Geneva (German: Genf) is the second-most populous city of Switzerland. Surrounded by the Alps, Geneva is truly a hidden gem in Switzerland and the definition of the “city of peace.” .” It is one of the world's major centres of international diplomacy, having served as the site of the initial headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Due to its location, Geneva serves as a transportation hub for most of French speaking Switzerland and for access to the Swiss Alps from points west. Geneva airport is served by almost all European carriers as well as a few daily trans-Atlantic flights. Within the last few years, Geneva itself has become a hub for the low-cost carrier Easy Jet, serving several destinations in Europe including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Edinburgh, London, Madrid, Manchester, and Paris. Geneva's main station Gare de Cornavin has connection to Neuchâtel, Bern, Basel, Zürich, St. Gallen, Luzern, Interlaken, and the Valais at least every hour, or even half an hour. Many Italian cities like Milan, Venice are connected by direct connections from Geneva. There is also a night train service to Florence and Rome. You will also find direct connections to Paris, Nice and Marseille.
If we are talking about tourist attractions in Geneva, then definitely Jet d'eau comes first. Located in the heart of the harbor, it is an integral part of the landscape. This landmark of Geneva attracts tourists from all over the world every year.
