Earlier in my career i worked in a full service engine rebuild/machine shop, nothing got subbed out. When it was slow,id help them in the fuel lab. Pump rebuilds are no joke, the tolerances inside make a human hair look like a 300yr old tree in comparison. I couldnt live with a rebuilt fuel injection component unless it was performed by an authorized service center.
Black forest has a dedicated area and multiple machines to rebuild the injection pump. Also is Gus still owning and working at Pacific Fuel Injection in California he has to be in his 80's?
Let us know how it turned out. I have read mixed reviews about Fairchilds. My father needs the injection pump on his 280SL to be rebuilt, so we are looking at all options.
It s like rebuilding the old auto trans , no new hard parts , all the hard parts come from old cores sold by junk yard . This is same for injection pumps . The only thing i dont understand is why not buying a carb 280s unstead of a 280se , same car . the cabs on a 280s are very fixable , and are dependable . You dont see a 280s anywhere anymore , the best car .
Pierre can you do a video explaining the heat riser diaphragm under the zenith carbs on a W114 (1972 250C), how to loosen them up and were to get the thermo spring (mine crumbled in my hand) Does it have anything to do with hard cold starting. Thanks. Was under my car today changing the rubber fuel lines.
