I always really love your takes, this is spot on how I see it and feel about it. I always say im so mad they killed Corey but I didnt think of the fact he has that Michael evil now which kept him alive through so much insanity. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!! I appreciate it! I think a Corey story continuation would be something different and maybe give the franchise new life. They could always find a way to bring Michael back bc it is Hollywood lol. But a continuation of Cory as the new shape would be interesting. Fans would still be divided but what else in new?
I respect your opinion and you do bring up valid points. My issue with Ends was the fact that it was the third movie in a trilogy and tried to tell a whole new story. Halloween 3 as a standalone film works because it has no ties to the previous movies. Ends was supposed to be and was advertised as the final confrontation between Michael and Laurie which just did not pay off.
It could never be that, not with BlumHouse forcing a trilogy out of a planned duology. Ends was never a part of the initial intention of '18 and Kills, so the story was pulled too thin, hurting Kills by making it pointless and leaving too little for Ends to wrap up without yet another and probably uninspired rehash. I'm happy we finally have a generally consistent trilogy, although I do wonder how it all could have ended had greedy suits not gotten in the way. I like to look at the og '78, '18, and Kills as the complete trilogy, and then Ends as a Coda to accompany it.
Thanks for watching! I mostly agree with you on this. They did have an entirely different idea, but the pandemic gave them too much time to rewrite and go with something else. I still think it will be more liked later down the line than it is now.
When I watched Ends for the first time, I liked it. I really like the Halloween franchise (H5 is my favorite), so I thought it was done well. I understand people being upset that Myers wasn’t in it more and that Corey beat him up. But Myers came back, kicked Corey’s ass, tried it with Laurie again, and was killed. I like the idea of a new storyline with a new “Michael Myers”. It’ll be refreshing and show that it wasn’t necessarily about Myers himself, but the evil within him and that it can be carried on regardless of the vessel it lives in. Plus, some of that evil could’ve been transferred to Laurie when Myers grabbed her in the kitchen and she head the flashbacks. 😉
I Unapologetically love Halloween ends. I completely understand people wanting a more straightforward ending but I just can't get mad at a series that changes it up a little bit for its 13th entry. I like the story I liked the characters the dialogue was the best of the three and overall it was just really entertaining. A lot of people say that there's not enough Meijer in the film but he's actually in this movie more than the original Halloween and I think it works.
Thanks for watching!! I Completely agree! Definitely had the best dialogue and cinematography for sure. I'm one of the people that would have like to see a little more Myers however, like I said in the video, this story wasn't really about him. It was about the bigger picture of evil itself.
