Bardock is super strong like Goku at the same time he is also cold as Vegeta and though being cold he is also kind hearted That's why we love Bardock He didn't want to destroy planets but he had to because of Frieza rule According to latest updates in the new chapter 82 of DBS manga Goku had a flashback of his parents Let's hope so Goku resurrects Bardock and Gine , it will really break the internet and will crash all the servers
I know why goku dosen't care is because he dosen't know how much his father love him and care about him and his parents sent him to the earth so he will survive and if someone like king kai or whis tells goku about his father and mother he would care and wanna wish them back to the life. Bardock was like early vegeta. I mean he destroyed other planets mercilessly but he loved his own saiyan race. He fought frieza to protect saiyans but if frieza destroyed other planets he wouldn't have done anything.
You are wrong Vegeta didn't really love all saiyans as you mentioned for Vegeta's earlier thinking.......He killed his team member Nappa in Saiyan Saga because he was not able to defeat Goku........ His thinking states that he wanted and still want to be a Number One Saiyan and that's all.........
Bro first thing Bardock was good second in a episode when goku reaches his last form he merged with Barrock. Bardock was inside goku so we can say Bardock is alive in Goku. When Vegeta realise about his mistake he frequently filled king Vegeta (his father). From that we can conclude that both fathers are alive in the son's.

Bardock was not a bad guy. In manga monaito said that bardock fought against gas to protect him and granolah and his mom. Bardock also told lie to other Saiyans to protect them.
