My Lore bard took the Find Steed spell at level 6 as one of his additional magical secrets. He had apure black warhorse with red forward facing eyes. He always had a lit cigar and fedora. Named him Predator. I had items that let me cast dragons breath and fly. So I used those items to give Predator a fly speed or fire breath. Was pretty great.

I kinda love the idea now that Weed is some cursed human/kelpie horse forced to stay in a horse form until proving himself in service to another/forced to transform into a human form

Okay, what if the mounts created by Find Steed are the incarnated souls of folks who did something dishonorable. So the gods make them serve as a mount after death, so they can restore their honor and get into heaven. So Weed is just this poor soul that wants to do good, but he's a horrible amalgam of the human he once was and the water horse he's made to appear as.

I doubt you can stack Wild Shapes, but I get the idea. Druids can be freaking tanks if they want to. Also, if you go back and look at the actual art of Weed, he dose not look that bad. Like a pug; ugly but in a cute way.
