@RobertMitchell and I went out to bed in the brakes of Apex Cupra. It was a fun lap! Get in touch with me on social: / mgcharoudin / mgcharoudin / mgcharoudin
Hey guys..I am the driver of the i30 N in front of you at the entrance of the track. I did have a ticket for a lap, but my phone died on me just as I wanted to show the guard the QR Code 😅🙈 That is why it took so long and I had to turn around at the end. But sorry for that anyway 😉
as us old skool hot hatch owners have known for years, you can spend tens of thousands on engine tuning to shave a few seconds off a lap time, but spend £1500 on upgraded disks and pads and you'll save the same amount of time
I worked for Brembo North America and yes good brakes are great, in fact it is the cheapest g-forces you can buy. But putting huge rotors and 8 piston calipers on your Honda Civic - not so much.
Great video. I'm willing to bet that even though the M2 had more power, if you had the full straight you might have overtaken him because of the draft/tow.
On my brembo brake pads and discs I had to drive slowly and brake very lightly the first 200 km since install. I guess it's different with each manufacture since you can race on brand new brakes?
Misha my friend, you said you hoped people appreciated your videos, well I most surely do !!! And I imagine Robert has talked to you about how bad American drivers are & I wanted to say the USA sure could learn alot from German drivers. Oh on a side note, my Scottish side thinks Robert should be called "Robert The Bruce" !!! :-) TYVM for all you do !!!! Much love from Ohio!!!! Now I'm going to watch Robert's new video.
So many guys at work who mod their cars with re-maps, exhaust, lower suspension etc etc and seem to think that brake upgrades are a waste of money :(:(:( Always feel like their dad telling them it's the first thing they should do lol
Whats the current situation there now. Are the carparks still closed? Is everything pretty much back to normal? Wanna try and get over to the ring in the next couple of weeks
Social distancing rules in place, most federal states require you wearing facial masks in public spaces and shops, limitations on how many people can crowd (max 10 most states), (reasonably) quick in imposing regional lockdowns if need be, track & trace new infections, voluntary app available,... on Nürburgring, no spectators allowed, trackdays with social distancing and often the requirement to wear facial masks whenever you get out of the car. Most big corporations still have white-collar staff working from home and very little / no business travel (I used to be on the road 2-3 days a week, not happening since mid March). Let’s see whether that is sufficient to control the 🦠
After seeing you say never go above 50 in yellow flag areas I always had a question, what happens if you speed? Not as in if you're doing a 100, that's obviously going to result in a ban. But if you go let's say 55 will you be banned for that? Because if it is anything like German streets where you can get a fine for 1 over after the 3kmh tolerance then the answer is yes. But are they that strict on the ring or is it more of "if he's not an inconsiderate ass mobbing even though there is a yellow flag we don't care"?
