I don't hate Harley riders. Ride whatever you want but don't turn your nose up to me for not wanting to pay a brand premium and seeing greater value for my dollar in another brand.
I own Harley’s and hondas and a love and appreciate both. But Harley’s own it in build quality, real steel and chrome Vs plastic. Now is it worth 10k more for that? Depends on the person
@@jesusamador4661 Yeah. I have a 2005 Honda VTX1800C that I absolutely love. Not a huge fan of the chromed plastic though. In the process of blacking a lot of that stuff out.
@@sociopathmercenary I had the vtx1300c it’s a phenomenal bike and the most reliable bike I can think of in design. The 1800 is a terrific bike that will rival 50k Harley’s in performance. They just lack the refinement in the details but in its price point during its production it was hard to find a better choice.
Do you think any car is worth it’s price? The value of your dollar is forsure a personal opinion no one should interfere with. I really see a more value for my dollar in a 40k Camry more than in a 80k BMW for example. Would that make the Camry better? Depends on many factors that are different between each individual.
Some Harley riders are O.K. The other 75% are 'Cycle Snobs. It's been that way since I was a young dirt rider kid 50 years ago. I was trying to be a better rider. The Harley- only groups, the uniform, the snobbery, looks like a bunch of posers. The vast majority, not a 1%er. I've had several motorcycles, including Harleys. It's the attitude of superiority.
Yea. But. Sort of. We prefer Harley’s. I mean if someone wants to ride a Crappy bike. That’s ok. Sort of. But just get a Harley What’s funny is I have a buddy that was always like that. “All bikes are great. Shouldn’t snub guys who don’t ride Harley’s”. Sold him a road glide a few years ago and now he is like. “If it ant a Harley it’s crap” 😂😂
Hell I didn't care then. Bikers aren't hated for what they ride its how they ride. When there is mutual respect everything is fantastic. When Bikers act like they don't have to follow normal traffic laws that's when problems happen. It's the same if automobile owners drive disrespectful.
Exactly! You don't care about others ( who don't like your loud ego bikes ) and that's plenty reason to dislike you. Main reason for these loud bikes is to annoying anyone around. You enjoy being hated. That's the whole point.
We are older and have outgrown the need to race from stoplight to stoplight. We can afford a 40k bike and a house. We are probably your boss at work. We can take our girls on trips in comfort and style. We throw huge parties / rallies all across the country with great food and world class bands just so we can see our distant friends. When we come across another biker it isn't about who has the faster bike.
As a Harley owner of 2, I’m 62 years old and ride my latest 2023 Lowrider St with a stage 2 done. That 117 ci is all I need. My sons friends tell him, damn when I’m his age I hope I can ride like that.
Because they get upset when others pass them! They want to hold back other bikers who prefer to ride at a faster pace. I have a Harley and a BMW it doesn't matter what I am on HD Riders don't like me passing them even though they are under the speed limit!
I have owned 2 Harleys and now ride a Goldwing. I have encountered far more hatred from GW riders toward HD riders than I ever did riding a Harley. I will be back on a Harley.
Idk about that but I've been told by several Harley riders that I should get a real bike. My US built Goldwing is not a real bike to them. I do see their point, it's not very bad-ass and some Goldwing riders don't even have tattoos. A young dude was stranded on his Softail near a bike show and none of the other Harley riders would stop to help him. I knew from having had a similar bike that it was likely a loose connector under the seat, and it was. But he had already drained his battery. Good thing I had jumper cables.
#1 reason. MOST are way too Loud. That invades others right to a peaceful atmosphere. In a nutshell they project the riders as selfish and uncaring of others. This goes for any loud cars or motorcycles but Harleys are frequently the culprits.
Personal opinion. Nothing to do with the bike . Any Harley rider I have talked to has a attitude that they think they are better than anyone else on the road. And they look down on you
From a Harley Owner, 2020 Road Glide special, the hate comes from seeing how much these Legendary motorcycles cost and are too afraid to take the risk of financing a Harley. Life is too short to be afraid of the risk..that comes with Great Reward. Ride Hard💪🏼Be Blessed
It’s not “Harley riders” that are hated, it’s a group of Harley owners known as the “hell yeah brother” Harley owners that get the rest of us a bad reputation because “nothing is better or faster than my Harley, BROTHER!”
Probably got something to do with the majority, ( in my experience) are brand snobs and pay out on anything that isnt a Harley. Also most are rude and think they're badasses. In reality they're an aging idiot, wannabe outlaw biker who watched one too many sons of anarchy episodes. Of course this doesn't apply to all harley riders, just the vast majority in my opinion.
I tried to talk to a Harley guy, I didn’t know, at first, he was a Harley only guy. He had a bad attitude and everything after that. I ride a sports bike, and I’m friendly to every rider. Even if they want to be an ass because I’m not on a Harley.
I’ve owned Harleys and metric bikes. They each have their unique strengths and weaknesses. The best bike I’ve owned in my 40+ years of riding is my Transcontinental Venture, a Harley like metric luxury touring bike. Go figure. lol
they're mostly jealous they dont have that kind of comfort on their crotch rockets, every 20 miles they need to stop because their backs hurt from hunching forward
I think the question is posed backwards... "Why are Harley riders so critical of everyone else"... I know.....not everyone is like that, but I think it's fair to say that is the average HD riders view.... "Get a real bike!"... Honestly I think it's just mindset....some people love motorcycles, some people just love HD...it's just such a vanity for dudes who claim things like "live free or die"....because nothing makes you an individual like a $500/month motorcycle payment.... I think the numbers show that they decal shoppers for the most part. I feel like if I pull up to a meet with my CBR or (if I dare) bring the DRZ I just don't get treated the same as they treat each other...like I'm on some novelty bike...sometimes I wanna challenge them to a performance test but I know vanity is unreasonable
Everybody hates Harley riders because Harley riders are always saying if you're not riding a Harley Davidson you're not riding a motorcycle you're riding crappy bike, the insults go on and on blah blah blah 🙉🙉🙉🙉💩
I have an '05 Fatboy but what I think Harley guys are so hated is because Harley guys are usually elitist about Harleys and there's no room for anything else anything people hate us for that reason but I also think it goes both ways for people that ride sport bikes
Haters will hate what they can’t afford 😂 No, but really. You never hear anyone saying that they can’t afford a Harley, instead they will find all sort of reasons why it’s not for them, whether that’s style, speed, they break too often, or the stigma that Harley comes with.
@@craig2Afreedom oh yes.. so expensive.. I used to pay £200 for my annual service on my old Z900, and now I'm paying £225 for my Harley.. So so expensive. . Or a stage 1/2 it's just a little bit over £1k on a harley, whilst changing the headers/exhaust on my old bike was nearly £1k.. 🤣 Yes it can be expensive if you go crazy on all the mods and upgrades. but you don't have to :)
Just my opinion, Harley’s are very expensive, therefore a lot of people can’t afford them. As far as most motorcycle riders go, it’s about the ride, no matter what bike you’re riding.
Nothing could ever change my love for Harley-Davidsons even if I have to wrench on it all the time I love it. That's part of the Harley-Davidson lifestyle!!!
People don’t like Harley’s because they breakdown a lot. And before you try to defend it, yes they do breakdown more than any other known large motorcycle company on the planet. They have the highest maintenance cost, then BMW, then Ducati. We hate those other two brands for the same exact reason. My Honda and Kawasaki never have major issues in over ten years of ownership,, and I ride a lot. I ride with Harley guys and at least two Harley’s breakdown every ride.
@@midwestking2490 maybe... but I think the reason people are safer is because Harley riders aren't trying to drag their knees around corners and riding at extreme speeds like many sport bike riders do.
I actually bought some louder pipes to help let the deer know I'm coming... So I get where you're coming from. I do take that statement with a grain of salt when it's uttered by someone that's not wearing a helmet or any other real protective gear.
Personally I like loud motors and loud rock and roll. They're both music to my ears. I have a helmet sticker that says " if it's too loud, you're too old. I'm 63 by the way
I've never met a group of HD riders I didn't like. Even before I owned one. I rode to Sturgis when I was 20 yrs old on a Honda CB750...nobody gave me any crap. That was 1990..actually quite the opposite when they found out it was 1800 miles one way.
We're hated because we represent a brother & sisterhood that doesn't have to prove to anyone that we don't care if you like us or not. Whether we ride alone or in a group. We always have the same attitude 🏍🏍 Just my opinion
Perhaps its jealousy appearing as hatred. I know people sure put them down. (Other bike owners). BMW. Gold Wing. Sport Bike owners. I ride an American VTwin long bike. I wouldn’t want to ride anything else.
They look down upon other bikers....there are riders who ride Harleys....and there are Harley riders...not the same thing...BTW...I am a rider who rides a Harley...😂
I'm 47 and been riding motorcycles of all kinds since I was 8. I've never once experienced any hate whatsoever. Currently riding my fourth Harley. The hate is a myth to me.
My neighbors mention Harley Davidson specially in all their complaining to the courts. 3 other bikes and the 883 is stock-exhausts, however the get initial momentum with Harley=evil. An off-duty sgt prison guard spreads rumors that I’m a biker, only because the 883, no patches etc
I don’t hate HD riders. But in Wisconsin they (most) act like they own the “best” motorcycle in the world. I’ve been laughed at for riding a 1985 Honda and 1994 Yamaha. But I told them all the same thing, “Laugh all you want, but when your bike is dead and being traded in for new one, then being melted down to ingots, my bike will still be alive and running.”
Harley riders never wave back when I wave to them while riding my bike. Why? Because I don't ride a Harley? Sure, I think Harley riders are stupid for riding an overweight, underpowered, unreliable, cheaply made, overpriced piece of crap, but I digress.
I never heard anyone hating on Harley riders I have had 3 Harley’s over the past 25 years never heard any negative noise but then again I could give a rats ass if I did I am a motorcycle enthusiast and appreciate all Brands every bike has its place to shine it just depends what kind of riding your doing GO 2 wheelers GO 👍
From what I’ve seen they are hated until people get into their 30’s and start prioritizing comfort. Then the conversation changes to “well I like Harley’s but still prefer street bikes” fast forward a few more years and the conversation changes again to “ I want something I can ride for a few hours and not pay for it later with my back.”
here's another reason: you mention several things pertaining to "Harleys" as if there are no Yamaha riders, Indian riders, Kawasaki riders, Honda riders, etc. that those same things apply to. it's the elitism and failure to even recognize that the vast majority of bikes on the road are not even Harleys.
As a sport bike rider I always under estimated Harley’s until I got on one my self and took it for a nice ride and straight up Harley’s are not to be taken lightly they can definitely be powerful 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
When I was shopping for bikes I rode Harleys and just wasn't impressed. Felt like I was riding a huge moped. Tried the Victory Cross country and fell in love! Big bike with lots of style comfortable and hauls ass !!!! Plus its different ! I get ALOT of complements because she stands out ! My next bike will be the Challenger then eventually the new CVO Road Glide then THE CLOUD! I will never get rid of my Victory
Simple, because they're loud! First day it was OK, but second and each next day was getting awful and worse. Especially when they ride in packs. So much disturbance for slow speed... Ouch...
You’re not hated. Harley’s are kinda like herds of sheep on the roads in the Pyrenees. You don’t hate the sheep, but you do have to wait until they clear out to have fun.
Because of the overly loud exhaust, the stupid damn uniform they all where Black tshirt, jeans, black leather jacket, black boots, silver aluminum rings and chains, etc...
I agree when you got harley riders that are doing fun raisers and all they're doing is going from bar to bar. Stopping traffic believing that they have the right away. You're sadly mistaken you're just another drunk on the road. Otherwise I think harley's a very nice machine. Although I prefer indian.
I wouldn’t say hated as much as made fun of. Refer please to South Park episode Called “The F Word”. It explains this in great detail. Cracks me up when people buy a Harley then all the sudden their entire identity becomes “biker”. Head to toe leather with fringe, tats, grow hair long, grow beard, it’s like they feel compelled to do every biker stereotype possible. 😂. Just be you. You don’t have to be that biker image. This is why Harley sales are down 50% in the last 10yrs and they are dying a slow death. They tied themselves too heavily to that imagine. Younger people look at the guy with his black leather skull cap on and laugh like he’s playing dress up. They don’t think it’s cool or tough.
I ride a HD.out of the 10 or so guys that i ride with, only 2 of us have harley-davidsons. Everyone else in out group ride metrics all different brands. No hatred or animosity between us. If someone is hateful to one of us ive not noticed. I believe there are some people who hate but really who cares what people think. When i ride its for my enjoyment, my piece of mind. Its where i can truly relax and be at peace with my inner self. If someone just looking to hate because someone rides a harley then it seems to me that those people have their own demon's to deal with.I say just ride and be free!!!
Most Harley Riders feel that Harley is the only motorcycle I like all kinds, and someday I hope to own it Harley. I like all kinds of bikes. Harley makes a good motorcycle, but does Honda Kawasaki BMW, Ducati, etc..
Some Harley riders come off as snobs. You gotta have not gaf about what people say though. You’ll always find someone that has something negative to say. People like to gatekeep. Find friends you like to ride with and FTW
I don’t get the hatred for Harley riders. I own a 2023 SGS I ride every chance I get I choose Harley for the type of riding I do. I love all motorcycles and respect all riders . Everyone ride safe .
I don’t hate them I find them to be works of art. Each one is different from the rest. I own a ultra classic. A cone shovel “foot jockey “ , a few pre unit triumphs, 441 victors and more. My favorite which is 99.% stock is a 84 XL350R No hate here. I’m amazed by all types of bikes. Even the Navi and Grom. Noise I dislike however it does save lives.
The reason Harley riders are hated is because they have bark but no bite (loud but not fast) people just find it obnoxious to hear the roar and see it moving 15 mph through a parking lot
Lmao..there are 9sec 1/4 mile Harleys on the street..Moonshine HD in Tenn is building factory warrantied bikes making 180hp.. new m8 or revolution max motors in pan America make serious power..
I have owned and toured quite a bit on Harleys. The thing that I see, that just makes me cringe about HD guys is ;alot of them insist upon riding the zipper and riding 2 abreast. Both those practices are impractical and dangerous . In my opinion it really shows their inexperience and puts other road users at risk without Reasonable justification. Because of those widely practiced variables,I tend to shy away from poker runs and group rides. I respect the 1%ers,but most of these riders out here are posers and need to grow up.
I don't know anyone that hates Harley riders. Not one person. I've owned well over a hundred bikes since my first 90 Yamaha in 1969 including a bunch of Harleys, my last being an '06 Ultra Classic. I currently ride a Vulcan Classic, ten times the bike at 1/3rd the price. I started riding Gold Wings in 1995 and owned five in a row. If I were to ever go Touring again, it would be on the King of Tourers, the Gold Wing. My longest one day ride in the last ten years has been about 500 miles. I ride for pleasure, so an average day ride is 400 miles give or take. It was not a "pleasure " to do it on an Electra Glide Ultra Classic, it is on a Vulcan Classic. Harleys are everything they used to be, which isn't saying much. I've rode with clubs and associations. No one cares what anyone rides. The only reason any H-D rider thinks other riders hate them is because of thier personal insecurities. No one cares how much you paid for your bike, what brand it is or anything else. What's worse is these new riders with thier first bikes who say things like "it ain't much, but she's mine". SOME Harley riders and those kinds of riders have the same insecurities. Just on opposite ends if the bike financial spectrum. Ride your bike and enjoy it, because no one else gives a shit.
I have a Harley Pan America, BMW and Kawasaki. I dont care for people hating on Harley riders or Harley riders thinking that they are the best because they ride a Harley. Lets just all be cool with each other no matter what you ride. Enjoy yourself it's later than you think
Because a lot of "new age" HD riders get into this unjustified mentality that just bc of the fact they now own HD, it can't break down(anything with a motor can do just that, it's all in how you take care of it), they're untouchable to all brands(think HD is flawless mechanically and cosmetically, nope). Most importantly I think, is anyone who rides any bike that isn't HD is automatically beneath them to a HD rider. With that being said, SERIOUS lack or no respect to ALL brands styles and models on the roads. I've received countless compliments about my Honda Fury & my Yamaha Raider from diehard & respectful HD riders with good morals as a non HD rider and I show the same in return. I love HD but off the bat for HD riders with that mentality I don't waste my respect for riders like them to feed & boost their ego. Respect is received when it's given & it's given when it's received, mutual respect, learn it, apply it.
I am 55 years old. I don’t care who hates who and why. I don’t have time for games, bs or clicks. Grip it and rip it! BTW, my HD stage 2 can and will beat 1000cc super bikes at our official drag strip and they beat me. Depends on launch and skill. Love 0-100 pulls. Not a fan of triple digits even though mine will do 160. Ride safe 👊🏻
