I had 2 pulled! it was only a bit painful whilst they were pulled it. I think the real pain was afterwards, when the numbing injection wore off. Did yours hurt later on as well?

I had 4 teeth pulled in the same session and the actual pulling didn't hurt one bit after the local anaesthesia! In fact I could've fallen asleep! It was sorta soothing. HOWEVER, the actual INJECTION of the anaesthesia? That hurt a FUCK TON. He took the needle to my gums and went stab stab stab stab stab stab stab. And I though oh god are we done now? no. Stab stab stab stab stab stab. Maybe now? Still no. Stab stab stab stab stab stab. By the end of it, I was genuinely shaking SO MUCH. I'm surprised the doc didn't comment on it lmao. Also the following week of recovery was pure hell.

I just got my braces today and the only advice I have is to take Tylenol or Advil. I refused to take it and immediately regretted it.

I had a complicated tooth extraction done about 10 years ago and it took long enough that the Novocain wore off. It was so impacted that the top was pointed straight at my lips and it was halfway encased in my lower jaw. Thankfully my dentist knew me well enough that he could tell the second I started hurting and gave me a shot of extra strength Novocain. 5 minutes later I was back to being numb and he was back to fighting that tooth. He ended up using his laser to crack it a few times and pulling it out in pieces. That was also the time where his assistant fainted and caused my chair to pin him against the wall while he was stitching me up. She literally got dragged out of the room and he finished stitching me up alone. Thankfully we all ended up being ok.

Well Bentist, i agree with you it's not painful, it's a nightmare for me man, I get four teeth pulled out and three of them were healthy and whenever I get a tooth pulled out i get a horrible infection and the tooth place turns to green or blue and the pain rest for a month, it was really painful

i just had a molar removed due to it being really badly decayed. i thought it was going to hurt a lot, especially after the procedure, but i just made sure to follow my dentist's instructions for aftercare and i haven't had any pain at all save for some mild discomfort and soreness :) i don't deal with pain very well at all so i was dreading it, but it was actually more comfortable than i thought it would be!

I had a molar removed a month or two ago because I cracked a quarter of it off while biting a jawbreaker. Didn't feel the cracking, and barely felt the tooth being pulled out (no pain, just a sort of pressure.)

I had the back molar taken out 3 days ago. Cavity hit the nerve. Was terrible pain. While they cut into my tooth I kinda did feel it not much but it was enough to hurt.

FOR ME WHEN THE DOCTOR WAS PULLING MY TEETH OUT THEY GAVE ME TO WEAR A MASK WHICH MAKES UR WHOLE BODY LIKE NOT MOVE AND MAKES U SLEPPY U DO NOT FEEL ANY PAIN JUST A LITTLE

I wish I shared your experiences. I've had painful caveties as a ki and my experiences both when getting milk teeth filled and pulled have been less than pleasant over the years.

I just had an adult tooth pulled last week and while yes I was completely numb and didn’t feel pain necessarily. You do still feel the tooth being lifted and pulled from your gums! Also there’s audible cracking involved. It’s the stuff of nightmares. They don’t even bother putting patients to sleep for this procedure. It’s 30 mins in and out for 1 tooth.

Just had a molar pulled this past Tuesday due to it constantly getting cavities because it was all the way in the back with the cheek folding over it so it was very difficult to clean (even the dentist always had a difficult time properly reaching it, small mouth problems I guess), the pulling itself wasn't painful at all and I was on my way home again in about 20 minutes, it does have an annoying nagging kind of pain now as it heals up and I'm sure I'm feeling the wounds and stiffness from the two numbing injections as well with it, nothing that regular over the counter painkillers can't fix but I'll be glad once the 10-ish days of healing are done at least (we're on day 2 as of writing this so still a bit to go) I also got to keep the molar and it looks pretty gnarly, very interesting to see the parts that actually started to decay vs the half of the molar that is completely made up of fillings, since half of the top broke off due to it being brittle during the extraction I also get to have a fun cross section (it had a pretty big cavity on that side and that cavity was also the reason I decided to finally have it pulled instead of always pumping money into getting fillings for it al the time), now I just gotta think of what to do with this molar, throwing it away seems like such a shame since it looks pretty cool

So real question here... I'm getting implants put in and I need to have all of my old broken teeth extracted. How do extractions work when there is no tooth left above the gumline (although there are still roots in there)? There doesn't appear to be anything to grab on to...

I have had teeth pulled, the last one was EXTREMELY PAINFUL!! the dentist broke half the tooth and had to cut bone and sent me home with no painkillers and I was back there within 3 hours, left with a script for tramadol and that wasn't enough so I went to my dr and he prescribed palexia which definately worked..

Im getting some taken out in june for braces. But I have a few questions. What happens to the hole after the tooth is extracted? Does it fill up? Can food get in there? How do you clean it, etc. Thank you sorry if it was a lot of questions

I've got a tooth extract when I had my braces too ! Basically, the gap will be filled with the traction of the braces by pulling the teeth closer

I've had teeth taken out for braces, so hopefully this helps: 1) basically after the tooth is extracted, a blood clot will form which seals the hole. Do not play with the clot, or try to burst it. It's important you try to keep it there because it keeps infection and food out, and it's really painful if it bursts prematurely (unlikely to happen though, just be careful) 2) in my experience, food COULD get in there because my clots were shallow, but a bit of gently manoeuvring with my tongue or a toothpick got it out no problems. Once the clot goes away, and the wound is healed, you might still get food stuck in there, but as time goes on, the gum that once surrounded your tooth kinda shrinks, and the wound fills in, so there's no hole anymore, just a gap 3) like it said, toothpick was fine for me to carefully get food out. As for brushing, just make sure you hit the newly exposed sides of teeth, and you'll be fine. Few things: take painkillers in recovery. Don't try and be brave. Some people do find that recovery was relatively painless for them, but you don't want to learn that it's actually excruciating for you 1-2 hours before the painkillers kick in If the doctor sends you home BEFORE your wounds stop bleeding, ask them for more gauze to take with you. Change every 30min - an hour, or whenever they're nearing full. I got mine extracted at like 3:30 and they didn't stop bleeding til 6 o'clock And if youre getting a few removed, consider bringing something to write or type on. The doctor and receptionist were trying to ask me questions after i was done, but I couldn't speak around the gauze 😂

I had mine pulled and I had incredibly long roots. They ruptured my sinus wall. I ended up needing stitches and oral surgery, they didn’t numb it all the way. It was incredibly painful and traumatic. My dentist was practically on top of me using the chair as leverage as he yanked. I need one more pulled and refuse to go back…

My daughter's baby teeth have started falling out. Her bottom central and lateral incisors made a space for her adult teeth to come in. Her top teeth on the other hand aren't making space so now her number 7 & 10 are blocking her central incisors from coming in properly. #7 & 10 are slightly loose now and I want to ask her dentist to take them out. Would that be okay? Because her central adult teeth are coming in bunched up/titled and I would prefer to correct it now vs later with braces if possible.

I know a boy who pulled his baby tooth. It hurt. It did wiggle but one side was still very attached. He ended up tearing his gum. DON'T PULL IT UNTIL IT'S READY. I have had 3 teeth pulled all of them hurt, like heck! I have double roots and I needed more Novacaine than most dentists are comfortable with administering. They sent me to a specialist every time. To have a painless procedure, I was given so much pain medicine, the whole half of my face was numb; from eyebrow to chin. It was around 12 injections.

Got my molar pulled last week. Felt nothing but major pressure, but it really felt like they were trying to rip out a completely healthy tooth lol, strangely enough though the only pain I had was when I tried opening my mouth wider than a spoon and that was only for like 2 days. Still have to get 3 more teeth pulled this year however and that’s gonna be a different experience :( (I assume at least since I will be put under for it)

as a kid, my front tooth got wiggly but the other just wiggled a bit. my mother brought me to the clinic n had it extracted. it wasn't hurt. but bcoz my mom wanted to save her time coming back for the other one, she asked the doc to extract it too, prematurely, without anesthesia. that certainly hurt😢😢😢😢

I only had to have baby tooth pulled out I was very lucky but it really hurt as a baby tooth the dentist literally turned it 720° then it came out. Turns out the fault came from the gums which is why it was stuck. The gum is still repairing itself today

I wish I could be calm when I have to go to the dentist when I was a child my dentist was horrible he used to put his knee on my chest to hold me down and two nurses would hold me down It was so frightening and even though I have neve had a bad experience since I still can't get over my fear. I have to have 5 teeth out shortly and I am terrified at the thought.

A dentist took one of my teeth at the age of 6/8 (It must be between these numbers) and didn't use anesthesia but even if it's a baby tooth, I can remember how painful it was! So why this hapened to me then? Was it dentist's mistake or what?

My oldest daughter was absolutely ruthless with her baby teeth. First sign it was least bit loose she would pull it out in about 30 seconds flat proudly holding out her trophy, smiling ear to ear with all other teeth covered in blood. Every one of them.

Adult teeth don’t hurt that bad being pulled either. I was eating popcorn bit down on an unpopped kernel. Broke my tooth. Went to the dentist. Paid $90 to be seen $170 for X-ray and I think $50 for the exam. To find out the tooth cannot be saved. Which I knew already. They wanted an additional $500 I think for extraction. So I declined went home and pulled it myself. Wasn’t that bad. Mouth healed great. Not advising others to follow just saying it wasn’t that bad.

It's not the tooth being pulled that is painful, its the neck and head that hurts. Having to hold your head so the dentist can pull is stressful and excruciating. I just wish the dental nurse would hold my head so I didn't have to struggle to keep my head against the chair. Even strap my head down so I didn't feel like I was the one doing the pulling. I felt that if I didn't pull back the dentist would have had me dangling in the air being held by my tooth. I did end up having cracks in my jaw and now I am terrified my whole jawbone might be snapped off if I need another extraction. Please, dentists, you don't have to pull. We live in times where bone cutting implements have been available for decades so you can cut a tooth out from the bone. Xrays to see what the roots are doing. Take the easy way, not the cheap macho way - or do you like a suffering patient and that is why you chose dentistry ?

Please tell me they will drug me. Once I get my bottom braces on (that means I’ll have my bottom and top) they have to remove 4 teeth because my mouth is too small but I have the perfect amount of teeth- BENTIST PLEASE TELL ME

My uncle asked his grandchild how much he'd get from the tooth fairy when he had lost a baby tooth. He replied 50 cents was what he'd always received under the pillow. So uncle Bill offered to buy it for a dollar. The next morning Bill came out waving a 5 dollar bill and said that was what the tooth fairy left him when he put it under his pillow. You can imagine how upset his grandson was! Uncle Bill was such a tease! Miss him!

Hahaha you wont believe how much i waited to be one of the first comments but i had to watch the video first and whrite this😂. Btw when i was a kid i felt like it was rather satisfying to wiggle them around because i think blood is tasty🤷‍♀️.
