I feel like this needs to be exclusively a Pato bit, kinda like Ciaren(sorry if I butchered your name mate) on the comments show. That's his niche of video style and he thrives in it and I'd say this is one that really fits Patos style of providing information. He tends to have very clear and concise arguments with plenty of stats/points to back his opinions and views. I really thoroughly enjoyed it. However if I had to pick another member I bet Hamill or McCubbin would do a fine job as well.

I for one would love to see tactics picked apart. Maybe go into why Mourinho has worked in the past but seems behind the times now or why teams like Dortmund are over performing their expected goals heavily. Also Chris and Pat would be my go to guys for a show that is centered around diving deep into a singular topic. Though Joe did impress me on how much research he did for the podcast recently

One thing I really enjoy about this channel is that it isn’t always opinion based an when it is the people have the stats to pick it up patto imo is the best one for doing that and this format of a 1 on 1 conversation in an intelligent manner is something I can really get on board with going deeper into football that just bullshit claims to click bait titles 10/10 IGN

Absolutely love this as a strand, I think the perception that people only want short and sharp youtube content is as dead as the analysis on MOTD. A huge majority of us prefer longer and more in depth content and really appreciate the planning and effort that goes into stuff like this and the pod cast. FD/EFD are really taking the step up from a decent youtube channel to a genuine, go-to, house hold name in football analysis and content, keep it up!

I actually read somewhere, I think fivethirtyeight that the reason messi has such a high shot conversion is that messi uses his possesions to attempt dribbles to get into a better shooting position rather than just shooting compared to ronaldo. They actually use roughly the same number of possesions per game to score a goal, with a only a marginal lead to messi. However messi does create much more offensive opportunity is possesion since hes far more likely to find a pass shoot or complete a dribble where most players on excell in one or two os these areas.

Very much like this new series. But what I find most frustrating about people who talk expected goals is I think people think it tells them more than it does. I'm glad you touched on this. I irrationally hate the statistic because I know some people who think it tells them everything about a game, but I'm glad you touched on this. Great video.

I'd be interested in seeing some tactical comparisons between managerial styles, so for example comparing thomas tuchel and jurgen klopp's dortmund sides, or even possible explaining how the styles of certain managers evolved over time like jupp heynckes or vincente del bosque . maybe something like an in depth look on how a full scouting team and director of football work as a unit to aid the club would be interesting too. loved the new style of video and the calm , and accessible way it was presented
