I'm a caretaker to an autistic man of 42. I'm his 61 year old Mother. I also take care of several cats and wildlife where I live and My Dad was a caretaker and I inherited his traits. But I feel empty inside and I'm trying not to cry as I type this. But I need someone to take care of me. ❤

I am guilty of a lot of the things you've said. I am the giver, and have been for as long as I can remember. I'm learning to seek God on who he wants me to give to and who He wants in my life. It's God's will, not my own.Thank you for this word.

Bein' surrounded by takers will deplete us!

I've been a giver my whole life and after a narcissistic relationship realized that I have to change my circle. I am closer to God now and distanced myself from other takers in my life.

Phew, I had to learn this lesson time and time again. My circle is smaller now and I've had to let go of some friendships that were draining and honestly, toxic for my mental health. I'm always there for friends, family etc. but I'm more at peace now walking away when necessary and not feeling guilty about it! Thank you Lord for revelation and healing in this area 🙏🏽

Lord Jesus please give me strength. I seem to bear the weight of the world on my shoulders as a single mom, I often face challenges that can seem insurmountable especially with raising two children with special needs. I’m trying to balance everything but Lord I’m struggling to make ends meet, to pay bills, and to put food on the table for my children. Jesus hear my prayers and please continue to give me strength.🙏🏾💕

Yes in society the more you do the less you are thought of. In relationships your kindness will be took for weakness. You will be took advantage of. In work settings if you care and do a good job you will end up carrying everyone else . You will get took advantage of .

I don’t mine giving my money, or doing what I can to help out. In times of Need I will go above and beyond to help anyone of any color…. Need is just that. Need….. I’ve lived long enough to have been on both sides of the Coin. I can’t worry about who’s who, and why…. The first I ask myself is….. What would God Do…. What would he want me to do. You shall reap what you sow… One has to plant seeds along the way in life. I believe in GIVING. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 What I don’t like is someone wasting and consuming my time weighing me down selfishly with their nonsense problems. If God gives to me I will continue to give.

And I believe it’s not just limited to tangible things….takers will drain you of your energy, ideas, concepts, etc. Be weary of who you share your internal assets with as well 🤷🏿‍♀️.

A lot of time when you give yourself or resources to people, 10:50 10:52 they are not the same people who are going to give to you. You have to get what you need from another vessel, pool, or whatever. That is just the way it is!

Wow I really needed to hear this, iv always been the giver, not so much financially, but yes when I needed my family they were nvr their, and the one who did help financially only uses that to manipulate me and make me feel bad for reaching out, knowing what I was going thru, but found out he was a part of the game, it's heartbreaking cuz when I lost my son no one cared or reached out to me, they not only disrespected me they disrespected my son yet these ppl all think their better than me

Good to hear this, I've grown to realize that you don't necessarily get back as you give. I've always heard that you get what you give, no, not so. I keep praising God.

Thank you for speaking how it feels to need something and give so much and how someone wont do things for you. It reminds me how Jesus is always with us and there for us. It's heartbreaking how the disciples were not there for Jesus in the Garden of Gethsamane. I sometimes feel guilty for looking for some sense of reciprocation. I have felt so alone. God has been helping me to understand I do deserve to have someone to be there for me. I have felt like the people closest to me sometimes don't truly love me and have felt so drained, looking for love and support only to just hear words but just feel like it's all about what they can take from me. This pain was coming up and the sense of loneliness. This is such a timely message. Thank you. God bless you.❤ Yes Jesus himself said let your yes be yes and your no be no. And even Jesus took time for himself, and withdrew from crowds to spend time with his Father and pray. He fills us up and we are meant to have people that love us the way he does, people that truly value us to be the ones around us. I agree that we give sometimes without anything in return as we receive from God and as we pour out to others, God pours into us and the people meant to be in our life.

Hi from Annie, great topic very much needed. I have been a giver all my life and found those people I have helped always have an excuse not to be available when I have asked something of them, family as well. It has made me very sad and upset some say to me well stop giving, but I find that hard to do. I enjoy making other smile even if itis a kind word or a cake I baked or something I made them etc That makes me happy and I am on the pension so can not throw money around but try to support few charities over the years the best I can like animal welfare and kids charities etc. There are times can't do that saying no is hard to do. When you said us givers are meant to be just that...givers. Well that made me feel better. My so called friends laugh at my empathy and generous nature, maybe because they could not be like that themselves perhaps they laugh our of jealousy Maybe I don't know for sure. Also when you said there are times us givers get from those we do not even now that can be true as it has happened a couple of times to me. Thank you for your wisdom and prayers.

The majority of cases, 'those who need you, does not deserve you.' THAT part... Givers and takers; which one are you? -Givers often feel empty because: - They surround themselves with takers - Takers do not have the capacity to pour back into the giver Prov 19:17 - Givers don't always get the harvest where the seed is sewn; though, it may show up in other places when least expected. 2Cor 9:6-8 Don't cast your pearls amongst swine now. Keep the right spirit, sewing your seeds where they're needed; God will continue to make grace abound with you. God loves a cheerful giver; your harvest is coming.

“The users and takers are all over the lord’s house.” I learned this at the start of my relationship with god. I was supporting a friend leading an event. I was taking payment at the door. This older man came by, I remember noticing how it seemed he had sniffed out a place to take from. He lured me into a conversation about how “healing” the events were and have been for him. I pulled out the iPad to take his payment, and he literally pushed by me through the small doorway to avoid payment and take his spot in the event space. He didn’t ask about options if he had no money, he didn’t provide a donation, just a grown man, pushing past a (then) 19 year old taking payment at an event space.

From now on I ask god first if I should give. Giving does get taken advantage of and can sometimes cause issues with the wrong people. Better to ask god and give when you are meant to, when you are being asked to. When you’re a natural giver, you need those boundaries to say “no….” It not feeling right is good enough reason not to, and to not feel bad about not providing when you think you can.

I let many people use me unknowingly. I’m a giver and still am. I have boundaries and standards. Some people can’t that know my behavior can’t accept the new me or those that don’t know me that exhibit toxic behaviors behavior. It’s ok to have standards/boundaries and tell people NO. NO is a complete sentence u don’t need to explain yourself. You tell a person NO (not talking about children ) you will see if they have ur best interest it also let u know how they act if they can’t get their way.
