Good video Lester. I like to think I work hard it trying to improve. Maybe I am improving but only see small increments of it. However, I don't give up..
i think the overall analogy here is solid, but i don’t think it’s productive in general to view these things as competitions. in my opinion both guitar and dark souls (along with any other skills worth learning) are only you today vs you yesterday, like you said towards the end. i do believe that if we really do love the thing we’re trying to improve at, then seeing someone more skilled just shows us what’s possible if we stick with it. no point in feeling frustrated if you’re working hard but not improving as quickly as others. their hands will never be your own, so learn from others and make your own hands something to be proud of.
I have to say that the comparison of playing guitar to Dark Souls is pretty close. I can only vouch for those tips at the end, especially the first. You will drive yourself nuts and get frustrated when you compare yourself to others or worse, stop playing guitar all together. Some serious wisdom in this video👍🎸 greetings from Lotasticland Btw what would you say is the 'Ornstein & Smough' battle in terms of playing guitar? For me, it has to be that neoclassic lick from 'crossroads'.
