The simple answer is Epic Games cares more about their fans than Activison does! Fortnite being more successful than COD is the only thing that will make COD do anything for the fans want!
The biggest thing is that Fortnite matches are plagued with highly 'unskilled' bots. Every round of Fortnite BR you can reliably charge at every enemy you see on the map and probably win the battle, where COD BR is the opposite. Because of SBMM, everyone you charge at in COD is probably better than you. In Fortnite, you and all your friends feel like pros every round. In COD, you and/or most of your friends probably feel like newbs most games. I don't even play COD anymore unless my friends are playing with me, because they aren't as good as me. The lobbies they get me into are more attuned to my skill level, but they get pulverized. I always have a number of good matches though. My overall K/D is still only 1.16 though, so it's not like I'm running away with it. But yeah. At this point I'd prefer if they just replace SBMM with a variety of multi-skilled bots.

And it’s not like there aren’t any other matchmaking options available, there ARE, but Activision is too lazy to give af. Its because cod has multiple storylines in the campaign modes that they will have to finish b4 they can ever do like fortnight or rainbow 6 seige. Mw22 wasnt mid and the movement made sense. Minor mistake in Fortnite’s introduction to new movement You forgot to mention at the starts of chapter 3 they added sliding and then they added tactical sprint and mantleing
Fortnite somehow also get's the matchmaking right.. You sweat a couple games and you go down and get easier game to lift the sprits.. like you might play a crown match and get a win, but you can bet your bottom dollar you are next game going to get a challenge. its casual friendly so you can manage your play style and not hate every match, plus epic actually responds if you email them, even if you mail the wrong place they will forward and get your someone to reply based on your issue.. its really refreshing.

Halo paved the way for Fortnite creative IMO when they added Forge. The community came together to made game modes and some even were adapted into the actual game like infected and griff ball

Reason why I love codm is cause they give you free blueprints, which is so rare to get it in Warzone or modern warfare or any other cods. You’ll get cool and free skins for gun and operators but there is one thing I hate they will never give you free legendary stuff After four years, they give us a free, legendary skin, which is really hard in rank mode. You have to get legendary six times which in my opinion is really hard. This is the reason why love codm. And plus you have every single OG maps.
CoDM is the best CoD, hands down. If they ever ported it to console and PC it would quickly become the only CoD, taking the place of the yearly installments. I honestly think that's the reason Activision hasn't done that yet, they know it would kill their yearly cash grab. It's not perfect in it's mobile state, but still better than any CoD I've played since BO2. A little polishing and it would be the perfect CoD game.

I can be competitive in fortnite, then I can also play casual. Multiple different modes to play. I have my main with close to 9000 games played, and I still play. I take breaks, but I love it. Warzone 1 I loved and had 845 games played, but that was only verdansk. I played like 4 games of caldera then stopped.

I've been a CoD boy from the beginning and the games are just getting worse and worse over time. The multiplayer onward for all the games post Black Ops 4 have been absolutely grueling and just not a very fun experience, they feel like a chore to play especially if you buy into the battle pass(which they totally ripped off from Fortnite). I turned my nose up at Fortnite for looking like a kids game AND the build mode which I could not wrap my head around and sucked at so I just dropped it completely. It wasn't until a friend told me about Zero Build mode that I really jumped into it this year and I've been having a blast ever since. Even with the latest CoD that just came out I really do find Fortnite to be the more fun and easy going game. Especially when playing with friends. Oh man the experience with partying up with friends in both games is night and day. CoD its a goddamn nightmare full of try hard sweats and Fortnite is just a damn good time to play when squaded up in comparison! I really am more happy playing Fortnite compared to CoD these days.
I played cod for 1 year with MWII (2022). I had previously played cod titles but this was my first time playing the series when it was brand new. I couldn't stand the insane sbmm and the way IW treated the playerbase. Its weird because a game like cod would appeal to my tastes more than fortnite, but shit business practices are the reason why I don't play cod anymore, and good business practices are the reason why I still play fortnite after 6 years. Also having to pay $60 (NOW $70) each year to stay up to date with cod doesn't help when fortnite is free.
The gunsmith is MWII was the biggest reason i loved the game. So many games have basic gun options but only few have something going for it. I miss tuneing because I could make actual builds. I made a sniper that had terrible idle sway and a shotgun that only fires three feet. I was sad they got rid of tuneing. I would give up a map or two for it to come back.
The reason Fortnite players are more happy is probably because there's heaps of sweats in cod warzone and it's hard to progress for new players, so they switch to Fortnite which is much easier than cod warzone. Plus you have to pay for the full cod bundle for all the game modes, while Frotnite is free.
COD needs to go completely free to play now, just call it Call of Duty, and support it forever, bring EVERY SINGLE THING that ALL COD’s had into one big game, all modes, all guns, all COD characters, and ALL maps into one game, and campaign could be combined with all COD characters and try something new, I hope Microsoft does this

This is a bit of a surface level observation but I’d say much of i goes back to how one approaches each game. When I first started playing Fortnite, I viewed each match sort of like a progression. I never worried about if I was going to win or how many kills I’d get and if I had any expectation, I went in with the mindset that I would lose but I had goals I wanted to meet, so it made me less concerned about winning and more concerned about achieving goals. In Call of Duty, it’s much harder to do that since there is such a heavy emphasis in the culture on winning and K/D ratio. When I focus on things like unlocking weapon skins or whatever, I tend to enjoy the game more since I’m focused on goals with the game. If my mindset is geared more towards getting kills and winning matches, both games tend to be the same level of enjoyable and I react the same to. It’s like that across the board for me.

It’s been proven time and time again in history that when the majority of people complain there’s an issue that need to be addressed/fixed. It’s just that Fortnite is open to many things. CoD may win as a shooter but Fortnite has an amazing everything else, STW while forgotten is still a solid game and creative+UEFN leaves room for creations from racing, gun game, prop hunt, build battles, party games and more.
In ch5 s1 they added two overpowered weapons, a ballistic shield which is like the cod one but you can use a pistol, and an auto shotgun which does way to much damage being able to two shot players at uncommon rarity
Cold War’s actually not a bad game. It’s only the gunplay that’s not up to standards. Everything else about it seems perfect. The campaign, ttk and og maps in multiplayer, and the zombies. Man especially zombies was awesome in Cold War. The quality of Vanguard and MW3 zombies can’t be compared to Cold War zombies.
I want to thank all of duty for being so bad that it made me start playing Fortnite with my nephew. I’m not gonna lie, I’m having a way better time playing new build, then cross the call of duty.
This is amazing, could not have said this better. COD just needs to bring back MW(2019) with new MP maps added, and new weapons added to what was already in MW(2019). Add the Pick-10 system, bring back Verdansk, and I would be happy forever.

I’ve never slide cancelled and couldn’t care less if it’s removed. Enhanced movement changes ruined the tactical pacing of the game since the days of BO2 imo, and are currently causing havoc for the SMG category in MW3
Fun fact: Call of Duty's SBMM (Skill-Based Matchmaking) is more accurately termed EOMM (Engagement Optimized Matchmaking) because, in the SBMM system, you get lobbies that match your skill level. In the EOMM system, it essentially rigs the game to keep you playing and get you addicted to the game, and EOMM doesn't prioritize connection like in CBMM (Connection-Based Matchmaking). There is actual evidence that points out that Call of Duty doesn't use the SBMM system and that it uses the EOMM system. I cannot explain it in detail or provide evidence in this comment because it would be too long, so if you want to know more about how EOMM works in Call of Duty, I recommend watching a video from primepete. The video explains why EOMM failed and the fundamentals of EOMM.
Epic has absolutely nothing to do with gears of War anymore that's all Microsoft and the coalition I do wish they still made them though they were definitely better under epic

Slide-cancelling was an overpowered glitch. You were essentially forced to abuse it if you wanted to compete at even a remotely decent level. I applaud IW for fixing it. Also, why aren’t you comparing a BR to multiplayer? Both BRs should be compared. About classes, the pick 10 system is flawed. If you want a full kit for a soldier (primary, sidearm, perks, tactical, lethal) you cannot customize both weapons adequately. You are right about the difference in response to feedback by both companies, though.

Fortnite can never die because theres legit so many things. You legit have maps for EVERYTHING. Creative 2.0 is insane you can legit make anything so your never out of content. Not to mention the battle royale is fun and theres a create competitive mode. The bosses and additions 99% of the time are good. Plus the amount of game modes game modes epic has that are amazing like lego fortnite a whole survival game and a whole racing games. They hated sweats boxing you instantly. No build. Still main game not fun? Just play the other games people made

Fortnite is also much more vibrant and colorful in detail. Fortnite also adds silly and goofy skins/updates to make players have a good laugh. People play games for fun and entertainment, not re-enacting WW2 or something.
