My Cat's Balls, exactly! I’ve lost so much of my hair. I used to be the kid at school with the amazing hair. In the matter of 2 years(junior in high school) I have lost realistically 1/3 of my hair and am still losing it to this day. I’m just hoping to make it through high school.

My baldness started when I was 17-19 years old. Really didn't care about going bald, until I realized that I was starting the whole comb over. I didn't want to be that guy with the horrible comb over hairstyle. So 5 years later, I decided to buzz it all off. Then shaving it all off. It's been 21 years since I've embraced being bald. I've been rockin' the bald look for so long, that my family and friends can't imagine me with hair on my head. Embrace the baldness, it's not the end of the world. Rock it, own it!

Preach! My hairline started its journey towards the back of my head when I was 14 (beat that!), and man did it suck. For years I hid it under a fringe, but the slightest breath of wind would expose my shame to the world. From 18 to 23 I had a much shorter haircut that gave me some confidence, but once I realised that I was developing what my uncle calls a "solar panel" on the back of my head, I realised that the ship had sailed. So I shaved it clean and immediately wondered what I had been so worried about. It was the first time I'd ever looked in the mirror and been genuinely happy. I should have shaved my head when I was 14, my hair was rubbish anyway. And now, about 10 months in to my first full beard, I think I look better than ever. Going bald was probably the best thing to ever happen to my style, in the sense that I actually have a style now. Anyway, great video Artie!

I love how everyone in this section is so relatable. I, like most of my hair loss comrades, started balding from my edges around 18-19. At first it was tough and really scary because I didn’t have anyone else to relate to. You try all these techniques to try and hide it, but its just bound to happen and you just have to accept it. Luckily, my facial hair is getting thicker and more defined so hopefully when I’m 25 (Im 20 now) I can shave my head and have that awesome beard. Even if you can’t grow that beard, EMBRACE THAT BALDING!!! You literally are seen as a more confident, strong man when you’re bald. Cheerz

I actually find this dynamic really interesting. Me and some friends have studied this from a sociological perspective for years and found there is a disconnect in the way society see's 'bald guys'. Since guys who do go bald have more testosterone, they are almost always capable of growing a full beard, yet they are still called "bald" or "without hair" despite having plenty of hair on their face. I don't see the difference between them and a guy with a super patchy beard but full head of hair (also very common). Therefore, I would like to see a more egalitarian future where beards count as 'hair' since that is what they are made up of afterall. Then the only people who truly can be 'bald' are those who have weak beards and poor hairlines, e.g Elon Musk.

At the end of the day this is a genetic fuck up. We need hair on our head because it offers protection. It also helps with sweat and cold/warm temps. Im sure someone has found the cure in the last 30 years but I'm sure it was a "FREE" cure that they couldn't make money from so it was never approved. Humans are greedy thats for sure.
@majortwang2396
@majortwang2396 3 года назад
@@PhillyBoyFitness - it's partly true. Sensitivity to DHT is one component, but if DHT reduces, balding will slow & if it increases, it will speed up. Also the body doesn't produce DHT directly, it's a metabolite of testosterone. Some guys convert a lot more test to DHT than average & some a lot less, but each man's conversion rate is relatively constant, so more test = faster balding

Very helpful and supportive video ... Thanks! I've always had fine soft hair so I knew that I was in for a challenge as I aged. When I was 30, I was diagnosed with Acute Myoblastic Leukemia, so I had to go through very severe chemo treatments for 2 years ... month long hospital isolation stays several times over those years. I lost my hair and was SO self conscious and embarrassed by it. Whenever I looked in the mirror, I flashed back to chemo times. I've been shaving my head for a long time and usually left scruff for a "beard" to make me feel better about the lack of head hair. I never had full beard growing ability (I'm patchy) so I never gave it a chance. I just turned 60 and finally got up the nerve during the pandemic to give a beard a shot and it's actually not too bad. I guess at this age I think, what the hell. Your video was great to watch!

I have been growing my beard and shaving my head since junior year in high school - almost 15 years now. I feel more confident without hair on my head. I look more mature, and more intimidating. Why would I care how intimidating I look? Because I was bullied relentlessly in middle and high school. But I hit puberty - nay, slammed into it - and grew tall. I am 6'3". Bald. Big red beard. Deep voice (like, really deep). People stopped messing with me. And that gave me a sense of confidence. I didn't even need to use my words to get folks to step off. Nowadays, I couldn't care less what others think of me. I learned that pretty early. But I keep shaving my head, because down here in Florida, it's nice to just radiate that heat away from my body. And the cool side of the pillow is just that much cooler. Forget your head shape. Change your head space. Shave your head. Try it. If you don't like it - hair grows back.

My hairline started receding quite a bit about 10 years ago, in my early 20s. Not too severely really, but enough to really smash my self esteem. And as of a few years ago it felt like it was too much for any sort of hairstyle. So for the last 4 years or so I’ve just been buzzing it to a zero. Hair and face, one set of clippers, same length, easy as pie. And it does suit me. That said, having just found this channel a couple of weeks ago I’m actually feeling inspired to let it grow back and see if I can find a style that works. My hairline might actually have a bit of life in it after all. Maybe. I’m also considering giving a beard a proper go. My beard has always seemed pretty thin and patchy, which is weird considering what my dad and brother have. But I haven’t shaved for a little over a week and I think there might actually be some potential there. We’ll see how it goes!

Started shaving my head clean at 24 years of age. 4 years later I´m still happy with it. As you said it, it makes grooming a lot less time consuming and the lack of needing special hair products, at least for me, is a gift to me sometimes and I can spend money on beard products instead. My forehead started getting bigger and I tried going from long hair with 18 to somewhat of a modern wave ( dont know what its actually called), to mohawk to finally saying f*** it and give my head a good clean shave. Cut myself a lot at the beginning, wore a lot of hats first and people were shocked seeing my hairless head knowing me and my constant whining about my hair before... Today its nothing special anymore and I just love to make clapping sounds on my head to make people laugh and of course myself ;) Beard on and cheers Greg PS I like your style, with a longer beard you get... me ;) Sorry for bad english

To my brothers out there: BEING BALD CAN BE A STYLE CHOICE! It does not signal weakness or inferiority. Shaving your head and not trying to deny your genetic path is noble and takes confidence. Rock the look and own it. When someone asks you why you shave your head (I’m not bald I just shave to a 0 bc I like the way it looks so I have to answer this question all the time) I answer: “BECAUSE I LIKE THE WAY I LOOK?!??” If people have to ask you that, they themselves are more than likely self conscious and couldn’t even dream of having the confidence to buzz their head.

My hair seriously thinned in my late forties which really bugged me as I'd always had thick wavy locks. I even once had a man-perm to make it seem thicker. That was so embarrassing! At that point I had found a book about male grooming, clothes, footwear, nails, hair, and facial hair etc. In the hair chapter it addressed about balding for guys, and said much as you do, which is that a bald head is not a bad or shameful thing, but is about how we deal with it! I still had a good MPB fringe at that point, so one day I plucked up courage to shave off my, by then, very sparce top hair and face the world as what I had become; a bald man! I add that that by then I had grown my facial hair to a neat beard & mustache which, in my opinion, adds greatly to lack of hair "up top". Believe it or not the world did not stop spinning, and that family, friends and colleagues soon adapted to how I was now. It's very true that we are all too introspective about other people's opinions, which, at most, are superficial and soon change to acceptance about us. After five years as an MPB man I was at a barber one day having my every three weekly "trim", and, on an impulse, told him to "shave it all off please". He asked me to confirm my instructions, which I confirmed, and in about two minutes my fringe was all clippered off, and I really was a bald guy! It really was an epiphany for me! It was in the mid-nineties and where I lived had a prohibition about barbershops shaving because if the HIV situation, so as soon as I got home I lathered up my clippered stubble, wielded a razor and then was truly a chromedome. That was twenty-five years ago, and I have never regretted that decision, I felt more confident in myself, about how I looked and how I was perceived. I hope any man now in my position of many years ago can take this to heart and "just do it", and rememberthat the world will not stop spinning if you take my advice! Phil, Costa Rica.

This works for me even though I'm the opposite. I have a thick, full head of hair but a very patchy beard which I shave.

I'm 21, my hairline receded a little bit but my problem is that I have 2 big spots on the top of my head that went very very thin compared to the rest of my hair. I started going 1 on the clippers and it feels better. My beard is almost connected but still has some patches and I'm working on it with minoxidil. I need also to work on my body and get jacked. Personally I don't give an F about it. If it happens it happens. Stay strong fellow bowling balls 👏💪

Nothing much man, came home from work some couple of hours ago and grabbed a beer. Working part-time plus writing my bachelor thesis, so I guess that little break is okay, haha. Hard work will pay off one day won't it. Hope you had a blessed day, cheers to you and other viewers. Best, F

Definitely NOT easy! Gotta buzz my head at least 3 times a month, cause the few remaining hairs starts to grow and it gets ugly very fast. So the bathroom gets messy, I have to clean it every time... Neck lines finish demands attencion once a week... (more bathroom cleaning) Also with less hair I end up using a bigger beard, wich is harder to take care of... Sunny days require some kind of protection, like a hat or something...

Loosing my hair young was the worst thing that ever happened to me, lost my confidence no matter what I did I got more depressed as years went by. Reality is no every guy looks good with a bald head, not everyone has the bone structure and head shape like you, not every guy can grow a full beard like you, you are lucky you can rock that look but again, most men don’t, I’ve been so depressed the last ten years is hard to get up every morning and live normal.

Hey Guys, Being bald is great; shaving it is awesome, it's very easy to maintain too, fresh and clean. Perfect. Only one issue I have with my bald head, which I really like you to help me with, is Cold. I have to wear a hat all day outdoors and sometimes even indoors, I'm wearing a hat right now as I'm typing this, and if I don't I will most likely catch a cold which is horrible as you all know. So any ideas on how I could make my scalp less sensitive? any products I can use? Like something that would add a layer of protection? Maybe Beardbrand can think about develloping something like that. An aftershave or a scalp lotion for the cold weather or at least something wind resistant.

I see. Well, then I should probably just get a few colds before I could enjoy a hatless existence hhhhh I can't pull off hats, beanies... caps sometimes but I can never find the right one. Anyways, Thanks for the reply and the video.

From what I understand, it comes from your mothers side of the family. Mine started around 15 or 16. It really can be hard, especially with everything else going on at that age.

Its about the genes, whoever genes are the most dominant, are the ones that detetmine whether you get bald or not, grow full thick facial hair or not, if you are tall or short, etc

I believe that a good reason will be the fact that there are more possibilities for you to grow a beard when you are going bald.I'm not saying that if you are bald you have a full beard or if you have a full beard you will be bald.It depends on genetics,testosterone and dht levels.So embrace your beard you lovely bald guys!

Holy crap you do kinda of look like Dana White lmao. Honestly I love shaving my head. I started having thinning hair about 7-8 years ago and I’m still rocking short hairstyles, but I’ve shaved my head twice and it’s amazing and I love it. Only reason I haven’t maintained it is because the sides of my head break out badly when I shave my head.

Hi can someone give me some advice please? I've just started growing a beard- it's still very short at almost a grade 2 (6mm). And I've got a fair few stragglers. My question is shall I leave these stragglers until they get longer, because I think once they get longer they'll just stop sticking out and be weighed down and sit well with the rest of the beard? Or shall I cut them off now with scissors? Cheers

Hey Bald&Bold, Things I wanna put pretty clear to you: ) Me; I didn't go bald i transferred my hair from the top to Beard and the whole body coz i don't wanna be a kid forever. Men grow and experience the taste of change and that's life. For all those Who's worrying about bald head and no women, you are wrong!!! Or that women is materialistic. To women it's a sign that you can be sure that your sexual life's gonna be awesome and long lasting.. choose a bald guy so you can be sure that he's most probably a mature man. I've reached to a point that people who try to make fun of bald guys are usually the people who are immature and are afraid of dominance and power that bald guys carry. I've seen people with full head of hair envying bald guys. And there are different levels of handsomeness with baldness, I would say no human being have control over it. I'm happily bald and bold.
