280k figure means only the active reserve troops, however military trained personel we have approximately 900.000 men and women ready to go if full scale war would break out.

The reserve does not get money. And is obliged to participate in occasional refresher exercises if called upon. You only get money during the army and a fairly small amount. But the government pays for all the expenses while in the army, like food and rent, so you don't really even need money at that time.

Well yeah it's good to remember that in Finland, your cashier, nurse, teacher etc. is probably trained using rifle and bazooka 😅

Conscripts get nominal daily allowance depending on days they have served: 5,90 euros (1-165 days), 9,80 euro (166-255 days) and 13,65 euros (256-347 days). Military also pays their traveling expenses and of course food, health care, clothing and rent is free. Other money worth possibilities include E.g. possibility to get driver's license for free, which in Finland is quite expensive: "Sotilaskuljettajaksi?". One way to keep the costs low is to use voice effects instead of real ammo: "1.PionK kaipr sinko tst-pari". During the exercises reservists get 66,82-73,50 euros per day depending on their rank.

We have amazing SAS soldiers and when our allies need help taking out a compound, they call us. We sneak in and take out everyone and hand it over to our allies. Finland has nothing on us lol The Battle of Long Tan: In The Battle of Long Tan, late in the afternoon, for 3.5 hours in the pouring rain, amid the mud and shattered trees of a Rubber Plantation, 108 ANZAC's (Australia and New Zealand Forces) mostly inexperienced and young, held off a force of 2500 Vietcong Soldiers. When the ANZAC's ammo ran out, they called air strikes on their own position to take out the enemy and risked getting taken out by their own Air Strikes. In this battle, 18 ANZAC's were killed and a further 24 were wounded. At least 245 Vietcong were confirmed to be killed in this battle and an estimated 350 were wounded although it is thought that a lot more Vietcong were killed and the bodies were taken away in the dark of night. Vietcong tried to claim this as a victory and tried to claim that they killed 500 ANZAC's. That was later confirmed to be a lie.
