9:44 correction - You can iron SOME wool (like suits and suit separates), but knitwear is generally not recommended, or you have to be extra careful. The same goes for cashmere.

That one closed button at the top is a really particular choice.

Popular in Europe, are iron steam generators. Phillips is one brand that produces them. I think it's best of both worlds. 1. They are easy to store. If you live in a flat, having a a steamer that you can store in a closet is nice space saver. 2. They do make more steam. Used both iron steamers and the kind You have on video. Iron ones have way more punch. On the other hand I've burned myself a few times. 😅 3. You have one device doing double duty. And belive me steaming iron is way nicer to use than traditional iron. Nice vid bud, keep it going.

Love this channel, man. Such great production quality, editing, and personality. And you're totally right about steamers. I've gotta upgrade to one of these standing models, but the real dream for me would be owning an LG Styler.

Thanks! Appreciate that. And wasn't familiar with the LG Styler until you just mentioned it. Looks interesting and expensive.

Also, the best quality Nike or Adidas are going to be their current athletes' signature shoes. So if Anthony Edwards can run, cut and jump in them - they will likely last you years of walking up and down the street.

The other day my Tommy Bahama shirt came back from the dry cleaners with a tear in the collar after being laundered . So I’ve been talking a closer look at streamers. For shorts how do you do collar and cuffs with a steamer? And what about the area around the buttons when they are wooden? Also the steamer you are using is $300? At what price point are you no longer wasting your time?

Collar and cuffs can be tricky. Easy to burn yourself. For collars I hold the tips and run along steamer head while steamer head is stationary. I wouldn’t worry too much about wooden buttons. Just don’t expose for too long. Concerning price of steamers - so you don’t need to spend $300. My previous steamer cost $120 it worked great and survived 4-5 years of really heavy use and little maintenance on my part. Perhaps all topics for another video.

It is a Jiffy steamer. Pricey when it comes to steamers, but there are many other affordable options that’ll do the job.

Cotton and linen can clearly be steamed - but can wool and maybe even leather be steamed? With wool for example, will it cause shrinkage/felting?
@CoyoteSharp
@CoyoteSharp 3 месяца назад
Wool can be steamed, and when done correctly, won't cause any damage (at least in my experience). Steamers are especially handy if you own a lot of wool garments because frequently washing/dry cleaning wool isn't great (to my understanding), or you have to hand wash, so steamers are great way to freshen them up. But from my research, it's generally recommended that you DO NOT steam leather.

I have a steamer and use it occasionally. But I’m worried that the steamer will pucker my suits and jackets so I don’t steam those items.
