It is the most common for Parisians to leave Paris during the summer because most of us hate tourists. We are all escaping to the beaches ESPECIALLY during the Olympics. What you see in Paris right now is tourists.

Maybe this is surprising in other parts of the World different than Europe. We in Spain have Brits, France, German, Dutch police officers every summer patrolling with our Police. It happens for more than 10 years if am not wrong.

In border regions and touristy spots it's common all over europe. I know especially the police forces from Germany and the Netherlands work really closely together. But Canadian, Indian or Brazilian police is very unusual and cool.

Do not forget that since over 50 years all French people learn only French in public - they banned many foreign words. All signs must be in French language first! 😂 But "English" as native language and "English" as secondary language is a big difference - just travel around and you see it self!

It also doesn't help that because of north Korea, there were less so police and more so a MOBILIZED INTERNATIONAL MILITARY FORCE, protecting it. Because of how delicate the olympics were with NORTH KOREA participating, United Nations Command in Korea handled most of the security

What’s very interesting is that of all of the foreign police agencies in Paris only US police are carrying sidearms (pistol). I know that for example, in the case of this video, the average Korean police officer doesn’t carry a gun (or even pepper spray/taser), only a retractable baton, so that makes sense but the Brazilians weren’t carrying firearms as well. In another video there is a very large California police presence in Paris which makes sense as they have hosted the Olympics before and will again in four years.

I was there just two days ago. It was quite a sight. American sheriffs were guarding a horse patrol unit, while Asian legionnaires equipped with M4 rifles patrolled the Seine River. The heavy police presence was intimidating, and they clearly weren't interested in being photographed. I couldn't help but wonder if such a strong force was really necessary. That said, Paris was as lively as ever, without any sign of the usual troublemakers.

la France va enfin avoir des policiers avec des notions de langues étrangères :-) Mais blague à part, s'ils savent le mettre bien en pratique et mettre de côté leur bonne arrogance bien française d'éduquer l'autre à parler le français, ils pourront aussi en tirer un sacré bénéfice! No. It is about Communication and collaboration. Those officers are supporting contact to athlets and Team in matters of Security questions enhance patrols among country fans and fanzone. Some countries send bomb sniffing dogs and some additional Medical support. Paris will have million of visitors

Athletes from Russia and Belarus will compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics as Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN). Hopefully all these law enforcement officers from all over creation can communicate well and respond in time to threats. My suspicion is all these foreign cops will cause chaos if there is a terrorist attack they won’t be able to act in a coordinated way.
