He's only 20 and he only cost £7.7 million. Can't expect the finished article! If it was Chelsea they might have paid £77M or £107M. Seems very sensible to let him develop somewhere else and see what happens.
I have a great feeling avout Carvalho. He reminds me a lot of how Liverpool played around the time when the heart and soul of top prem teams were attacking midfielders (think Coutinho, Eriksen, De Bruyne, Ozil, etc.). He really reminds me of Coutinho too. Such an exciting player. Hope we gets a chance next season
when Klopp what Carvalho, I was thinking finally Klopp is addressing the squad, a young left winger/forward to be understudy for Díaz, Jota failed miserably in being an understudy in that role much better as a striker, with Díaz injury naturally it seem Carvalho would be give a good run in the team, but Klopp prefer to play a Núñez as defensive left midfielder. yet again no understudy this season, people clam Klopp best manager in the world when past 8 seasons hasn't been able to build a squad capable of consent challenging for trophies the reason why Liverpool fans love him is because he won the Premier League is done no better than Rafa Benitez or Gerard Houllier
I had a feeling he’d struggle, he is light weight just like harvey elliot, Fulham would have suited him. But it’s life, it’s not always greener on the other side.
Bit of a stretch this, nobody expected this youngster from Fulham to come straight in as a first team player, he showed potential and played more than I expected him too.
I remember Liverpool fans telling me that he was the best prospect in the championship last season & not colwill. Pretty sure they would swap him for Levi now
what come on mate!! we're drowning in attacking talent but we need a defender to shore up holes and even then we're ok defensively..... he was the best thing in the championship..... just like elliot was tearing it up
@@dozz87 if you were calling him the best young player in the championship (which plenty Liverpool fans were) last year you were saying he’s better than colwill
@@tspcontent4630one person doesn't mean "all". He was amazing in the championship and Liverpool paid 7m for him. You guys paid 75m for Mudryk, he looks like a pub player
What's not fully explained is the club he was sent out on loan to. RB Leipzig play a high counter pressing style, in fact it's an essential part of red bulls football philosophy. It's the perfect club for him to go to and get some experience. The difference between Carvalho, Elliot, and Jones is that the latter two have spent several years working with the first team, especially Jones. Carvalho has never played in a high counter pressing system and i seriously doubt he was ever going to get much playing time when they signed him last year. Klopp is obviously impressed because they sent him out on loan to Leipzig, which is like high press finishing school for young footballers. If he trains hard performs and gets the playing time he's going to come back as a 22 year old with tremendous experience. Experience he was not going to get with MacAllister, Szoboszlai, Jones, Elliot, Diaz, Nunez, Jota, Gakpo, and Salah all ahead of him. Klopp knows what the fuck he's doing. Now it's all on Carvalho to be a success. If he can't break into the Leipzig rotation he sure as hell not going to break into Liverpools and you sell. If he does he's essentially a new signing come next summer. I'm sure his Liverpool days are not numbered and it never crossed my mind that this loan deal meant he was finished because of the club he is being loaned out to. Great business being done there.
The clip suggests Klopp expected Carvalho to be a first team player, but I am not sure that is accurate. He was a 19 year old that Liverpool paid 5M for. If they sell him for the 15M Transfermarkt currently values him at, you've tripled your money. Liverpool saw a bargain and will likely make money from the purchase. Obviously, that doesn't mean you're not going to give him the opportunity to contest for the 1st team but once you see he needs further development, you loan him out and know that you will only sell him for more money. Excellent piece of business.
exactly! same with everyone else giving nunez stick! and he still scored tons along with salah.... yes they both missed sitters salah missed frikking penalties! i cann understand carvalho going to rb for discipline and learning the press! the reason we struggled was opposition running through the centre of our midfield like it wasnt there! Because it wasnt! Carvalho is attack orientated and obviously wasnt disciplined enough for the press.... RB will give us a report, if he gets a glowing report that will tell klopp all he needs to know...... LFC went all out to buy this kidso he has the offensive capabilities..... its when we dont have the ball that our side struggled! and carvalho like everyone knows is a small nippy fella, hes hardly going to be shoving people around when we dont have the ball i see carvalho as another elliot but obviously elliot has earned and proven to klopp trust and confidence as elliot is also not a big fella but has been in klopps plans
Carvalho is a couthino style player and if jurgen wasn't so stubborn sticking with ageing players who under performed last season, I believe carvalho would have come into his own
there is a decent player there. We just need to bring the man out of him.and he needs to be more stronger. He is good at beating the first man then he get bulled of the ball
He’s just a kid, it was a great deal on paper and the fact it’s a loan move reinforces that. Also, having both him and Elliot in the same lineup was a problem, too lightweight, so Klopp gave more time to Elliot instead.
What Liverpool fans have been saying he will never play for the club again? I think most Liverpool fans I’ve talked too were impressed by him and wondered why we didn’t see more?
he's just a kid, if he was a few years older he may have been trusted more. He was never going to play 30 games at 19, he only left on loan, 50-50 he could till have a future with us.
Players to stay Virgil,Jarell,Alison,Bradley,Trent,Macca,Elliott,Jones,Gakpo,Salah and Bajectic.Get rid of 11 players and call back some of loanees and elevate some of Under 18 and under 21.
He is a talent, im even said we are letting Musialowski go. These players are good but not for Klopp's football. They are suited to Guardiola's or Arteta's style or football
One thing that i still can not see from Carvalho, physical In premier league, if you doesn't have the physical, it is hard for player to survive. I wish during this period of time when carvalho playing at leipzig, he will gains experience in playing more game, at the same time, physical. He is just too small
Yes this is exactly it. It was clear in pre season too, he had no physicality to his game and you need that in Premier League. He also had no burst of pace to get past a defender. It was never going to work, especially when he was being played on the LW where Sadio Mané excelled in both those attributes
Nothing wrong with his but his best position is as a No.10, which Liverpool dont play and which you need experience for to play well at. Hence him going out to get more experience. I reckon he'll be back!
Talented but was obviously an imcomplete product. There was and is only a 50-50 chance he will make it in the PL IMO. But at the price LFC got him for, he is a sure thing insofar as some kind of profit is likely. If he does well at Leipzig, the profit would be big.
I’m a Hull City and Prem supporter and would just like to thank Liverpool for our loan deal. He was straight into our x11 after just a few days and showed some classy touches and assisted our goal scored also by another Liverpool loanee Tyler Morton against Norwich 1-2 in his first game for us👍🏻
The only reason that Fabio Carvallo have this problem is the assistant pep lijnders who create a problem with this young talent ...anyway the truth will come out someday ... in the meantime i can say only ... pep lijnders OUT
He needed a bit of ' humble pie' . After signing for Liverpool, he was called for the U21 Portuguese national team he refused to go and said to the manager he had nothing to gain by playing for the national team. A lot of Portuguese, me included, hope he never wears the Portuguese national team colours ever again. Young players become arrogant way too soon.
How do you expect Liverpool to unlock packed defences? With donkeys like Henderson? Klopp knows that he needs more creativity in midfield. That's why Thiago was signed, and they added Mac Allister and Szoboslai.🤣🤣🤣🍌🥜🥜
@@cjewe1z I agree but both those are midfielders with very good off the ball games. Carvalho is a 10 and is unable to function as a mid and add creativity to the team.
@@HishamR89, he hasn't even reached the age of maturity in football terms yet. He could turn out to be a forward, which a 10 is. I wouldn't discount him so easily yet. Mofos were writing Jones off for a long time. Like Jones, Carvalho showed enough quality for me to reserve judgement for a couple of years at least. When a player talks about winning the Balon D'or he has to be taken seriously. Also, what is Cristiano's position? Winger? Attacking midfielder? Playmaker (10)? Forward? Striker? Guardiola never played with pure 9s but he tried with Ibracadabra Without The Magic and now Haaland. Klopp played with Goetze and Reus? Are they not 10s?He used workhorse midfielders for his first Liverpool team. It looks like he'll be using more creative midfielder for this team. What makes you think he won't use a 10 in future? Do you think he would refuse Messi if he had him because he was married to playing without 10s?
@@cjewe1z Could be. or a free roaming wide play maker. Either way, he just doesnt fit Klopps football. I also have the same opinion of Harvey Elliot. He's not exactly a mid and not exactly a winger. I think there are loads of players that would do much better than him in his position in the league.
@@TheTruth-ht7qmhe signed a 5 year deal so he's got 4 years left, IF he gets 15 goal contributions next season for Liepzig then his price will massively increase from the 7m Liverpool paid for him
@@thehearingaid yes I watched a video interview of carvalho where he said he wants to be the best player in the world he's really ambitious no way he's accept being a squad player
If carvalho had klopp at dortmund he would have had the time to be a proper player….big club quick expectations and modern day fans play too many football manager to say whether a player is good enough for their club or not
For me I think he has great talent, but at 5ft 7in he is just to lightweight, combine this with Elliot’s 5ft 6in, Thiago 5ft 8in, we then have a very short and diminutive midfield, Jones is a bunch taller but still lightweight and then you can imagine the midfield being bullied. With Szoboszlai combining in at 6ft and Mac Alister at 5ft 9in these are definite increases in height.
I agree with your points but Jones is not lightweight at all anymore and has not been for 2 years. They put him on the same bulking up program as they did Trent and you visibly see his broader upper body now. You can also see when his back is to an opposing player he can shield the ball and retain possession before offloading the ball or accelerating away. Jones real problem is he is far too safe now and spends majority of the game playing 5 yard X Button sideways passes, he needs to develop a consistent killer pass.
@badabing8884 so I guess David Silva, Bernado Silva, Couthinho, Payet, Joe Cole, Zola, Paul Scholes, Makalele were all too small for the "physicality" of the Premiership as well 😂
@@peacelove8395 all were more stocky and we have two lightweights in the midfield and last season we were bullied sometimes in midfield especially by Aston villa
@MrJudgementday99 The 2 Silvas were not Stocky all, neither was Zola or Makalele mate. Scholes put on bit of weight and that's it. Bottom line if you are good enough with your footballing brain, you will be good enough anywhere. You going to tell me Iniesta, Xavi and Messi would have been too small for the Prem As well?
what dont you get...... FFS!!! LFC the team was broken and choppy and obviously we needed people who were mature and able to press when we dont have the ball!!! Thats why the opposition was running straight down the middle of our midfield!!!!? its a good time to send him out to RB and get some discipline!!!! If he gets a glowing report from RB its good! if not he gets sold on
