They've done this to websites linked to thePalestinan cause recently too. So my guess is they are not doing it for mere censorship or because they are afraid of other people's narrative but just to please certain people in the region...
The US can decide to allow other governments websites in our country just like China, Russia, and Iran do. Stop acting like you people are all for free speech now

It was a wrong thing to do because it also censorship to Americans who like to hear other country’s perspectives, culture, what’s going on, etc. So, shutting down an Iranian mainstream English news channel is just more trying to control the narratives as our own media does to us. It sets a bad precedent and makes us look like we are acting like China who bans major international news organizations such as BBC News, etc. That mentality is no different than US websites, (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) censoring US citizens and deciding what THEY think is misinformation. It’s outright censorship. The majority of Americans, well over 90%, do not even read Iranian news so why even be concerned? As always, censorship is a case of the “remedy is worse than the disease” and the implications for Americans is worrisome. It always disturbs me that many of my fellow Americans have an intellectual roadblock and do not think of the repercussions of censorship both domestically and internationally. They say things like Fox News should be shut down or such and such websites they don’t agree with. These people are dangerous to freedom of speech and have a mob mentality. People say X international newspaper is slanted or biased when all our newspapers are-even endorsing political candidates. That makes us no better than China, Turkey, Iran and whomever suppresses news/journalism/opinions. Yet the Taliban has Twitter and Facebook among other dangerous/controversial groups of different kinds. China pumps so much propaganda into the US-media, universities, movies, etc. So, before you say “Good” you might consider why it’s bad.

Once on an astronomy forum a Chinese astronomy enthusiast said he couldn’t read an article on an exoplanet article in the BBC that someone had posted because the BBC was banned in China. In no time other commenters copied and pasted it for him. Thus, even harmless subjects by default get banned. Is this who we want to be? Our own media is a biased train wreck and we let enemies post on Twitter, etc.m!

I am against all breaches, against all forms of censorship but every country has some sort of propaganda, of course some more than others.

I am not a believer in religion but, I side with Iran because Iran is usually in the right. My heart is with the Iranians and the Palestinians because they need all the help they can get.

I was subscribed to PressTv...I agree part of it was propaganda yet you have that in every outlet. Besides that, presstv had really beautiful, well produced documentaries about iranian culture, I remember one in particular about the olympics of nomadic peoples of Iran...it wasn't just government propaganda, a lot of interesting stuff. On the other hand, the US shouldn't decide what is propaganda and what is not, otherwise a network as dangerous as Fox News shouldn't be opperating at all.

I listened to this Lady statements twice. Her answer to the fourth question contradicts her answer to the third question. Al Jazeera before you invite anyone, please tell them to make up their mind on the things they want to say.
I do not like hearing lies no matter who spreads it. So why not take the lie being spoken and expose it as being a lie. After all we went to war and are still at war because of lies. Is it not about time to tell the true and jail the liars ? If they really only want true being told it should begin be told at home.
