Nice video and interesting picks you made. I follow the league for more than 25 years now and have seen many many players come and go. Many overhyped young guys and solid veterans who figured out how to contribute to a team and outlasted their career predictions. What I like about your clips is that it’s not a prediction like what seems to be the holy grale nowadays to write what will happen. You made me aware of a specific situation and I will keep an eye on this like the Fox situation going forward. One thing in particular I don’t like about sports media nowadays. Words like ceiling, potential, or talent are thrown around way to lightly. These are just words created by humans. I believe no one really has a ceiling. I get some are more talented than others but work ethic, how a player carries himself on and off the floor and the person itself is not being documented enough. The Thunder always draft persons first and players second. The passed on someone like Sengun who they actually drafted and I always ask myself where the team could be next with sengun with them, cause I like his game a lot. But I trust Presti, that he maybe wasn’t a good personal fit with the others without knowing anything about it. What I really want say is that after watching a ton of Olympic basketball and incredible cohesive units like the Serbians or the Germans, I convinced that the NBA will slowly drift away from the iso heavy star ridden playing styles we have seen over the years. A team with 3 All Stars like the LeBron Heat played the classic superstar game and managed to get role players involved which they grew into true contributors. In the future there will be even more non American top end players who are used to a team oriented setting and have no problem that everyone has touches and less ball dominant sequences imo. Luka for example is truely a wizard and already fantastic but aside from the complaining and whining the Mavs have one big problem. Luka totally accepted the iso heavy American style cause he is fantastic doing it but I‘m not so sure this will lead to the success they hope for and that is accessible. The true top teams in the future might figure out ways to pace the offense for easy looks while chasing around screens even from the guards cause it leads to easier looks than the classic screening from the top of the key. Players might only have a ceiling cause we but it on them and don’t allow them to truely flourish what they can do well aside from dominating the ball. There is often the narrative that athletic players with a big wingspan are potentially good defenders which I really hate. If a player never showed he is willing to defend and might not be smart enough to do this I really don’t see why he will become this. Potential is always there and players 97% of the time get payed for what their offensive output/ efficiency is but there is so much more to the game than this. Exciting times we live in and everything is under the microscope but can we all just enjoy a little bit more what is in front of us and what passes the eye test and what not? The overanalyzing many people do is flat out poor and boring. I can see if someone is good playing good basketball and contributes to winning like Aaron Wiggins for example does. The numbers don’t tell sh!t about him but he fits in, develops his skills and does what he is asked to and that’s more of a reason I love the NBA than many top 30 players I can’t really stand because they are one trick ponys or are only playing one end of the floor always exclusively.
I feel like Trey Murphy will not make a jump on the stats page. Since Dejonte is going to take more touches and scoring oppritunites, alogn with potentialy an expanded Zion role. I think he will be a better player, but the scoring is not going to incresuse, but I think his efficiancy will, since he's getting set up by an actual point gaurd.
I think we should sell on Luka's stats. I think his box numbers will be worse, since after the trade deadline his points went down as he had more options to score on his team and his offensive load is less. This year his offensive load will be even less due to the addition of Klay and Marshall (Grimes is also proabbly gonna get a decent amount of playing time). I still think he's gonna get assists, since Klay and grimes probably arent gonna swing the rock if they get the ball from luka.
@@kingcatkid8567 even before the end of the season his stats dipped, before the trade deadline. Once you get more offensive options, your offensive stats go down. Like Tatum and brown averaged around 3 less points each this year, but any celtics fan could tell you they were better (even before the playoffs started). Why? this is because porzingus, holiday, and a empowered derrick white took more of their shots.
Luka's numbers could go down, but that doesn't mean that his style of play will change. None of Klay, Marshall, or Grimes are really gonna make Luka change the way he plays because they fit the way he plays.
@@MeMe-kt2yfNeither nor Tatum nor Brown need the ball as much as much Luka does, so it was pretty easy for Porzingis, Holiday, and White to play their game alongside them. I would argue that PJ Washington is not playing his game alongside Luka; He wasn't a spot-up shooter in Charlotte, but he has become one in Dallas, and that's not his strong suit.
I remember you said the Knicks would fall off last year cuz of the same reasoning that we overachieved the year before. The Knicks won 50 games missing half their starting lineup then went to a Game 7 semis with the whole team falling apart. Yall gotta stop sleeping lol
No Jamal Murray? I’m surprised. I mean I’m not selling stock but I have seen him on fraud alerts lately. Also if we are including contract value wouldn’t Gafford be kinda neutral because his contract isn’t that bad even if his production slips a little. Also I definitely see the Knicks getting past a healthy Bucks team. Lillard is a little overhyped when you take into account his playoff records.
@@Waxedupwill he had Lemarcus Aldridge and CJ McCollum too. If my memory serves me his shooting splits in the playoffs are like 41/38 or something like that. While that’s good from deep that’s not ideal FG% from your number one guy.
I think another issue about fox this year was the he settled too much since he knows his jumper is better. I jumper is good now, but his bread and butter should still he getting to the rim.
I thinnk the knicks overated, since are we trusting mitchell to stay heathly in the regular season. Is the hartenstain loss to big, since he was pivitol to their scheme.
@@liferealgood Their scheme is also dependant of generating offensive rebounds, including crashing the glass, which iHart was the best at. He also has great playmaking ability in the pick n roll, and is able to find the open/mostly open shooters that dot the perimeter for new york.
@@MeMe-kt2yf Mitch Robinson is one of the better offensive rebounders in the game. Likely better than Hartenstein. Whatever Hartenstein brought to the Knicks offensively wasn’t pivotal. If it were he’d average way more than 2.5 assists a game. If it were he’d be near Draymond Green level of assists. Hartenstein was a nice to have offensively definitely not pivotal.
@@liferealgood I feel like a guy who's getting 29 mil a year is valued and important. That's not too much money, but a decent amount. A mich extension would probably be around 15-18 mil a year
Celtics r not gonna be anywhere close to tested getting to the finals again, unless god forbid caleb martin turns back into when he almost won ECFmvp, knicks roster gonna be one long injury report again by the time playoffs come around
I think it's pretty hard to injure a 10-man rotation. The amount of depth they have, there's no reason to even lose guys to being run down with exhaustion
@@MyChannel-w7u I like you Mal am a Bulls fan and by nature hate the Knicks. But playing with his college teammates and not missing any games like ever? In a role he was tailor made to fit. I think he will be pretty good still.
Lol I know you are my man, I’ve seen you on the Bulls channel. The reason I have him as a sell is mainly because the of the amount the Knicks gave up to get him. I think he’ll be fine, but he isn’t going to put the Knicks over the top
@@MyChannel-w7u the real question is how does this iteration mesh and are they greater than the sum of their parts because of the chemistry between the 4 nova guys and everyone else
