the most one that i feel sorry for is Billy Zane .... his acting was so good in Titanic and also he stole the eyes in Dead Calm .. but he actually never looked for fame any way !! so ... good luck to him
Billy Zane really hit a double edged sword. He was so incredibly good at a particular role in one of the most iconic films of all time that no matter what he ever does that's what we will all picture him as forever. But it's pretty admirable to have done that good of a job at that role!
He's forever Cal Hockley. That's a tough stigma to shake off. Leo is sorta forever Jack, but that's a good character so audiences are sympathetic, as they are with Kate.
Charlie Sheen is just a rich family since his father Martin Sheen has enough money , Charlie doesn't care and do what he wants . Thats why i hate rich families that has no boundaries for their kids, as those kids are the ones who's ruining the fun everywhere . Jim Carrey is humble his roles were made for him same goes for Robin Williams his movies were excellent too . We can't say that from actors/actresses from this last 20years they all suck and only cares for the money ....
I 👏🏾 love 👏🏾 Billy 👏🏾 Zane. It's impossible for every single actor or actress to be in the spotlight at the same time. This is why streaming services are so popular. Your faves make smaller budget movies they excel in and you get to see some fresh faces as well. Everyone isn't cut out to be a huge star with no privacy.
This really had nothing to do with "Why Hollywood Won't Cast These 12 Actors Anymore" It was more of "12 Actors Who Don't Work That Much In Films Anymore" In order for Hollywood to consciously not cast an actor requires the actor in question to pull some negative shit on set or in their life. Losing ticket draw due to over saturation is not that.
Well, you mean negative shit from a Hollywood's perspective. Because Jim Carrey has not become a serial killer or a depressed guy... quite the opposite.
There are not a lot of actors who can ever compare themselves with Jim Carey. The man is a friggin legend, so let Hollywood admit that Bcz I don't see any actor who can fill that position period.
@@deemay261 yes but Carey's s close 2ed...I grew up with Robin Williams's..we wore rainbow suspenders back in the day just to celebrate the man ..pure genius..
So very true. Many people come into money, actors, actresses, lottery winners, etc.. then start living large, and Oops, where my money go??? MC Hammer, one example.
Excellent advice. Makes good sense. So many people come into lots of money, then start living large and suddenly it’s, where’d my money go? MC Hammer comes to mind.
I'd say it's not fleeting with all actors. It's a combination of luck, talent and good relations with directors and producers in the long run. Someone like Al Pacino or De Niro or even Brad Pitt their fame lasted for decades till they got old.
Seems like Jim Carrey CHOSE to step back, which is natural as Hollywood became more greedy and focused on superheroes remakes and popularity instead of good scripts and talent. Guess this applies somewhat to Billy Zane too. Others like J Love Hewitt wisely chose steady TV careers, but I suppose missed out on the now and then big screen/indie role for whatever reason. It's silly to expect great actors to be in starring big screen roles all the time. It limits their range and isn't practical. Tom Cruise does this and he is more of a product based on heavy HW PR.
I get what you’re saying about super hero movies and a lack of great scripts but Jim Carrey isn’t the best example considering the suicide of his Irish girlfriend and the scandal around the role he played in her life.
@@philpatterson7085 I didn't mind "Batman Forever". I remember a time when superhero films were a once or twice a year event (school holidays or the Christmas rush), not overkill, which I feel they have become. I haven't been to see a superhero film since "Dr. Strange" was released, and I will admit I liked that one.
+shizukagozen777 Agreed. I was surprised to see how many here reognized his talent. I wish he paid more attention to his scripts & PR. He should've been in a few mainstream hits when he was younger but if he lost weight & fixed himself up, he can still take on a great role. He's done some great stuff but they were overwhelmed by too many poor roles like the movies with Uwe Boll (who sued him) & other silly stuff. People are associating him with bad C movies when he's capable of better. But he's back with Lucid. Too small a role but hope his upcoming projects are better.
Yes but don't they say in the movie that his father is dead? I feel if they would have based the Lex character on the Justice League Unlimited cartoon (peek physical form and intellect) and had Billy Zane as the actor, the DCEU wouldn't be such a shit show.
Exactly, a human in peak physical form and genius intellect, jealous and fearful of the alien from Krypton. Billy Zane could give that smug look. Such a shame.
Am I the only one that thinks Billy Zane should play Marlon Brando in a biopic? He looks as much like him as any other actor in Hollywood and I think that would really bring him back to the public eye.
I never realized it before, but Zane is absolutely a ringer for Marlon Brando! I think that he also has the chops to pull off Brando's personality and mannerisms.
Billy Zane is a really good actor that really didn't get credited for a lot of his performances he's very multi talented actor that Hollywood should recognize more today.
I agree. He is very captivating and he loves the craft, that's why he will never be one of the biggest, most hyped actors in the business ever. You gotta be bland to get there and once you're there you can't do weird roles anymore. So it's actually a good thing he stayed under the radar.
@@andrewbarchenger2010 If that were the real issue, he could've had a custom made toupee or hair transplant done. Burt Reynolds had been wearing a toupee since the 70's and looked great. For years, I had no idea he even wore one. There are tons of actors that either wear toupees or have hair transplants done. Besides, they are made up to look according to whichever character they are playing so it really doesn't matter if they have hair or not. The excuse of losing one's hair is not a legitimate excuse for not seeing an actor on screen much anymore as hair can be replaced. John Travolta and Nicholas Cage also wear a hairpieces, as do many other actors.
Tarantino (one of my favs) has a history of taking actors who are slowly declining in reputation and giving them new stardom. I think he could totally do that for Billy Zane (also one of my favs). Zane is one of those actors who can get really creepy characters done well (like Buscemi, one of Tarantino’s many colleagues) and his work in “Blood & Concrete” and “I woke up early the day I died” is kinda similar in a way to works of Tarantino.
''Difficult'' means that some actors, actress refused to sleep with directors, producers. Didn't Peter Jackson come out and say that he wanted two actress to star in his movies but Harvey Weinstien told him both were difficult to work with. Harvey blacklisted many actresses labeling them Difficult. Megan Fox and many others lost work because they stood up and said No. Jackson now admits to being lied to by Harvey about the actresses he wanted to work with.
I agree. You should see a little-known movie called The Business of Strangers. She was great in that, and held her own with Stockard Channing, who has a pretty strong screen presence herself.
Billy Zane is one of the most underused resources of Hollywood. I won't say under-rated because I think people recognize his talent. But herd mentality has caused everyone to back away from him.
What is funny to me is that people see their onscreen time shrinking as some kind of failure. I don't ; I applaud the actor or actress who can get in make as much money as possible and then ride off into the sunset on their own terms much like a champion fighter who's prime has passed and retires on a win or with a winning record.
@ZULU MATUBU - Awww... aren't you pitiful little trolls just adorable! With so much time to waste and everything, putting out pathetic, snarky little comments that don't impress anyone. So sad. 😭😭😭
blood and concrete must have been so underrated. there were many classic and hilarious moments plus billy zane i don't think ever looked so gorgeous. they seem to have played down his good in everything else except maybe 'dead calm' and he was a total psycho. in 'blood and concrete' his character was endearing plus he was funny. ha ha ha. many parts of that movie were very funny,
As much as Billy Zane would love to give up on "villain" roles I can't get him out of my head as Lex Luthor. He has all the charisma, talent and he is also kinda buff and intimidating like Lex was in justice league unlimited!
Actually point of it all is that after a while on the top their time kinda passed.. same as music artists, they can dominate one decade and even more but after a while, new generations are coming, new teen idols, new heartthrobs or different type music or films that become more popular and that is like that since the beginning. Thats a normal thing, artists that I loved 10 years ago that were the biggest stars at that moment or actors that made me want to go to the movies are not "it" anymore and thats a normal thing, but they still make films and music just arent that much in the spotlight.
your right Archduke, all the movies today are super hero movies and im not interested in them, in the next 2 years there is not 1 movie im going to see.
I don't feel one way or another about Katherine Heigl can't say I'm a fan of her work besides Knocked Up. but I agree with this comment and also the responses to it along the lines of you "don't bite the hand that feeds you." I do think what she said about Grey's Anatomy was pretty backhanded towards the writers. But at the same time I can't help it feel like if she were a man her comments would just be chalked up to honest commentary/opinion instead of "prissy actress just bitching."
It is another of many sets of CDs or other formats producers of mediocre vids purchase cheaply to use without having to pay for rights and decent musicians. Mostly for schools, small companies and churches for their video work...…….
Jessica Alba is a good actor depending on her roles, I think it was called "they eye" she was amazing! and in tv show "Dark Angle" she was perfect for that role!
Taylor is more focused on her music and I'm glad for that because she has one hell of a vocal range. Simply beautiful and amazing. Jim's career wasn't a flop, he chose to step away and to this day, remains one of the BEST. There are people who deserve to be on this list, he is not one of them. Young people have no idea what a good career looks like. I remember when JLH was the girl everyone wanted in the 90s, and SMG was the badass girl next door. I miss the 90s...
You didn't mention Stiles in The Business of Strangers a heavy well-done psychological drama. I would of thought starring with Stockard Channing in such a critically acclaimed film would have helped her career a lot.
Julia Styles never wanted to be a big star. She wants to be relevant but not famous. She enjoys being in her more indie roles as she has always had more of an affinity for the mechanics of acting.
Do you realize that when a woman on stage is said to be «difficult», that often means «she resisted several attempts of sexual aggression by film leaders» ?
Not all the time! Women are just as guilty for that too! A lot of female actors are dramatic and difficult to work with in large! If you are gonna be a diva, you’ll be treated like one
I actually adored Zane in that episode of Community. When I finally got my sisters to watch it with me, they both turned to me and asked whatever happened to him. I recently binged Charmed and he plays the former demon named Drake and he was perfection! It's so sad that he never got the chance he deserved. I can't help but wonder if it had something to do with his hair loss, which almost every project he ever did tried to desperately hide.
My job has lead me to meet hundreds of celebrities, and Billy Zane is the nicest, coolest, most incredible chat you'll ever have with a celebrity. After this party filled with HUGE celebrities, all anybody I knew could say was, "Holy shit! I had the most incredible conversation with Billy Zane!" He's THAT kind of guy! This was around 2006, and there has yet to be a personality of note that I have met who could compare to Billy Zane.
+Eric Hicks It's more important to be famous than to be working! Any famous out-of-work actor will tell you. "Sure there are plenty of people who are working, but I'm a well-known celebrity."
Billy Zane's first movie that I remember was "Tomestone"He actually played a traveling actor with a few others(Dana Delaney) but was short lived cause he was shot by the bad guys in town.
Two actors who have had a tough time getting over their previous movie role are Jason Alexander who played Stuckey in "Pretty Woman" and Terry O'Quinn who played Henry Morrison in "The Stepfather"
Billy Zane is a gorgeous Man!!! And he's a really good actor! He needs to get better roles. I remember him in Dead Calm. So handsome, and SO scary at the same time.
Well she can always rest on the success of the past when she was in "The view" "millionaire" and " the today show" at the same time, all while dealing with her husbands terminal illness.
Getting a major role on Game of Thrones is not what I would name as a man that isn't cast anymore. And taking off some time to raise a couple of babies is also not the same as a choice on the part of producers.
I hope Julia Stiles gets some good roles once the US is able to get a lid on COVID-19. She was very good in The Bourne Identity, Supremacy and Ultimatum. As well as Jason Bourne and The Silver Linings Playbook. Good luck to Julia.
BartJ583 The title is why Hollywood won't cast these actors so no the list doesn't make sense in that aspect. If the title had said actors who no longer work in Hollywood then yeah it make sense.
Yes most of the actresses have had kids so I’d rather raise my kids than run after a role that may not be satisfying! Some of the actors are still working as well🤔 just seems like some have moved away from Holly-weird
I hate these videos that are meant to tear down talented people .. They work hard and put themselves out there for us and try to entertain us.. Not just that!...I had to STOP watching this after you tried to claim that Jim Carey's career took a dive. Sorry. But you're incorrect. Jim's career will never take a dive. He's one of the best out there among other amazing talented actors and comedians. Stop trying so hard to get likes. Put something wholesome up. Something that actually makes sense.
