I feel like I have finally earned the right to review this camera. After a year of using X100V, I wanted to thank everybody who stopped by and appreciated my film recipe videos.
This is absolutely beautiful. RU-vid these days is so saturated with camera review focussing on the tech, the gear, instead of the art of photography itself. You've inspired me to take my X100F out more.
It's SO liberating to finally see a camera review out of 1,000,000 meaningless reviews that actually makes sense✔️ Faith in RU-vid is back (a little), thanks to you 🥇💐
I don’t know if it’s the music or the slow deliberate transitions between frames but there is a sense of loneliness and solidarity with your photography that really is quite beautiful. It’s almost like you captured these lonely, untouched moments a whisper before they were disturbed by life. Stunning shots and poetic thoughts on this amazing tool
In this crazy and fake world of technology and commercial gears comparisons, fashion and naked bodies, and … every moment losing the sense of real Art and beauty, humanity and peace… I really enjoyed your video, narration, music, wording, over and over… you made my evening with inspiration of leaving all my cameras, studio, equipments, etc and stop for while, again look at me and around, forget about exposure and just meditate by one and only one small camera, jpeg and no manipulation, no editing, just look around even if not to think how to review or print. Bravo and appreciated man…
To know you got something out of this video is my biggest accomplishment and the only thing I wish for while making it - thank you so much and I wish you all the best
These photos show moments that will stay with you for life, they are very precious and very Marcel. I only wish I had started photography years ago. You have inspired me to purchase my own Camera and begin my journey so that I can remember those special moments that are gone in a blink.
That is a very precious thing to say and very Joel. I am thrilled to read you are ready to start your own journey, I will be there whenever you need me x
This has got to be the most delightful Fuji film x100v review I have cast my eyes on to date, love the raw honesty, such confidence can only inspire, thank you. 👍🚲🐻🍀
Everything you said is exactly what happened to me when I got my x100v..... JPEG only, no retouching, and I shoot everything and anything. I've began documenting way more of my life, rather than just the shoots I would do for clients. This camera was the best thing to happen to my photography, as now my whole style, and views of photography have changed. I'll never go back.
Marcel, thank you for sharing your thoughts & thoughtful images (both stills & moving). You certainly have acquitted & extracted the X100V to your creative vision masterfully. Your images captured is the essence of “stillness of the fleeting moment”. Keep exploring & 📸 the beauty, the imperfect of the moment. ✌🏼& 📸
@@Marcel-YT_ I was inspired by your enthusiasm for the X100V that I dusted mine & when 📸. I’ve forgotten how addictive & a joy to 📸. It’s so easy to get great images from this flyweight 📷-My go to 📷 is a brick house: GFX 50R. Really appreciate your thoughtful content & inspiring images, Marcel. ✌🏼& 📸
Lovely video. Thank you. As an X100V owner I couldn’t agree more. It changes how you see the world and makes your photography way more intimate and extends your creativity beyond your wildest imagination. Simplicity with the latest technology yet simple enough to stay a purist.
`I never seem to search for my subjects anymore....' Genius. Of all the information out there on the fuji X100 series Ive finally heard someone able to say what I felt about the X100F when I owned it and couldn't quite put into words. Now I want to buy it again. Thanks Marcel. Now I remember what I loved about that camera.
This is the reality for so many of us. I didn't even know the X100V existed until about 20-minutes ago but I do know that much of what is said in this clip perfectly describes why I shoot.
well put together... i agree its a completely different world using this camera, you take photos that you would normally not bother taking with a pro camera gear, and those pictures have the most feeling and soul to them in the end, because its capturing the moment that its all about and not taking a picture...
Absolutely brilliant in every way. I was completely entwined in your story. I wasn’t just an onlooker. Captivating, real, and true. I own this camera for all the reasons you so eloquently mention. Thank you. 📸👍🙏
Pozdrawiam
Best video for this camera ever. Music, words and photos all excellent. That is the origin of photography. Camera is just a box of recording nothing more. Forget about all technical theory and just enjoy the every moment of life.
Love this video and I agree! This camera really makes you step out there and find that new perspective. All fuji cameras have that quality but this X100V I think embodies that the best, Self discovery. The 5th generation X sensor cameras are rumored to be announced in May and I cant wait to see how the improve on this camera
This was beautiful, thanks for sharing your experience with the x100v! I’m finally getting one in the mail tomorrow, I’ve been shooting film on a rangefinder but the cost just isn’t practical anymore. I’m so excited to get my hands on the x100v though!
Well done! Lovely photos and music. Your impressions of this camera have essentially captured all the reasons I have this camera on order. I’m looking forward to shooting a variety of film simulations!
I'm excited about it, share your first impressions and maybe some pictures once you spend a bit of time with X100V! I'd love to see some pictures from your area; your videos are incredibly relaxing to watch.
@@Marcel-YT_ I enjoyed watching this video again after finally receiving my long awaited X100V. I’ve only had the camera for a couple of weeks or so but already I can see so much potential. My videos are primarily about sailing adventures so I’ll have to see if I can successfully incorporate the X100V into this watery GoPro environment! The iPhone camera has been my constant companion for a decade now but this Fuji is a whole new level.
@@GrenvilleMelonseedSkiff496 I would have never thought someone would use it like you're planning to! Good luck with the projects and stay dry! My tip would be to capture some footage in 120fps, X100V's videos are amazing quality!
I very much enjoyed watching your presentation, Marcel. Yes, your photographs have changed and for the better! I can see how much the act of looking coupled with imagination has informed your photographic work. It's less rigorous and much more relaxed and fluid, with the camera being the tool to respond to your eyes. So, well done to you! (and BTW, perfection is for robots!)
Hi Marcel! I usually post them in the description of my videos devoted to X100V recipes! Let me know if you're interested in a specific one but can't find it, I'll post it here for you
This review make sense! Great sample footages speak!!(that snail picture is simply amazing!) Pleased to see the subtle difference between 100V and iPhone 13pro, like optical excellence V.S. peak of AI pre-processing.
Beautiful video!! What an artistic piece...never mind the camera being awesome. I agree, but you are a true master of it. Wow how do you not have more subscribers??
Hey Christopher, thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to read this. I am so appreciative of the comments under this video, I don't need to see high numbers. If I inspired someone, it was already worth the effort
Great video and your work is wonderful. I miss my x100t enough that I’m selling my Leica Q2 and going to purchase an x100v. I felt better shooting the Fuji and it is much lighter to carry around.
So beautiful. Im really thinking of selling my lenses and camera and going for this simplicity. But it's sold out everywhere . Wonder if xe4 can be used the same. Love the video mate 😍
Hey friend, I personally think XE-4 is one of the best cameras on the market right now and I should definitely go for it if it's within your budget and X100V is not currently available. It's a stunning piece of compact kit with interchangeable lens, and I imagine most people would actually prefer it over the X100V. If you feel creative, I'd say don't think about it and get what you need to help express yourself and you won't have any regrets! Thank you for watching.
@@Marcel-YT_ thank you for feedback 🙃 I've got the xs10 wich is perfect, but just alittle tobig to have with me everyday. So, maybe moving to a smaller XE4 would make me take it with me more often. Anyways. Have a great day mate. Been taking pictures all day in denmark with my family. 😍
I used a variety of film simulations posted on this channel, Johannes! You can check them out, the recipes should be in the decriptions! My favourite one is Eterna.
Fantastic video with the soul! Thank you! As a previous GR shooter, would you recommend x100t over GRiiix? I'm a professional photographer looking for a camera to go outside, the one that will force me and help me make images for myself. I'm currently going through burnout since photography became a daily job and I'm kind of lost the magical sense of it...
Hey Edgar, thank you for your comment, I'm still humbled by the response this video got, I appreciate your words and I want you to know that I do understand the struggle. We want to turn our passion into profit as it only makes sense, but the trap of burnout and abandoning your hobby is very real and I am happy to say that both X100 and Ricoh GR are excellent cameras to simplify your photography and step away from all the gear. That being said, I would ask you to think about your preferences first; do you mind carrying the camera on your neck, or would you rather have it in your pocket? While small, the X100 cameras are not pocketable, and Ricoh will prove itself as a better companion for everyday shooting, it's the most intuitive camera you can get, allowing you to shoot literally with one hand. I'd say go for Ricoh GR III as it's a newer model than X100T, and you will welcome the extra resolution and the pocketable factor. Still, if you love the concept of film recipes as much as I do, maybe X100 line is the way to go. Like I said, it all boils down to what you're after. If I were to step away from wedding photography, let's say, abandon all processing and just focus on the play of light and shadows, daily sightings and simply catching the moment, Ricoh GR is the best camera you can get. Pay the poor battery reviews no attention as it won't be your professional camera. Let me know about your decision and happy shooting!
I had to stop watching at about 25% of the video. I have to rewatch it from the beginning with a pair of headsets and full attention. This is one of those videos that demand nothing less than a full attention.
Hey Diego, I don't have an Instagram account but I encourage you to follow me here or visit my website from time to time. I upload all of my pictures on a regular basis there - check out the blog section! Thanks marcelwalkusz.com/
