Yea I hear all the people talking about their personal vehicles and such, I'm more concerned about the truckers that put the food on our shelves. When their bottom line goes in the negatives because of fuel cost, guess what happens to the cost of groceries. I really feel bad for them cause it takes over a thousand dollars to fill one of those trucks now and it might only last a day and half. Thanks Brandon for the mess we're in and if your blaming prices on Russia invading Ukrain, which didn't help matters, guess what, the prices were already a dollar or more before all this went down.
Boom!!!!! Yes my brothers and I are a family of truckers and yes it’s already bound to happen, truckers are planning on stopping work to raise the price on the loads, if this does happen. Just as you said, shippers will have to pay more for the loads to move and those prices of groceries will rise dramatically. I don’t see this as only Russia, what did Saunders say when he was trying to run for president? Does anyone remember? He said I won’t give anyone $15 minimum because that will collapse the economy and guess what people did? They voted Hillary and trump because they promised specially California for the $15 minimum. It’s the peoples fault for asking too much without thinking of the problems later on. Minimum wages was raised more than 50% so now the prices of gas and groceries will rise over 50% as well. Doesn’t make a difference if you got paid $7 minimum. Economy needs to balance out
@@jeremytine I get that we need to do better with renewable energy but I don't do it all at once. This is deliberate. The U.S. could've uncapped its wells and not canceled pipelines but no, we had to cripple ourselves. This has nothing to do with Russia or Ukraine, this is the government forcing their green policy.

The classic example of when you don't know what you're talking about best to keep your mouth shut. The keystone Pipeline means nothing to the price of gasoline now. Ooor we can just reopen the Keystone XL pipeline, make us energy independent and not rely anyone else for gas. Idk why the potato in chief had to shut it down.
The price of gas depends on the world market. The pipeline would increase the world supply a fraction of a percent, perhaps cutting the price at the pump by a penny.

What does Putin and Russia have to do with it? According to the agreement, Russia will supply at the old prices even before August. All claims to the President of America, to their policy and the reverse consequence of the sanctions policy. But further, after August, it will be even more expensive when they completely abandon Russian oil. We have a lot to think about...
They need to give families monthly gas vouchers. This isn't due to war. It's all because the oil refineries said they weren't going to produce more oil than normal because they want to make as much profit as possible.
Before this house plant infiltrated the Whitehouse that wasn't the case because we were paying less than 1/2 what it is now. This is due to Biden being a total POS. I would say failure but it is not a failure he is succeeding in exactly what he was trying to do.
$5.70 / 3.79 (1 US gallon = 3.78 litres) = $1.50 per litre. $1.50 = £1.13 (per litre). That's ridiculously cheap compared to what the UK has been paying for the last decade.
It is crazy that you americans think that $5.69 per gallon is much. You pay over all far too less for the gas. That's why you all drive trucks that consume a lot of fuel and don't care what comes out of your exhaust. In Germany you normally pay 5.67€ per gallon which is caused by many taxes used for environmental protection. Due to the war in Ukraine, we are now paying 8.88€ per gallon. That's a lot, and not your $5.69, which is still very cheap.
America is extremely dependent on cars we also used to produce alot of oil domestically to keep prices down so 5$ for gas for the US is a death sentence since if theirs no gas in your car your virtually under house arrest where as in Germany just use public transportation or walk or bike :edit also to add Americas infrastructure is built around cars so and with that places are further away from each other then in europe where streets where built for walking.

They can't stay to high for to long otherwise it will make investment into renewables and alternatives more attractive and oil company's do t want that
Except gas and oil are vital for EVERYTHING! You want food? Yeah, farmers require gas for their tractors, and for transporting said food to the store. You need ammo for your gun to go hunting? Someone has to transport those bullets and/or materials required to make the bullets. You have a job? Well, the product your company requires will increase drastically in price since gas prices are going up. And we are not factoring in all the plastics required for EVERYTHING.
If the prices stay high, it means more profit to be gained from investing into oil. Why would anyone wanting to make a profit would invest into renewables when oil is more profitable?
Nah lower this ish. This is pissing me off. Travel is gonna be hard for everyone now. When there’s one problem, there’s always another. So freaking annoying. Biden's own words in the campaign in 2019: "Number one, no more subsidies for fossil fuel industry. No more drilling on federal lands. No more drilling, including offshore. No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period, ends, number 1
Yeah? So? Do you seriously think this is the reason for high gas prices? Sorry son but the rabbit hole goes much deeper. Simply put, the pandemic is why gas prices fell and recovery from the pandemic is why gas prices rose. The Russian invasion is why it continues to rise. Please research this and remember that not every problem is centered on politics.
Russia is not to blame. America wants to become independent from Russia. hahahah and now the Arabs have rejected the talks with the USA and the Americans are trying to find a replacement with their arch-enemies Iran and Venezuella hahahahahahhahah

I'd like to ask a question (as a layman) , suppose there's a car for sale (used) that has a relatively large engine like 5.0 or more litres. If it was for sale a few months ago before the conflict at a certain price, and is still for sale now, will these increases in gas prices cause the car's value to change? (off the top of my head I'm thinking "would it become cheaper because it's a gas guzzler and such would automatically become 'unpopular' in today's economic situation?")
I expect so. One thing about energy costs going up so fast is it cuts into disposable income in real time. Plus the uncertainty of war and the future will likely spur changes in buying behaviors leading to recession. Which of course will cut into big purchases like autos. Its coming. You better believe it. Now is the time to sell. Not the time to buy any car. Incomes are not going up as fast as inflation. Its only a matter of time that these highers costs will catch up spending.
If the truck was 5,000 it will still be 5,000, it’s just the customer may reconsider because of gas, which fluctuates. The actual value of the vehicle doesn’t depreciate
Shut up Brandon you stopped the production of our oil pipeline on day one in office. Gas prices in the US shouldn't have spiked so high if you didn't interfere with our pipeline! Let's go Brandon!!!
Remember the government isn't the oil companies. Like any other business, unless Federal laws are being broken, the government can't make them do anything. If there aren't any State laws being broken, the State can't make them do anything. The oil companies are privately owned, it's their product. They decide what they sell it for. Stop blaming the Presidents everytime, for something they have no legal power over. If you want them to bring the prices down, give them incentive. Find ways to force them to drop the prices. We can start by literally only driving when necessary. Combine all your driving stops in a perfectly mapped out route. Use Google maps and set your route, so you travel as little as possible. Cancel all planned personal trips to keep from buying more gas. Another thing we can do is, us little people ban together and choose one gas station to buy from. For instance we choose to buy from Chevron only. Guess what when Exxon/Mobil, Shell, 76 and others aren't getting any gas sales you'll see those prices drop. However, we don't buy the gas because it dropped 10 cents a gallon. We wait til it's 50 cents less. Then we again choose only one place say Exxon/Mobil. Then, you'll see places dropping prices again and maybe even offering other incentives to buy their gas. Again, we wait for another substantial drop before we purchase. If a company decides to try to gouge us again. We ban using them for an extended period of time, like three months. This could work, and in this day and age with the internet, we can come together and make this happen. This is how we make change. Not by blaming people who have no power to make anything happen.
@@SketchyGhettoSpic @A. G. Hernandez @A. G. Hernandez What do you think Wal-Mart does. For generations stores were operating in areas all over the country. You might have to go to six locations to get what you want. Wal-Mart pops up and within that generation all those stores closed, why? They combined all your stops into one location, they brought the cost down on competitors prices and they gave you incentives to shop there (great return policies (even if you broke it. I know I've done it). They stay open later or always. Another example is Amazon. They made it so you don't have to leave you house to 6 locations, nope not even one. They gave you incentive buy this get that for cheaper, free shipping, order tracking. They also went so far as to take loses on products just to put businesses out of business. Both these companies could do this, because they are private companies. As long as they aren't breaking Federal or State laws it's all legal and no President or other member of the Three Branches in our government could do anything about it. Now you can still say pure nonsense, but these are facts. No right wing, no left wing, just facts.
@@raydeelena6385 Your argument is that Biden has no power. No rational person believes this myth. Today's governments have almost absolute control over businesses in every country. They exercise this power by banning new projects, approving projects that benefit them, taxation, tarrifs, carbon taxes, allowing lobbying, invading other countries, and creating tributary states. Nice try though.
No, part of what determines the price of oil are oil futures, which is like a prediction of future supply. Biden has halted new leases on public lands which has caused oil futures and thus the price of gas to skyrocket.
This does not explain WHY the price of gas is so high. It's not because of the price of crude. The price of a barrel of oil was the same in 2011 but gas prices were nowhere near this high.
And most of us are sheep and will continue to pay high prices. People need to be stronger and boycott gas, but nope, people are just weak sheep and will accept it.
Keep the issue simple: In America (Free Market) we have oil and gas barons. They're analogous to profiteers. Supply and demand. The U.S. oil barons are selling globally to bank cash, and shorting the supply to American's at the same time. More profits for them overseas. They love this market right now. The American oligarchs as we know them.
This is pure cope. Prices were low until the instant the Biden administration got in and shut down new leases on federal lands, causing oil futures to skyrocket.

Yes it shoud have happened against China as well, or for the cobalt industry when environmental goals or human labour rights wasn't met. So being smart for Trump is not an option. Easy to say things when you are risking nothing, and frankly, he just did nothing. Economic war with China? Out of thin air? That is bs. If it would have been tied to environmental and labour rights goals then yes, it would do something, but like this? Nobody has done a single thing, no president, no country, nobody. I even heard a car salesman say he would follow the example set by the Federal Reserve, who will be raising interest rates, by raising their sales commission rates by 10% per vehicle in an effort to do their part to help slow down inflation.
How about going hydrogen cell for cars?We don’t have the capacity in the grid for everybody to charge up their cars.We would have to build new power plants.Hydrogen cell would be better for cars.We could also make minor adjustments to our cars and run them on liquidified natural gas.
@B Babbich There aren’t enough charging stations, and most Americans can’t afford electric cars. The only solution right now is to drill more oil on federal land.
The fact that Biden is not doing anything when it comes to US gas prices, shows how complicit he is. Millions of Americans across the state are suffering and yet at the state level many don’t consider to halt the gas tax. Biden needs to step up pressure and efficient we are suffering.
So you're saying that our Domestic Oil Companies won't give us our nation's under ground oil and gas Unless we agree to buy gas for $6.00 a gallon for the next 20 years?

Hey as long as people keep paying these prices the oil companies will keep selling it at these prices. People don't seem to be changing their driving habits. Roads look crowded as ever. As long as this is the case the oil industry will take advantage of the situation.
You're acting like people have a choice. People need to work, and many companies are removing their WFH policy and there are places (NYC, SF) and even states (NY) ordering people to get back to work, as in start commuting to and from the office. No. If BiDUMB gets off his tuchus and does the correct things (opening up the floodgates on leases to drill oil), these prices will be a very temporary blip.
Even before the pandemic the Biden administration gave out leases to fossil fuel companies at a rate higher than the Trump administration. The major reason that fossil fuel companies are extremely reluctant to increase capacity is that a great number of them went out of business the last time oil prices went up; that is, the 8 month lag between oil prices and investing in fracking (water-based) infrastructure was enough to sink them and oil prices.

Nah, they won't remain high forever. Historically it rises and drops. The real reason it will drop is demand will slow. People won't drive as much, spend as much on other things, driving demand down. The economy will contract if companies keep being greedy.
