I saw the film. It didn’t satirize Christianity. It satirized Black church culture, especially mega churches. For me, it holds up a mirror to church folks who value clout and materialism above relationship and saving souls.

@@sirwalterj the director of the film herself grew up in the Black church. I’m sure she knows the difference between the tenets of Christianity and the customs of the Black church.
I watched the movie. I fell asleep on it twice. I do understand how it satirized much of what people think the modern “black church” is. I may be jaded but I absolutely hate when the “church” is depicted on film or television because it cannot be depicted realistically in my opinion. The depiction of church is believed to be real when it is not. Much of what we see plays up stereotypes about church.
Green leaf was way better than this Honk for Jesus movie. It's worth the watch. I'm with you on not supporting Oprah. But I'm not sure she even owns the channel anymore
We are to be considered as Saints, Christianity was a term made up by the catholic church. There is nowhere in the Bible that says we should be a "CHRISTIAN" we are to be Saints of God! The people that claim to be Christian will do absolutely anything contrary to that Bible!
Christian is a term that was first used in Antioch. Read Acts 11:26 and you'll see the word there. The term was used because there was a distinctive group of people who practiced a faith that was different from Judaism and the Greco-Roman polytheistic structure at the time. They were identified as Christ followers. It's an identifier because at the time they had never seen anything like that before. A mixed group of people coming together as one to worship the Sovereign Savior.

Thanks for all you do and share. It does appear to be a lot of religions, however...it is much simpler than that. There's true followers of Yahshua (Jesus) the Way and the Occult that is it....Once Jesus is not in the mix for real... it is the Occult period... many faces, many practices, yet... it's all the same thing.
