This is the definition of retirement. You keep yourself busy doing things you love like this solar DIY project without the time pressure from a corporate job. Keeps you entertained and focus.
Hello, James & Ness! Nice to "see" you again, and this latest project is a super one! I always look forward to what you are into at the moment, you give me ideas for my own build that is starting later this year in Dagupan! Take care and look forward to more updates/seeing you two again! Cheers! 🙏🙏🙏 👍😎👍
Great idea and production, James. Maybe some good idea to clone myself :). btw when Lynn and I arrive at Lucena cty, we definitely will do some project planning too :) 👍 The type of backup batteries and new material inventions on this are in full speed all over Europe and the United States, so we also will keep on following this.
Do you know about new power storage batteries attached to existing power , in case of power outages it converts automaticly when power it altered , holds enough power for 9 hours , recharging when power comes on. Can be used in solor regularl power ,wind power. Check in the beginning of may when its available.
I finally got 20 minutes to finish watching the solar upgrade - great job!! Ok we are finally getting a break from house building this week and have our Fiesta in Talisay…by the way if you want to come this way on the 10th we’d love to have you in Balas at Villa Lago Tranquilo !!🎉🎉 are you home the third week of February ?
Thanks for the invite but our Brgy Fiesta is on Feb 11. I don't think I can survive to Fiestas back to back ;) I believe we are here the third week of Feb, yes.
A whole Month?? I thought I was going to have move up my travel plans to there to do a comfort and wellness check! Just to say you make this Computer/machinist tech proud…just to add one thing..just to add one more level of support? In each of the 4 feet drill a hole to fit a “tent stake” through!
Very nice garage\mancave setup, as well as the energy preps you have setup. Running your echoflow's at 220v? Also, how many KW of solar and batteries you have there.. (nice btw)
So informative vlog and I am so jealous of these things as a long driver I could use this when travelling for my spur of the moment camping /or for charging fones. PS: I noticed the wood from the gate is deteriorating from the elements so maybe an awning in that area is necessary..? miss y'all🙂💃
I'll be pulling the doors down, refinishing and putting a base rubber seal to prevent water from touching the bottom of the doors. Maybe a good video for DIY???
Started getting worried for you guys. Thought that Eco system was already connected to the battery backup system once they were charged it rolled over to that system. Always enjoy your landscaping.
The problem with this that you can't make it almost flat. And in Philippines sun is so high during summer that panels have to be almost flat to capture most of the energy
Great idea.. Can you use other brands solar panels or does it void warranty? Is the connection to the Ecoflow a unique connection or standard? Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your weekend.
No. Even though I have 2 spare strings available on the inverter, the 400W portable solar panel doesn't meet the minimum DC input required. The inverter input range is ~125-500V and the output of the EcoFlow 400W Solar Panel is only 48V (Vmp 41V). It's possible 3 of these systems might meet the minimum input voltage for the string.
Isn't your solar panels on the roof there to supply your ECOFlow PRO(s) and batteries ? I would have to go back and check how you set-up your panels to their source. Did you purchase the ECOFLow products there in the Philippines ? or have delivered from the USA ? THANKS - wonderful videos...
Yes, the EcoFlow can get it's recharging energy from the roof PV's via the inverter but sometimes we don't get enough from the PV's to charge the batteries and the house so I use the portable panels as an additional source of energy to charge the EcoFlow batteries. Purchased the EcoFlow products here in the Philippines from All Batteries in Cebu.
Maayo Buntag James ug Ness, Do you think you'll need the EcoFlow Emerg. Gen after installing the Solar panels? Have you thought of a more permeant location for your panel array besides in frot of your garage door? As always James, another great video.
The EcoFlow Smart Generator is a standby backup in case we have an extended outage and the weather is so bad we can't charge the batteries with the solar panels. Have to keep one step ahead of the typhoons around here ;)
@My PI Dream copy that, we just finished having our house upgraded to Solar and are very happy with the results, but as you know, with the weather here the Solar batteries may not be enough in an extended period. So we're going to go with the Ecoflow system too. Wish they had a better set-up for panel support.
Ness isn't much of a camper so doubt that'll ever happen ;). I'm using it now to charge the backup EcoFlow DELTA Pro and extra batteries to keep from draining the main PV system.
I purchased all the EcoFlow products on Lazada. I buy them only when on sale because regular prices are just killers. I think I bought the original EcoFlow DELTA Pro for around P168k on sale. It sells for over P200k now I think.
Hi James H iNess: James ,this may not be the cheapest solution but I found it to be a very piratical use of a old sat dish stand.(ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HnwTqx-INes.html) this is nine years ago my reason for the reference to the nine year old tracking project was in thinking of using your portable panels and adding them to the tracking system ,that solves having to manually adjust the angle all the time. Just my mad scientist mind on overdrive.
