I just found a lot of copper in the street light pole. But now the street light doesn't work. Weird but I got some copper stacked now. Thanks for the info
Last year i bought a 1 AVDP oz of copper for $14.99. Its a recreation of a 1933 double eagle. Why did i buy it you ask? My wife insisted, since i hadnt bought anything for myself during our vacation. I know copper was probably less than $4/lb at the time, but its easier to just smile and say yes, than to try and explain how horrible a deal i got.
I've been saving scrap copper for years. A few years back I got into smelting my copper scraps to save space. Now I've got a huge stack of approximately 1 kilo copper bullion bars and a large pile of assorted hand poured rounds. Thanks as always for your videos Mr stateside
I totally agree Copper Bullion is more of Novelty buy than anything , but for Nusimatic copper you won't go wrong especially if you have a 1909 SVDB cent which is worth a lot!
@@StatesideStash I wish you well on getting that cent I've had one before, but sold it cause it was not in great shape I will be getting one soon too! to complete my Lincoln cent album
I've stacked up over 10,000 copper cents (pre-82). I have some wheat cents as well. I also have a couple hundred Indian Head cents. Other than that my copper is in Nickels I get in change. I do not have any bars, rounds or anything of that nature in copper bullion. I do think they are cool and I would like some for novelty but as you said I wouldn't pay the premiums. The reasoning behind such is because I prefer to buy Constitutional silver or silver art bars/rounds. If i'm not buying that, I'm usually hunting down 10k/14k gold jewelry to stack some gold away for cheap.
Have you noticed the amount of mutilated quarters and dimes lately? I have a friend who purchases these types of coins at a discount. They are coming from China. Back in the mid 1800's China used to file down the edges of silver dollars and such. They are doing this again shaving off the reading and then mutilating them to keep the value of the coins. A cheap but tedious process to get free copper and nickel
I love copper rounds. Most of my favorite Silver rounds have the same round made in copper. Same design, really can look nicer, but for $4 instead of $30. I like to give them out to special people that I meet. 2A people, Dog people, Trump people. People that are wearing a shirt, have a bumper sticker, carrying openly, have a cool dog, I have a cool copper round for them. It is fun to surprise people, especially for the dog owners, because the dogs only behave as well as their owners train them.
That’s what I do. I save any pre-1982 pennies I acquire and every so often, I find some in the cash drawers where I work and I swap them out with change in my pocket. I found quite a bit of wheat pennies just this past years. You’d be shocked about how ignorant the average consumer is about numismatics. They only see the denomination, but you can use that to your advantage if you play your cards right. 👍
I used to scrounge copper if it got in my way. Never bought it. Pipe, wire, etc. When it's space was full, off to recycling. I have always fished out Wheaties from my change. Same with pre82 pennies. I brought the pennies to Hawai'i. Lol. Great video SS !! I think many coin folkses' still love the penny. I do.
I bought 10 1 oz Halloween pumpkin themed 🎃 copper rounds and I just did it because they’re cool to me not really to stack. I love all metals even copper but the problem with copper is storage. 😂😢
Hey Stateside, thanks for the vlog! Nice large cents. I love those numismatic coins. I've only got the really expensive stuff left for my type set. It's definitely going to take some time before I delve into those. Saw 2 different draped bust dollars at a coin show last weekend. I asked the price, but knew I was not ready to pay the amount they were going to ask for them. Had to ask anyway.
Always understand that copper is $4.17 per POUND… but you’re buying by the ounce… dealers sell 1 oz for 1.50 to 3.00 per ounce… nice to look at, nice for convo’s and even maybe just to have some souvenirs made up… but copper is not a great investment… I definitely have hundred of old copper Pennies
@@StatesideStash Tough to find a coin shop that would buy Lincoln Memorials from you 59-82 even though they're still 95% copper. They're nuisance coins to most dealers.
my dad is a plumber.. when i was a kid my brother and i used to have to cut up my dads scrap copper pipe after school so we could take it to the scrap yard.. good times 😅
Copper is a great metal for how it's used across the world, just not for stacking. I will, though, stash away pre-82 pennies and all US nickels, and I've got two fun pieces of bullion.
I love copper rounds especially the wildlife rounds and the legalize pot rounds I buy them for my son . I guess I'm to old to live in the 70's considering I'm 67 years young. Copper bars are beautiful also.
I always take w.e scrap copper we have from a job site. Every 6 months or so I go scrap it and get like 500 bucks sometimes more sometimes less but it’s a good date night or day out with the kids that is basically free minus the sweat
Folks if you want copper, why not bronze. You can find it at thrift stores, flea markets or better yet go yard sailing for this decorative bronze in many different forms and shapes at very affordable prices. Now if I just wanted copper only then how about tubing or even different usable fittings that are used around the house for future uses. There are always better and more affordable options than these collectible copper rounds or bars that will always carry a premium when buying and selling. Don’t forget that our sovereign cents that we mistakenly call pennies are worth three times their face value as-well as the collectable side. Oh yes the government is now changing the copper content of our sovereign cents/pennies.
@@MattMcCormack-f3e What you haven’t noticed is that the price you are paying for this novelty copper as well as do you really think in times of crisis you maybe selling it only by weight and if selling it back to a LCS there definitely there will be premiums involved. Probably with a negative premiums. Yes reselling nicknacks the sell price is probably going to be ten times or higher versus these novelty copper rounds or bars. Like I mentioned before cents/pennies maybe your best bet to stockup on since the US Mint is going to a more affordable metal in place of what we call copper pennies/cents. Your choice, for me I’m into making real money and not silly-putty or Play-Doh.
I bought a copper coin for five us dollars one ounce I think because that was what I was going to use to pay off the USA National Debt with with the whole *"pay it all off with a super-sized super massive copper coin!"* ridiculousness running wild which is still running wild actually yes, absolutely😮😮😮😮😂😂😂😮😮😮😮😮
Wow are you crazy, apparently you aren’t a collector and maybe you need some professional guidance. Because I’m not seeing it here and or are you just repeating what just heard from someone else.
