse as they saved it in zero format, back then ethics reverse was hype and the first deck to actually allow 8 attacks in its time, but die so hard to chaos. Now ethics V needs its saviour in V format and i hope ethics reverse can do it

I'll be honest. Season 3 was by far the favorite, but it was rushed toward the end. If they continue to work on Season 3 with Vanguard V (Psycholia Zombie) element, It would be the best. Rekka was using Neo Nector, so imagine that Suiko use AF and Rekka is using NN on Link Joker season instead of Suiko use LJ and Rekka use AF.

(well actually i think it's more possible for battle sisters to get their reverse unit since yuri actually got reversed, but whatever). for aqf I don't know... maelstrom is like all there is to aqf lj era just like how luquier is all there is to pale moon lj.
